Bed bugs can really mentally wreck you because of sleep Deprivation! And when you can’t sleep it really screws you up mentally. I’m going through this right now I hate the SOBs
I feel you!! Me too! What I don't understand is how the hell I got them to begin with. I'm a home body, I don't go to people's houses. They just randomly showed up. My home is SUPER clean to. This is a freaking nightmare. I've sprayed, used sticky traps, baking soda and more an yet they still continue to show up. 😡
@@alwaysstrapped814 If you had visitors you can pick them up that way. Or if you like go to a store blanket hijack get on you after they crawled on somebody else it is super easy to get the home. Hotels and if you don’t do hotels you just probably picked it up while you was out and about. Because they fall off of peoples clothes. And they are horrible and hard to get rid of my husband and I hast to have a heat treated will be doing that soon
If you live in apartments they can also come through the outlets through the other apartment. This is one of the reasons I’m glad I don’t live in an apartment no more. They even had them at a dentist office in my town. Crazy and then they had an infestation at a place that you take drivers test to get your license so someone there probably brought them in when I sit down to eat called off their clothes and got on somebody else
@@kyler791 we are We’re working on getting rid of clutter first we’ve got the money gathered up for the heat treatment we’re just needing to get the clutter out of here. They like clutter
I got them traveling. On a 14 day road trip. I freaked out and was angry looking to kill somebody. Out of desperation I called a pest control company. They quoted me almost 5k for a heat treatment. When cooler heads prevailed, I hunkered down. Declutter, clean, vacuumed twice a day. Steam, steam and steam some more. Good thing I posses a commercial vapor cleaner. Also used an iron and a spray bottle of water. Saturate an area and go over with the iron, the water turned to steam. Go slow and be patient. I did this during a heat wave and I was in a sauna. Encase your mattress and box spring. Spray with crossfire and dust with Cimexa. Repeat in about two weeks with the crossfire. The war was won in less than a week. Now I spray crossfire quarterly and dust twice a year.
Thanks! I assume these products are toxic? I'm asking because one has breathing challenge here. Had you previously tried Diatomaceous Earth? I used that and alcohol last yr and had no problem for 14 mos.--but now I think they're back. Never ever found one--& haven't now. Just had the bites--got free of them. Now bites are showing up again.
Am wondering about the vacuum. I've read that unless they have a HEPA filter vacs all spew dust into the air. So wondering then- wouldn't it spray eggs around some? Is it possible to clean a vacuum thoroughly inside??
The eggs are not so tiny that they would pass through a vacuum cleaner bag. Vacuum cleaner bags are supposed to allow only air to pass through, but trap everything else, including dust, of course. The eggs will get trapped in a vacuum cleaner bag. But the bag needs to be removed immediately after you finish vacuuming, and then sealed in a plastic bag and thrown into the trash dumpster immediately. The vacuum cleaner HOSE could possibly hold some eggs. So, it would be good to maybe spray a bed bug spray into the end of the hose while the vacuum is turned on, to suck the spray through the hose - perhaps? I'm just thinking. Or, if the hose is plastic or vinyl, one could wash it through with a powerful flow of water like from a garden hose outside.
To prevent bedbugs after you sweep your floor if you have carpet is add a dusting of baking soda. It actually dries them up. It does the same for flea and ticks even kissing bugs if they land on your carpet.
@@sebastienseb919 i mean they have gills like a fish and in order to breath they need moister. so to suffocate them you need to dry out there gills. if it a roach you cloud dry out there inners my 1 part backing soda to 2 parts sugar.
This is best DIY video I’ve found regarding bed bugs. I bought all of the products listed in this video, hopefully I can report good news in a few weeks.
Good video and advice. We haven't had bedbugs, but I know someone who might. They asked me how to get rid of them because I worked in pest control once. I didn't have a good answer. We did termite and roach control.
I had bed bugs for two years, tried everything but those tenacious creatures kept popping up again. Finally I threw out my bed and replaced it with a box spring that had a plastic cover over it. Each night I would spray the plastic with Raid bed bug foaming spray and eventually they disappeared. I had also vacuumed thousands of dead bed bugs from the carpet, it was hard to believe how infested my bedroom was.
