Much love and respect to powerful pexter! Im 42 and you couldn't pay me to get back out on a dance floor like I did 30 years ago! Todays generation owe you, crazy legs, icey ice,li'l lep, chino, kuriaki, mr.wave,etc. Much gratitude!
yes pex - you made me learn the windmill and the hailo whilst wearing out my mama's vcr back in 83 and i'm still dancing too! just gotta warm up really good before hand so nothin' snaps! peace to u brother b-boy . keep on rockin' :)
Dammmmnn...can't believe that with the added years and weight you can still dance. I danced back in the day too, but with 28 more years and 28 more pounds I could never pull off a windmill. My respects to the Pex.
Powerful Pexter. Your B-boy name was accurate! I remember me and my cousins watching the Beat Street battle scene over and over! I had to get your opening Power Pause move down pat! LOL! Although my Heart is with Rock Steady. My mind said: you all won that battle. You and Action aka Chino were the ones that sealed it. Pex,Storm,Kuriaki, and Ken Swift, are the BEST EVER - in my opinion. Impressive to see Pex still able to display bboy skills at what, age 50? OUTSTANDING!
Pexster was always my favourite BBoy. When I was learning to BBoy in the 80s, I always wanted that speed and power. Im 41 now and still BBoying. Never give up, never stop.
Met Pexter in Trinidad when the NYC breakers stoped inTrinidad on there tour. Some other local guy was making fun of his name while Pex was in the back of the mini bus . When Pex realized he was making fun of him Pex jumped through the back quarter window getting in that kids face letting him know it’s Powerful Pexter remember that!!!! Lol then Mr Wave was talking to a fan out side the minivan was like wait ah min You jumped through the window. In disbelief. Nothing else became of it though .But Pex don’t take no Shit!!! B-boy for life!!!!!!
Powerful Pexter was such an inspiration for me! Thank You! Im almost 40 Years Old, still rockin it! keep rocking! Thank You for posting!!! Lots of Respect!! -Aloha

+theultimateleaker Oh i dunno kuriaki would have run him close back in the day, god rest his soul. But as a pair, they were the best.. Its only now as im older a lot older, lol. That one thing is certain that NYC breakers were better than RSC..crazy legs excluded as he is just a bboy legend.. But pex was way ahead of the game back then..

Mr."Powerful Pexster"!!...I was wondering if you had a copy of that beat you guys were getting down to when you all had your black and white Adidas warm-ups?when normski had on them short-shorts looking like he just got done golfing..if by any chance you do could you load that up please?...much love!!!!
YO, PEX YOU SHOULD DO A MUSIC VIDEO USING ("THE NEW YORK CITY BREAKERS") THEM SONG BY "US GIRLS!!" AND SHOW EACH ONE OF YOU IN THE VIDEO AS THEY CALL YOU GUYS OUT ONE AT, AT TIME!!! "I THINK THAT WOULD BE SOO DOPE!!" IF I WOULD DO IT,I WOULD USE THE SEENS FROM GRAFFITI ROCK ,OR MAYBE THE SEENS FROM BEAT STREET THE EDITING HAS TO BE ON POINT MY BROTHER!!!
i little slower homie but that comes with age. To still be able to bust out some moves is awsome. You are part of hip hop history. It sad these young cats to ignorant to know. Yo Pex, Its me Amoon / Sir Lord Comixx...we meet in nyc at the devils nest you and mr wave were there....We became friends and i remember hanging out with u and meeting charle chase and sammy syik,s cousin. How are u Hope to hear from u. Safe.
LEGEND!!! I was born in 70' and was a BBoy in North NJ from around 80-86 and Beat Street was THEE movie I watched over and over again!!! I have probably watched the infamous battle scene more than any part of any video or movie ever. And Pex's parts about my favorite! It's just the epitome of style and to me where the term "steez" should have originated from. TODAY'S BBoy's need to go back to the legends and re-look everything and be gone with all that ugly ass toe grabbin shit.
Inspiring video. I have found this video following a conversation with Mr. Wiggles about your dance history. Please link with me as I would like to hear your story Peace!
I understand where you coming from, but wasn`t Hip Hop started by Kool Herc and Bambaata? No-one stole your culture man, Hip Hop was the thing that helped bring cultures together. So what if other people took it to the masses. What matters is that originators like the NYC Breakers, Rocksteady, Second to None (UK) are recognized and given props for what they did and continue to do. Your comment only serves to push a wedge back between different groups and cultures. Peace and love, all the way.
hey man that's my man my friend pecsterpowerfull yes back in 1983 I meet him with little Alex introduced me to him in his house ok good person and next we went to chino action house ma and little Alex my old partner back then he was not down yet with the new York city breakers in cujo from the Bronx we had great times we was kids about 16 or 17 years of age in me and Alex was the next big thing in the Bronx when it came to breaking we was nice but rest in peace glide master died and they got Alex to get down wither and i stood alone and got with the rock syeafy crew crazyleggs my homeboy real name Richie clown from the Bronx puertoricans we love to breakdance but legs wad the best from our side of the hood man he was great fantastic all of this guys were and are my friends yes its true foreal.if anyone ever see little alex tell him his friend brother cujo his partner in ok well in done forknow take care people and if your see Alex tell him cujo seed what's good to hit me up text me ok thank you and be safe.
I could watch the older slower PP all day over the modern 'b-boy' style. I can't stand breaking these days as it's way too floor mat gymnastics now. It's all flares etc. Yea it's impressive what they can do but it lacks that rawness of the old skool style.
YOU DIDNT GET ANY BETTER ..SOMEONE HAS TO SAY THE TRUTH...THIS IS VERY UNINSPIRING TO ME AND DEPRESSING.....PEOPLE GIVING YOU EASY PROPS IS RUINS GROWTH..
I personally don't think you can make an accurate judgement by watching a short clip of him mostly going for the same move each time (windmill), which may have been the only thing he wanted us to see (to compare his windmills to how they were before). Moreover, he didn't show us many of his moves (might have been holiding back incase of biters or saving his new moves). My point is, a couple clips aren't that revealing
Much love and respect to powerful pexter! Im 42 and you couldn't pay me to get back out on a dance floor like I did 30 years ago! Todays generation owe you, crazy legs, icey ice,li'l lep, chino, kuriaki, mr.wave,etc. Much gratitude!

Its only now as im older a lot older, lol. That one thing is certain that NYC breakers were better than RSC..crazy legs excluded as he is just a bboy legend..

I would definitely include Ken Swift in that upper echelon.

That Beat Street move is one of the most stylish freeze. They lack that energy and flair in today's Gymnastics...I meant breaking.
