    We used a salamander heater my husband had in the garage .we purchased a temp Gage for $1.00 at the. Dollar store. And sparyed alcohol 91% before and after we heat treated . The temp went way way above the Gage . We let the salamander run and run while we set outside . We haven't seen any bed bugs for over six months now !

    Had a bed bug infestation and tried almost everything and the only thing that got rid of them was purple can of raid called raid max bed bug and flea killer totally destroyed the bed bugs and cleared the house. Every now and then I spray just in case but have not found any dead they are completly gone cheap and you see results right away hope this post helps someone cause I know the stress of having bes bugs especially with kids in the house.

      A few years back, I tried that, Got rid of them for a second, but they eventually came back. The 91% rubbing alcohol works for a second, but once it dries and goes away, they come back to where they sense you. Bed Bugs sense you by body heat. And they usually come around in the summer time. I bought over 2500 worth of replacing furniture 3 times, in that one apartment on top of using the raid, but my landlord ended up just letting me out my lease do to this, Now I know there is finally a new tenant in the apartment, I hope they are good. BTW I got the bed bugs from taking a kitchen table set out of a neighbors apartment. I hate these little shits. SO annoying.

      Raid and rubbing alcohol work exactly the same. Only kill on contact but will not work on eggs and those hiding deep in cracks and crevices. And bed bugs do not sense you on body heat but the carbon dioxide leaving your body.

      If you're in a setting where you have a landlord I suggest you contact a lawyer. Chances are that it's the landlords fault therefore they are financially responsible for extermination or replacement of items.

      Buy some 'temprid sc' it's made bayer, it costs about $70 for a 400ml bottle which can create 50 gallons of mix and is one of the best products on the market right now for killing off all stages of chemically resistant bedbugs. It may take a couple of tedious applications but it will kill off the infestation. The problem with living in a apartment/condo is that you are most likely not the only one with a infestation, there are probably several other units with infestations that will have to be treated diligently at the same time(s). Hope this helps you and if you plan on giving up and moving to another place then make sure you don't the infestation to your new home. It's expensive but it's best to leave any sheets, linens, bedding and any clothing that will be housing the bugs that could re-infest your new home. Good luck!

    Declutter, clean, vacuum till you blue in the face. Steam steam and steam some more. Encase your mattress and box spring. Spray with crossfire. Dust with Cimexa. Spray crossfire again in two or three weeks. I won the war with this method. I spray crossfire monthly and dust with Cimexa twice a year. The first week will be hell on you but in the end it’ll be worth it. I most likely picked up the bastards traveling and initially freaked out. Now I’m more careful when traveling and if I get them again, they wont survive long.

    i got rid of them in a few days, burned everything including pillows and covers, steam cleaned the whole room, then sprayed home defense around the room, when that dried, i but a roach killer powder that contains borax acid behind every baseboard. Haven't seen any in the other rooms of the house, but i did extra cleaning with dry steam, and put the roach killer behind all baseboards, even tho i didn't see any on the other beds, i dry steamed them and sprayed the matresses with peppermint flea and tick killer, you can buy it in the dog supply area of wal mart, cost 6 bucks an is harmless, i had actually grabbed it first and sprayed some on the infested mattress and it did kill the ones i saw, but i freaked and torched it all, i blamed my daughter cause she had moved back home and sometimes she stays with friends in motels over the weekend, so she came home one day with no bed, an i made her take all her clothes to the laundry mat, cause i sure wasn't going to wash all them. So all is good now, but i still dry steam the all mattresses eack week when i change the sheets, and the all stuffed furniture. Will i do this weekly for the rest of my life? Probably

    I just wanted to pass along that the rubbing alcohol WORKS!!! We drug all the matresses and box springs outside the day after I found and watched this video and saturated them. We got to see exactly how BAD the infestation was. The alcohol killed them on contact just as the video had said. We sprayed the carpets and walls with the alcohol as well (boy, talk about a head rush x_x). It only took a single treatment to get rid of them all. I really can't thank y'all enough for this vid! :D