@@solutionspestandlawn You are welcome. Yes I have been in the clear for 7 months and I still spray about once a week out of precaution. I live alone in a house and my bedroom is the only room that was affected. Here in Las Vegas there is an epidemic of bed bugs and every hotel on the strip has had bed bug reports so anyone coming here on vacation should check the mattress for bed bugs upon entering your room..
I've had bed bugs for 2 months now we've vacuumed, heated up the room, used tea tree oil, use powder that kills them, washed clothes and they STILL keep coming back
That’s a real shame. I enjoy inviting random homeless men to my house to sit on my bed for a few hours. Guess I’ll have to find a new form of entertainment.
Bedbugs can kill only with heat if you have heat gun (something like hair dryer but much stronger) start to heat every single corner of baseboard and bed frame mattress just remember to move your hand frequently otherwise you can make a fire, only high heat can kill the eggs that's why this method is %100 if you do this truly I guarantee your house should be free of bedbugs,I did this and I don't have bedbugs any more if you live in apartment complex ask your Nighbour to do the same . Good luck
I fought bedbugs for 3yrs, at a house rented but not looked at. The 2nd month being there, I killed one and never seen one. I was 62, did not know what I had smacked with it full of my blood. I took it to my roommate of 10yrs and she told me what it is. Too many, too late and the land lord accused me of lying, said we brought them. Into the 4th year we moved out, our beds, furniture, clothes, trashed. Do not rent any residence by sight unseen.
I lost a Bible a friend had given me, we rented a home that did not have them, but a new room mate had them n the crossed the hall n it was horrible, no longer renting there, but one room mate carried them to her sisters home...
@@raygreen5926 after a year and a half. They literally can live that long without feeding. That more likely will try to move elsewhere to find someone to feast on.

Bedbugs don't care if you're rich or poor. It doesn't matter if you keep an immaculate house, because you're at risk of carrying one back home everytime you leave your house. To the everage person it is costly to hire an exterminator. It's also expensive to buy everything you need to get rid of them yourself, not to mention it is a lot of work over a long period of time. The worst hit are the ones who can least afford it because places such as public and low income housing rarely hire professional exterminators and they hire inexperienced building managers. And if course tenants can't afford to buy everything necessary to get rid of them. Most can barely afford to live there. I guess my point is please don't judge those dealing with a bedbug situation. It is a nightmare. It cost us over $1400 for an exterminator service and we did most of the work ourselves. We moved ever single item out to the backyard. After spraying everything we covered/sealed it all in black plastic and let it sit out in the desert sun (100+°) for two weeks. Washed or steamed all clothes and anything with cloth. Vacuumed, scrubbed, and vacuumed over and over again. Everything was inspected and wiped down and vacuumed before bringing each item back inside. Oh, we also slept on sealed mattresses on metal cots on cot islands (surrounded with diatomaceous earth.) Everyone showered and washed clothes a couple times daily. It took months. That happened about 3 years ago. Like I said, please don't judge, and if you suspect you have them... get going right away because it gets worse and more costly every day. Good luck. 🤍
Last week because of my anger I put the bed frame outdoor then I spill some hot water on the parts where the bed bugs are hidding and They died instantly. After that, I exposed the bed frame under the sun all day.
This is actually one of the best videos I've seen in regards to bed bug treatment and prevention. I've had bed bugs on and off for the past several years. Eventually I had to hire professional exterminators. They're extremely difficult to get rid of on your own. It's possible, but only recommended if you have a small infestation. I tried doing it with a combination of steam, pesticide, and DE Powder, but they always came back with avengeance! For any infestation medium to large, it's recommended to hire an exterminator. It took 4 treatments and they killed them all over the course of a couple months with Temprid FX. No more bed bugs now. Those exterminators gave me my peace of mind back. And now I have similar equipment with Temprid FX, just in case they ever come back. Btw Crossfire is supposed to be even better! But I couldn't get it in my state, so Temprid FX was the second best option. And yes, Crossfire and Temprid FX continue killing after being sprayed!
And to anyone suffering from a bed bug issue. Please do make sure you clean and declutter your room. Vacuum, get mattress encasements, and keep your bed away from the wall or other furniture. Make sure your blanket and other sheets don't touch the floor, and put interceptors with DE Powder under your bed legs. Fighting bed bugs is a war of attrition. And you're in it for the long haul. Good luck.
