@@TReneeMathis Ma’am I’ve gone back and forth in my mind hoping that I didn’t hear clearly. All I can say now is it does get better day by day. Thanking God for knowing what is best and I remind myself that obedience is better than sacrifice.
Girl I cried when I found out the college I was going to suspended AKA and now I cry tears of joy our father shielded me from it. I didn’t understand it then and I don’t feel worthy of it now honey. This is definitely a heavy one. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
LaLa, you are so right ; being obedient is hard!! I was in an six year relationship with my boyfriend when God told me to stop having sex. Several times I ignored God.
Eventually the conviction from being disobedient was so heavy it forced me into submission. My boyfriend was not trying to live without a sexual relationship so that caused our relationship to end.
I was depressed for a year over the break up. After that year of grieving, I feel like my soul was healed . I no longer felt like l needed a man to love me. I also developed Christ like standards for myself. I learned that only Christ can complete me not a man.
I'm still single and very happy with my relationship with God. Christ is my everything!

"Ive been pulling you away for years and you have not noticed..." this was my experience before denouncing. SO many situations happened whether it was drama in the sorority, a scare from nationals, or beef between one org and another. I even had people try to attack my character while a part of the organization and yet all of this was God's doing...pulling me away from the sorority for years! I finally denounced earlier this year.

Baby I got cursed out, they were taking about me…and a few said we are proud follow God. My best friend never called me back since Nov 2021. Lots of tears soo many tears. But God!

I’ve been contemplating going back and forth about joining a BGLO and the voice of God has been telling me no, despite my desires. I’ve recently been getting back closer to God and this definitely was the confirmation I needed so thank you so much for sharing your story !

One thing that struck me was how hard it was for you to separate from the organization that you admit you always felt uneasy about, and disconnected with. I think it speaks a lot to the power these organizations have when we take an oath, no matter how small it may have seemed to us at that time.

Thank you for your transparency. I denounced Zeta after 20+ years a few years ago. Yes I cried and the women I pledged with cried. They still don’t understand even though I tried to explain. So of course the friendships have changed. But you must follow God no matter who it separates you from. I used to go to chapter meetings and felt the same way especially after I did a family deliverance prayer since I had family members who were part of Eastern Star and Masonry. I broke the covenants they made not realizing I had to break my own. It was hard but obedience is better than sacrifice.
I even had a friend who helped me see this and then she turned and joined a military sorority 🤦🏾♀️. I asked her about it and she said she didn’t see it as being bad…. Oh goodness.
God bless you in your obedience and the freedom is exhilarating.
Whew. You don’t realize how much I needed to hear this. Especially “You must follow God no matter who it separates you from”.. I think I’m scared of who it will remove from my life. Granted I know the people that God removes are intentional.. but still! 😫 And wow! The prayer part! I didn’t even know I was in a covenant with Delta until God clearly said it that same night He asked me to denounce. Recently, I prayed a few renouncing prayers and prayers to break my covenant. Literally the first time I’ve had to pray those type of prayers so I was a bit out of my element. But I knew the Holy Spirit said I need to pray them and I certainly feel free now. 🙌🏽 Thank you for watching and commenting. 🤎
Yes I even did a deliverance fast from old soul ties and Greeks would pop up in my dreams. Girl this spiritual deliverance is no joke. I was scared as well because I have difficulty in letting people go but we are too look to Him for approval not man. I feel the loss of people in my life but I know I have gained so much with God.

This was beautiful. I felt just like you when I was recruited to pledge in college but i said no out of obedience to God and looking back on it 20 years later I realize it was one of the best decisions I made. I seen so many BLATANTLY demonic and evil things in Greek life and I was wise enough to want no parts of that crazy idolatry and foolishness in my life thank God!!! I was groomed by my church to become Greek but God's power was stronger and showed me how flawed and lost my old church was.

Yes boo! And just FYI your former sorority on my campus were making innocent girls drink bleach and slapping them for forgetting history which resulted in a 7 year suspension. I don't know how anyone with self respect and morality could call them sisters .... stay up and life will only get better without being affiliated with that type of toxicity and foolishness in your life.