      Yeah that works. Heat kills

  • @ddland45
    @ddland45 6 лет назад +23

    There are only two things that work against bed bugs: Steam and 91% rubbing alcohol. There is no point in wasting thousands of dollars on exterminators(unless you have a massive infestation) or expensive chemicals that simply cannot kill EVERY bed bug, larvae and egg in one application.
    Alcohol is CHEAP compared to other chemicals and just as effective, if not more so. Alcohol kills on contact, no if's, buts, or caveats. Steam also is CHEAP and effective. Bed bugs cannot withstand that kind of heat and it can penetrate through fabrics and get into cracks and crevices, just like alcohol. Expensive heat 'treatments' don't work because the rise in temperature in your home only chases the bed bugs to the outer walls of your home behind the insulation where the heat can't reach them.
    Vacuum everywhere you find bed bugs, then either SATURATE the suspected areas with alcohol with a spray bottle set for STREAM. Use the alcohol on cracks, crevices, creases in furniture, zippers, along the edges of carpets and baseboards, the frames of box springs, etc.
    Wash clothes and dry them with the hottest settings in your dryer. Remember that ANY gap/crack between parts of furniture can be hiding places and breeding grounds for bed bugs. The legs of your dining room table, couch, etc. have gaps that bed bugs can get into. Even your gaming consoles can be hiding places (don't spray alcohol on any electric device that is ON or PLUGGED IN!!!).
    The war on bed bugs must continue until there is NO bug, larvae or egg left alive anywhere in your home. Failure to kill every last one will result in an eventual resurgence and you'll have to start all over.

    I had a bad case of bed bugs but I been using that ortho home defense brand of bed bug spray and its made a huge difference in my house . I always try to spray once a week and it made it to where I barely even notice any bed bugs around . I might feel a bite once every now and then but that ortho brand is where its at and I had a severe case of bed bugs . I been spraying with it for the past 6 months and it seems to be doing the job . hell I'll probably spray my room down this evening just to be on the safe side . it also works pretty fast ! If you spray the bed and the floor around the bed for the first time you wont get chewed to pieces by them little bastards . you just gotta stay on point with spraying and it works pretty damn good

    Someone posting here said only heat will get rid of bed bugs. That's simply wrong. I had them in my bed and I used Diatomaceous Earth or DE. From the minute I put the powder on the mattress and boxsprings and covered with plastic, as well as putting it around the bed, I didn't have another bite. I didn't have a huge infestation because I couldn't see any residue of bugs on the mattress or anywhere. I saw no bed bugs period. So I didn't put the powder around every single baseboard in the home. I only put the powder around the computer chair, sofa, toilet and bed, where I am most. I'm not having any problem with them since and still haven't seen one. As soon as I put the powder down, not one more bite in the bed or elsewhere. DE works period. It's cheap. I got it at Home Depot for $8-9. The powder works because it dries out their skin, which is their respiratory system. Here's another tip. If you buy things from a thrift store, leave the bag in the heat of your car for 4 days, depending on how hot it is at that time of year. Don't take used items indoors without letting the heat of the car kill anything that may be on them.

      Maybe you had somehing else causing you bites if you never found them, and got rid of them with DE alone.. Those fuckers are like tiny little ninjas... You'll think ya got em all, then find a whole new row of bites, and a bug fat on your blood. When I found them in me and my boyfriend's mattress I thought that we were lucky and had found them in time because we only found like 8 adults, the rest nymphs.. also our mattress hardly had any staining...We're poor so we tried to pull a do it yerself.. Big mistake! Unless you really can't afford it just call in the experts. A lot of the otc sprays will just cause them to hide better..like it your fucking walls, and electric outlets. Biggest mistake we made was sleeping in a different room...we basically just spread them around our house. Then they become impossible to find because they're all spread out. We're getting our second treatment in 2 days.. Feeling much better.. I had so many panic attacks from this mess. Then I went to stay with my sister and now I'm worried I brought them there even though I put all my stuff in the dryer and stuff.. Just tough it out... whatever you do, don't sleep in a different location.. Big mistake.

    I put a bed bug in a plastic zip lock bag and then poured quite a bit of the Diatomaceous earth in the bag. Shook the bag well so the bug was covered. Checked every hour for 4 hours and the bug was still very much alive. Checked the next day and it was still alive. I got some well known O***o Self Defense insect killer from one of the big hardware stores and tried the same experiment as before. I put a bed bug in a zip lock bag and then sprayed a slight amount of the insect killer into the bag. Within 30 seconds, the bug was dead as a door nail. I sprayed it on some bed bugs that were along the baseboard and all of them were dead within a minute. The spray has no odor and it goes quite a long way. I suppose that there are other brands on the market that will be just as effective, so just compare the labels. I sprayed heavily around the baseboards and the bottom of my box springs and furniture everyday for a week and haven't seen any bed bugs in the last month. It is best to get up in the middle of the night and spray because they are pretty much dormant during the daylight hours. You might be shocked at what you see at night. Look on the walls and the ceiling when you spray. Make sure you smash the little bastards...or spray them directly. You should use a heavy duty shop vac with a bag inside everywhere you can reach every day for a couple of weeks. Make sure you remove the bag outside of the house and burn it if you can. This is just my personal experience.