Have had an infestation before and probably dealing with one now, so wanted to give a tip about doing your self-inspection of your house: be VERY thorough. Use a flashlight or other bright light, and look VERY closely. Do not move your gaze too quickly, because I've found you can miss telltale signs that way. Sometimes blood/feces specks look just like a piece of dirt on the floor, and vice versa. Otherwise you take the risk of thinking you have nothing, and assuming that you've got off scot-free. a good thing to look for though is blood spots on your mattress and/or pillow. That is an almost for-sure sign. You almost don't even have to look for anything beyond that, if you find those, if you are just trying to confirm you have the bugs.
Everyone is talking about bed and the one thing I haven't heard was couch what can I do about that it doesn't come apart what do you do for it they have all this stuff out saying use this no use this now a friend of mine has them in the couch and he has pets what can he use to kill bed bugs and not harm the pets at the same time please let me know thank you
@@dennistardanico4745 Diatomaceous earth. Sprinkle it on and IN the couch in a very light dusting. And also in the cracks of the baseboards near the couch. Then try to avoid sitting on it for at least a month. They will walk through the dust and die after a couple weeks, as it cuts up their outer shells. Every now and then, sitb on the couch a minute or two to get em movin. That way they will walk through the dust.
@@clarissearaujoaraujo1105 it's a powder, you can get food grade diatomaceous earth from a health food store. Or Lows has it with other things not good for humans to be around.

After several nights of being bit we researched online. My husband decided to use his propane heater and hvac thermometer to heat every room in this house to the temperature of hell. He did this every week for 3 months. I vacuumed, enclosed all mattresses and flushed outlets. It worked for a couple years with no sign of bb's but unfortunately here we go again... up tonight after getting bit. Does this ever end?
You have to think about where they came from. Usually, two years is enough for all of them to starve, if you did not let them feed on you. If you did not have any bites nor any bugs in your bed leg monitors (you can buy them or make them yourself), for two years and now suddenly they are back, someone might have brought them to you. If you live in an apartment, they can come from your neighbors and the fight will never end unless the entire building is cleaned out.
And never put your suitcase on a hotel bed. The bedbugs will climb on it looking for a body to bite and after not finding one, set up a new home. Always use the suitcase stand or side table.
it can also travel from one luggage to another. when you bring a luggage onboard a plane and store it in the above compartment, if someone is carrying a bedbug it may travel to your luggage. or even on the seats.
@@NookTommy They are more likely in the seats and people. But if you place luggege where people normally sit, they will crawl on it looking for a meal. Once they feast they move quickly back to their home in I believe an average of 6 minutes or so. Thus they are probably more likely to be carried off a bus seat or park bench than from a bed or long flight - where they had a chance to get back off you. If you get up in that 6 minute period, you are carrying them with you. And they really target places people lay or sit (except in very highly contaminated sites).
Crossfire seems to be pretty popular these days. What do you say about doing this regimen but with crossfire rather than the 10x? Following the crossfire could you still go forward with the Gentrol step?

20 to 400 days Bed bugs can go without feeding for 20 to 400 days, depending on temperature and humidity. Older stages of nymphs can survive longer without feeding than younger ones, and adults have survived without food for more than 400 days in the laboratory at low temperatures.
Back in the 80's i travelled with the carnivals until i met a woman and quit the shows. Never had an issue with bedbugs. Fast forward to 2008-2015. Divorced and back with carnivals. Bedbugs in every bunkhouse. I dealt with them for a few years on 3 different carnivals. Brought in by the south of the border seasonal help. Nasty critters. I kept my clothes in black garbage bags up on the roof of the little bunkhouse i was in because the heat inside the bags killed them. I would also put my bedding in a bag for the day and place in sunlight. I slept in an empty trailer at night to keep away from the little buggers. If you ever go to a carnival and play the games beware of any stuffed animals that you win. If the show has an infestation of bedbugs then they will probably be on the stuffed animal prizes also. No more carny life for me. Bugs ran me off!
