it is the 8 standard error / mistakes :)
1 Be sure you are not in Peaceful mode ;)
2 be sure the Spawning Zone is Dark :)
3 you Need to be 15 or less block away from the Spawner else they will not spawn :)
4 if you only get 6 and not much more mobs then you need to move the mobs more in 8 blocks away from the spawner :)
5 if some die and some need 2 or more hit to kill
the last block Before they drop down there shall NOT be water on :) for they jump on water :) look here 13:04
6 be sure the room before they fall down is only 2 block high, if it is 3 block high it is easy for them to jump down :)
7 let them drop 22 or 23 block down :)
8 if you go to far away they will disappear
9 all Zombies Need 2 hit to be kill :)

the spawner spawn 3-4 every 25 sec. = 500 per hour Approximately (if the spawner room is 9x9x5)

This makes the mobs shoot up through the upward moving bubbles. If the bubbles stop somewhere, you've missed a block. My tip would be to build the water elevator first and then place the soul sand block, because it is impossible to go down the elevator when the soul sand is placed below it"
By the way, if you're having trouble getting it all to be water source blocks then you can put a single source block at the top, then have kelp (which cannot be planted on soul sand so that will have to be changed first) planted all the way to the top. After that, remove the kelp and it should all be water source blocks.
I found this when I was making an elevator in my house, but yes, kelp can be planted in only water source blocks and flowing water going straight down, and when it's in the flowing it makes it into source.

Oh my, you are back!
You can put one water block at the top and a normal sand at the bottom then plant kelp all the way to the top to make all blocks in the elevator into source blocks. then destroy the bottom kelp and the whole lot stays as source (you can then add your soul sand)
I've been using 23 water blocks, the drop works well. For a zombie spawner: where they fall, put a normal block then a stone slab on top of that block (so 1.5 blocks high). 1 block above that put a ring of slabs, so there is only a half block gap. Since where the zombies fall is 1.5 blocks high they are easy to reach / attack / kill (one hit with a stone sword works). Since there is only a 0.5 block gap, the baby zombies can't escape. Many thanks to KaspersMC for the original design (have used it for years), and many thanks to Diedert Spijkerboer (don't make me try to pronounce that) for the design modification, works great.
Even coming back a few years later, this is still the most efficient, best presented, and easiest to follow mob grinder.

A quick way to build the water elevator is to place a waterblock at the top and at the bottom bottom and have a dirt block underneath the bottom water block. Then put a column of kelp in the water column. This converts all the blocks to water blocks. Remove the kelp and replace the dirt block at the bottom with a soul sand block and you have your water elevator.

I still use this design to this day, nothing beats it! Super easy yet super reliable. It works on Bedrock Edition too (right now 1.14.30) with some minor tweaks using a soul sand elevator because of update aquatic.

Started watching this mob xp farm tutorial again 5 years later to build it in MC 1.13 (snapshots). This is easily the best Minecraft tutorial I've watched. So easy to follow thanks to the 2D template so I don't have to watch the 3D one step by step, only at details. Thanks man! Hope it still works!

While we may have to make some adjustments due to recent game changes, this is IMO still one of the best videos for explaining the basic details of making a skelly mob grinder, how the spawn radius etc. works.
I often see people have made skelly grinders that are inefficient and I point them to this video and help them to improve the efficiency.
I once had a 4 spawner grinder that gave me hundreds of skellies made using the info from here but unfortunately entitycramming and the removal of zombie villagers from spawners made it so it was "just another grinder" lol

I love this video! I've used your blueprints for the basis of all of my Zombie and Skeleton farms for the past 2 years, and added my own flare to the design over time. I know it's been a while since you made a video, but can you please make a "super-deluxe" tutorial for a spider farm?
Works on PS4, except the mobs start falling to their death after about 20-30 of them stack up. I'm guessing it's a mob limit at work. So I have to stand there to clean them out as it goes. Still worth the trouble to make it though, just requires a bit more paying attention. Enchanting a book with level 30 only uses 3 levels, and it only takes like 2-3 minutes to get back to 30 from 27. So I set up an enchanting table nearby. Really easy. I remember when enchanting used all your levels. I don't miss that. Lol. I put a hopper underneath where they land and hooked it up to a chest to collect all the drops. I've been using this tutorial for years lol. Simple and very cheap. Good to have when you're just starting up on a world.

Only one slight adjustment needed if you want to use it with zombies.
The mini zombies can't get up in the water elevator, so they eventualy block the whole system.
To get the mini zombies drained away from the elevator, you can dig 1 extra block down at the bottom of the elevator, fill it with water and then mine to the side 1x1 high as far as you want them to go.
You can loop this 1x1 channel with water to the back of your killing chamber so you can kill the minis to.
Works perfect for me, i'm on 1.7.2.

I originally found this video 6 years ago. (Wow) I still find myself coming back to it whenever I start another Minecraft survival world and find a spawner. Thank you for this super easy to follow and well produced video. (With 1.3 you need to use soul sand on the bottom to produce an air jet instead of the sign/water elevator.)

This is a VERY good example of an tutorial video. I really hate people who make tutorial videos but talk only complete bullshit and the real tutorial often starts in the middle of the video, after 1-3 mints of BS talk.

It's amazing that this has held up for so long, but finally, the 1.13 update comes to ruin it. By the way, the design still works, you just have to use all water source blocks and some soul sand at the bottom.

It's 2017 and this still works like a charm in 1.12. I like building these just so I have an excuse to watch this awesome video again. If Mojang ever breaks the mechanics behind these mob spawner xp farms, there's going to be a lot of unhappy players, myself included!