    Yes the alcohol absolutely works. There are different grades of alcohol for sale. You want the 91% or over. Otherwise it is watered down. Then you need a REAL sprayer. Not the one you wet your head with. The kind with the bottle hose and wand that you pump up. They are inexpensive and buy the alcohol by the gallon or bigger. All this at the hardware store. Buy several ggallons of the strongest isopropyl alc you can get. Then spray the ever living shit out of everything over and over.

    Yeah, I found it odd how in the video it says that DE kills them on contact. This isn't really true. It kills Bed Bugs in up to 10 days, depending on how active they are. BBs tend to be a little less active in the winter, and it can take up to a month to kill a single "generation" of them off. It's far from killing them "on contact". However, it WILL kill them all eventually, as long as it's not vacuumed/washed away.

    Has to be 91% alcohol, and it will kill eggs and bugs, but also get a heat steamer and steam the bed and every crevice, it might get wet, but better than infested. Encase your mattress, get rid of all clutter, put what you can in the dryer. Clean everyday, even twice. My building got infested, I got rid of them while every other apt suffered.

    ***Sunlight my friends, sunlight :) Daily during sunny days, windows of a bedroom wide open for several hours with bedding hanging out of the windows. Have you seen those pictures of our grandmothers? Homes with the bedroom windows facing south or the east will also benefit from hours of sunshine eliminating bedbugs for you, providing you are not silly enough to make up your bed right after you get up. Average adult will perspire over one litre of liquid during the night, if you cover it up with blankets and leave, you created perfect incubator for bed bugs.

Go to Lowes® or Home Depot® and buy the Raid® Bed bug & flea fogger. Throw away your furniture. Let it go! Bomb every 6 days for 24 days and line your baseboards with boric acid. But I don't see him scratching no nothing and I rarely see any bumps on him but they always attack me? So are they attacking me because we have different blood types or somethings ?

Not sure why the video says to wear that stuff people eat it to get rid of parasites inside them and farmers spead it on some foods to kill other bugs only thing is you cant get it wet....but IT WORKS GREAT.....got rid of mine using it

    • @jonprichard9478

      Jason Mckennon Sorry to bring this thread back to life, but eating something and breathing something in are two different processes. When you eat something that something ends up in your stomach, the walls of which are pretty strong. When you breath something in, it goes into your lungs, which are full of small membranous sacks (alveoli) that allow for oxygen transfer to the blood. So when you breath in DE, it can embed itself into the alveoli. This causes some stuff to happen (I'm not an expert, but it causes the formation of collagen around the alveoli) which decrease effectiveness of oxygen transfer at the membranes. With the alveoli less effective, oxygen intake is diminished (which is bad). Other stuff happens too, like an increased chance for tuberculosis.
      If you have ever heard of the disease Black Lung (it was an issue for miners back in the day) this is very similar to it. Here is some more information if you are interested en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicosis.
      TL;DR Regardless of being food quality, DE still has a negative impact on your lungs, so be careful when handling it frequently.

    1) the old remedy used a chemical that caused their shells to get too thin to live, it also caused bird egg shells to get too thin to live nearly killing off the Bald Eagle.
    2) more specific pesticides can be adapted to. While they don't kill anything other than the target bug, I won't kill ALL of that type, and the survivors will breed more that won't be affected.

    diatomaceous earth doesn't kill on contact, is kills shortly AFTER contact. The bugs have wax between the plates of their shell to lubricate them, the powder gets between the plates and scrapes off the wax. The joints then get damaged some locking, some 'blowing out' causing the bug equivalent of bleeding. The bugs have to move for it to work.

    Try using "Diatomaceous Earth food grade" on all cracks around house (floorboards) invest in about 5 bottles of 91% rubbing alcohol (it does work) spray only those you see directly
    seal all mattresses and put some of the D.E. in them for safe measure - 2-3 mil large bags can be purchased in bulk for clothing and paper products (that thick to avoid tears) each bag of items add a bit D.E. they should eventually die unless neighbors also have them D.E. can be bough in feed stores or online

  • @graffffik
    @graffffik 11 лет назад

    Yes if you are just randomly applying it - such as base-boards etc - do note these have to actually walk over the area, and their eggs - to get additional try glue-traps or beddybugs (they're cheap on ebay) to try to trap some of the stragglers - however glue strips (for ants / roaches / rats / mice etc) pretty much all work equally as well and are cheap - also with D.E. open all wall outlets and light switches and spray ample amounts in there it won't hurt them

    Put Diatemateous Earth around your baseboards in the entire house. Get a Bed Bug Mattress and Box Spring protective cover. They can't bite through these. Available at Walmarts or any shopping centers. These bugs can put you through psychological changes if not treated in someway. USE FABRIC SOFTENER SHEETS AND PUT THEM UNDER YOUR MATTRESS and under couch pillows. Replace the sheets before the scent wears out. This really works better than the sprays anyone recommends.