Last night I was sad about a number of things God is telling me to walk away from & honestly I tried to forget what he said and while watching a different video of yours I saw this one beneath it. I watched this thinking you would have an easy, uplifting answer about how to be obedient when God calls you to hard things. I realize while watching this that there is no easy answer it’s just meant to be hard 💔
Yes but God will walk with you through it. I released this vid a year ago and looking back, I’m SO thankful that God told me to walk away. When you’re in the moment, it won’t fully make sense. But I promise.. if you be obedient and keep following God.. you’ll be AMAZED at how God can transform your life! He’s molding you into the Kingdom woman that He has predestined you to be. Just trust this molding process, Sis. It’s all for your good. 🤎
I found this video last night. And it blessed my greatly. I did not pledge in college so that is not what drew me, it was the obedience!!! To be obedient to Christ is our greatest challenge in life. We all have areas that we must surrender to Christ. I actually sent this to 5 woman that I believe will be blessed by your testimony. You have a new follower. Keep living your life for Jesus Christ. You are a key component to the building of God’s kingdoms. 💜

Proud of you sis! Just followed you on IG. I went out twice for a sorority and when I look back, I know God was protecting me. It's funny because I'm writing a devotional now for college girls and I talk about this in one of the prayers. I point them to RUclips for videos like this to get the clarity they need. Stay strong!

Praise God for your obedience! I denounced Delta December 2021 and received my official paperwork. This walk isn’t easy but I remember asking God to remove anything & anyone from my life that was not of him & he did just that! Obedience was a word that kept coming to mind while I was going through the process of formally leaving the organization.

I've watched a few of these denouncing videos.... and this is by far the most vulnerable I've seen anyone be. Most folks seem to present as if they're on cloud 9 but I sense a great sadness even from them because the org, the relationships, the people, etc has all been such a huge part of you guys and gurls lives. I sent my letter today, and needed some encouragement because it has been rough for me today. I have cried like a baby. I have told my therapist it feels like a divorce. So big thank you for posting. It truly helped me have a little more closer. Still hard but I’m moving forward in obedience.

I almost joined a sorority in college but didn’t but had recently been entertaining the idea again. I was journaling about about all the things I wish I had done differently and the Lord clearly said if I had joined it would have had a strong hold on me. It shook me so much and this was something I almost did almost 12 years ago. I didn’t ask why, felt a bit salty but He definitely said what He said and I left it at that. Thinking back I’m sure my identity would have been wrapped up in it and I’m grateful He protected me even when I didn’t realize it. Thank you for your transparency and vulnerability. God bless you.

When there's the will to do God's will, it's never hard. That yearning & desire to let go of sin supercedes what we think & feel in holding on to it when the focus is completely on God. When we want God more than what we want for ourselves, the floodgates burst open instead of the drops that we're waiting for to pore through one bucket at a time. Seek ye first the kingdom of God & His righteousness & ALL things will be added unto you. We go for the "All these things" firstly then seek God & His righteousness & wonder why it don't work out. The approach stops the approach.
I have to be transparent and say I saw denouncing videos back in 2008. I knew better. And God surely held me accountable when I joined 11 years later. I denounced DST and I am at peace!

HOLY SPIRIT it was only by Your Doing that I saw this. The struggle is real BUT I declare it being DONE ONCE AND FOR ALL in the NAME OF JESUS!! Simply bcuz God knew the appointed time that I would need 2 see & feel this 1, after I looked 4 the recent link posted with u and Malissa Blair titled “Now What, After Delta” 😩
I now kno I am back on the right path in God & will never look back or be double minded again about leaving these Covenants behind me. (coven = a gathering of witches or warlocks) 🤯
And just being transparent, Delta runs deep in my family! I hav at least 7 Aunts, 10 cousins, several Godmothers, Church members and my 1st Niece (who I bought over) r Delta’s. Being raised in the South was just common knowledge that Black fraternities & sororities were a part of our community & a lifetime commitment…
As soon as I was old enough, my Aunts enrolled me in “Delta Teens” (I was like 10 years old😅 not even a teenager yet) and had me doing community service in the name of Delta.
So this is like leaving a family 4 real, plus the best of friends I made in college by the way of Delta since Spring of 1995 😮💨😮💨😮💨

I have not been active in Delta for years but have cousins in college who decided to join Greek and looked up to me. God definitely has other plans.

