- 1. Deflects with Iron Fortress do massively more posture damage. 2. No stagger or knockback on deflects. 3. Deflect while sprinting. 4. Immunity to burn or terror damage. 5. You can punish combos that the Kusabimaru cannot.

It was un unvaluable against Demon of Hatred because it can completely negate it's AOE attack in the second and third fase, but I didn't know it could block the Ape's AEO, that's terrific

I couldn't agree more :) It's among the cheapest Shinobi tools as well...1 spirit emblem is totally wicked paired with Projected Force! Sekiro easy mode!
Damn dude thanks Im definitely trying that against the Sword Saint. The second phase just kills me amd leaves me nothing for the third phase.
If talking 4 phases, I can do 1 and 2 in seconds sometimes but the rest is hard.
@@Baracuda520 Oh definitely! The Genichiro and sword only phase are both easy its when he pulls out the spear that Im inconsistent with. Ive managed to get through it once but now Im stuck there again on my second playthrough. Its driving me nuts.

@@Baracuda520 I finally beat him earlier today. I tried that method but it just didn't work for me. I ended up hitting him with oil and then blasting him with a charged flame vent attack. The one you need pine resin for. That got him below half vitality and then I was able to deflect just enough to break his posture. In the third phase I baited the leap and punished the miss and sent his lightning back at him. That phase went smooth as butter.

I haven't played this but that combat looks more smooth than other souls games.
It's the best combat, feels like a dance and aggression really gets rewarded
It's because since you only get one main weapon, they're able to focus on it and flesh it out more and also add extra features into the combat.

Its so good for fighting multiple enemies in a game that doesn't want you fighting multiple enemies. I remember using it when fighting 3-4 of the red elites who dual wield swords. The parry window is so good. Combine that with project force and its just so useful. Easily the best prosthetic, only given competition by the flame vent.
The follow up attack does way too much posture damage especially when you are able to block attacks with the umbrella before it. If not for the, you know, easy counter, consider getting it for the attack, it's a thing of beauty.
Honestly it makes the game x50 better by simply being a direct upgrade to the regular reflect, the fact that you don't get knocked back by certain attacks like Corrupted Monk's final hit of her beyblade combo is so useful to get better positioning and more damage in. Essential for any player
Did you save scum for the endings or ng+? Either way, good showing what an upgraded tool can do
No I just kept progressing through NG+ cycles. I think savescumming hurts you in the long run if you want to get the platinum achievement because the amount of experience you need to unlock every skill is insane. It took me to the end of NG+6 where bosses were giving between 50k-75k xp per kill to finally unlock all my skills which was my last achievement for platinum.

Thats why when they modded DS3 with Sekiro's stuff i Umbrella'd my way into the Gale's guts.

No in fact all of these clips were taken in NG+4 and NG+5 where I was going for Purification and Shura endings (I messed up my second playthrough when trying for Return and got Severance twice lol). The insane posture damage is just the power of the loaded umbrella and one of the main highlights about the tool. It’s an excellent boss killing prosthetic, the best in my opinion.

Pretty sure you press either the attack button or the deflect button while the umbrella is out
With an upgraded umbrella, while holding the button to have it out, every time you press the block/deflect button it spins for a bit and anything that hits while it spins will be deflected perfectly, every spin costs another emblem
You hold ctrl and press right click ?

It's only downside: It's boring as fuck.
Totally disagree, blocking attacks with the umbrella is sick as fuck, specially if you combo it with other attacks
is useful but it really takes out the fun of dodging