I’ve always wanted to pledge. I remember my pastor preaching about serving two masters and idolatry. That’s what made me change my mind, and I’m so glad I obeyed. Wow, I share so many similarities with your testimony. I was looking into getting back active and researching grad chapters when God started speaking to me about denouncing. I was involved for 13 years before I denounced in 2018. I did a lot of crying too. It's a very emotional process. It gets a lot easier. I've never felt more free or more like myself.

La the part where you said, "Look at this time span. I've been pulling you away and you haven't noticed" spoke to my soul. Now I am not apart of any sorority BUT there's a friend of mine I have had since HS and God has speaking to me through different experiences and emotions/feelings regarding this person. As soon as you said that, her name came to my head. I honestly have been struggling with letting that relationship completely go even though things are clearly not the same. I am healing from my people pleasing ways and I know I have made that person an "idol" in my life. God is a jealous God. He MUST be #1. That is why it is so hard to let go and there is a need to remove those things completely from our lives. God bless you my sister 🙏🏾 Continue the good fight.

I am so glad that you were obedient to God. I pray that He continues to reveal why we all had to denounce. Remember Exodus 34:14 we have allowed these Greek organizations to be little gods in our lives. God is calling His children's to come from among them. You may be crying now, but you will understand more and more as He reveals. If you get a chance, look at the teaching Fred Price Jr. did on Greek organizations. Grace and peace!

Thank you for your testimony! I'm not in a sorority, but I felt that when you said its either you or the sorority. Yep that was me except it was either God or a man (knew him since I was a kid). I chose God too and we made the best choice! Ezra 10:3 (also about divorce amazingly enough) & 1 Samuel 16:1 (to help with your healing). The song Jehovah Jireh, got me through, I'd be in the car crying and shouting, whew chile! It gets better, and God is so proud of you and will reward your obedience✨✨ 2022 is the year of RADICAL obedience

I thank God for your obedience in denouncing Delta and also posting this video. I denounced Delta and fully withdrew from the sorority in 2018. This was a much needed reminder that obeying God is not in vain. Although we may receive backlash for obeying God, He can and will use our testimonies of obedience to deliver others. Oh my goodness 🥲🙏🏾 I denounced in September as well from SGRHO and it was the most emotional thing ever. I watched that video and SEVERAL OTHERS. Whew chile! God said so clearly to leave and I cried for days wondering why me!! I was prophesied to leave and God gave me very specific scriptures and directions. I’m here from Ohio, moved in 2019. Super active…It’s alot and I’m trying to sift thru the awkwardness. BUT YAHWEH🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Wow, so powerful! I subscribed to your channel a while back because of your personality but also because you were affiliated with this organization at the time. I was scrolling through Facebook today and came across someone sharing this video, and I was so shook to see you had denounced. I am not a member of any organization but I have been very confused and straddling the fence. You have blessed me and I’m glad you spoke on obedience rather than going into full detail about parts of the organization that are not of God. I will say this video brought me to tears. God bless you for doing this and making a video about it. I have idolized black Greek letter organizations for most of my life and felt tempted to join one multiple times. I asked God why another Christian was a part of one and I couldn’t be in one and he led me to your video. I realize that it is very against the will of God for MY life to be a part of one due to it possibly taking the place of Him and there being things in it that is not of him. I remember one time in the recent past that he spoke to me about watching Greek step shows because I was addicted to it and I realized that what they sing about and do doesn’t line up with His word. I wanted to pledge so bad in undergrad but ended up getting pregnant at the time the line was starting. My cousin, who was also my roommate, crossed and I had my heart set on grad chapter. Until recently, it was a goal still but finding these videos made me think more deeply about WHY i wanted to be in it and now i no longer want to.

Me renouncing Was easy because God showed me “truth” shortly after. God doesn’t make mistakes and over time He is patient and even when you are rebelling he covers you with grace. I begged God for the sorority only to be thankful for that grace and mercy to leave it alone. Your sorority don’t get you no job and you are hated just for saying you in a different clique like hs. My advice talk to God in HS and pray for divine direction and protection. Walk alone until God leads you to Godly praying friends in college and keep your 700 and months of sleep.

When I hear folks start talking about denouncing their Fraternity or Sororities it’s from the stand that the fraternity is being worshipped in the place of God. But your situation was totally different. I mean if that’s how they feel ok. However to hear you say. God said choose makes sense even more than you know. So I support your decision I know I don’t know you. But if you really love God and wanna follow after him with all of your being then the choice is obvious. But no less painful.