It must be reported that just the mattress is not the infected area the main area of infection of bed bugs is underneath the frame it is on the frame and it is between the mattress and the box spring. I find that several majority of the bugs off under the box spring and actually Less on the mattress so make sure that you look underneath and then you have to throw out everything the bed the mattress and the box spring and the frame of the bed everything related to that bed must get out and it must be wrapped in plastic and a skimpy job done by oneself is not equipped to travel is Journey against these ugly infecting ticks fortunately I have not had an incident with a bunk bed and then you must keep up on it in several following treatments you must remove the matches you cannot Salvage anyting the mattress the box spring in the frame all must go thank you very much

Bed bugs are our mortal enemies why would want to let them live? Can you think of anything that they are good for? Spray some poison in the vacuum while it is running, before you empty it.
You could spray a contact insecticide in the vacuum can, Pyrid would work, do not spray when running. www.solutionsstores.com/pyrid-aerosol-insecticide
Solutions Pest & Lawn, I have been using the vacuum to get rid of all sort of insects for many years and then I keep the vacuum running and spray insecticide into the hose to kill anything in the vacuum tank. No problems. When I empty the tank there are no live bugs in it.

Chemical stuff are not good for your health and most of them are ineffective against them. Their weakness is heat, steam or hot air are in my humble opinion the best ways to kill them: Either eggs, nymphs or adults die in less than 10 secs at only 50°C (~122 °F) I got rid of them with a simple hairdryer, you have to direct the airflow to every possible crack of the bed moving it slowly, of course, you will need a hairdryer that produces the most intense heat with the lowest possible airflow otherwise the bugs will be blown away. If the infestation is not at an advanced all the nests are localized at a maximum distance of 1-1,5 meters from the pillow. You have to repeat the treatment at least 1 time every 8-14 days until you will not see their presence anymore.
Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to see you've found something that works for you. Let us know if you have any questions about the methods or products demonstrated in this video.

I found these critters about 2 years ago, I hired the top rated pest control co to get rid of them, problem got worse, so I hired a different company, now after 2 years and spending almost 10 thousand dollars I still have bugs, so I now have purchased a good heater and also found that a kettle of boiling hot water works mericles behind the headboards simply pour the hot boiling water and it kills everything. It drys up in a couple hours too, next I’ll be setting up the new heaters too I use an indoor/outdoor weather thing placing the piece in the room and the other one in the house so I can monitor the temps, I think combustion temp is over 200 degrees so I’ll watch and keep it about 140 degrees this should be safe
I tried DE, it didn't work. I had a pro come in 4 different times, that didn't work. I bought Ortho flea, tick and bed bug killer. I sprayed it on everything and around the base boards and it killed them all. I bought 4 gallons of the stuff, thinking I was going to have to drowned those Mf's. I have a 2400 square foot home. Im starting to think we all have them and just dont know it. I supervise a maintenance crew for 162 apartments and have seen 4 heat treatments in the past year. Half the residents were unaware of the infestation. I ABSOLUTELY hate that i have to enter these units to make sure all flammables are out before treatment. Im so paranoid about them. They hide so well and can be in your place long before you actually find one. Heat treatments are upwards of $1200 and residents have to pay that fee. They may have the cleanest place and still have to pay this. Prevention is everything. Saran Wrap your entire house now and never leave!!
The first time Iv dealt with a bed bug was when I was loaned a school laptop while my original one was getting fixed, I see bugs coming out of the laptop while in school, I obv killed them but ig there was more since they ended up appearing again in the laptop as well as the laptop case I put it in, then it spread to my backpack, and now to my bed where it nonstop becomes a problem, I’m getting so tired of seeing these bugs lying around, you kill hundreds of these and they don’t even care, it got to the point where my parents bought a gas bomb which we used 2 times so far and there still continues to be more, I even had to get my bed mattress and base replaced only for it to still have the bedbugs lying around
it must be remembered there are some people who don't RESPOND to the bites. during my infestation, they were biting me every night and i had no idea, because I didn't get a single inflammation on my skin. Just because you're not getting an itchy bite does not mean they're not getting to you. Sad to break it to you.
Bedbugs hate lavender, they also hate kirby vacuums because they have some of most powerful suction systems, and you can also shampoo your bed, and use rid spray everyday, preventing them from coming in your home is key, and washing your bedding every time you wash clothes, and I don't go inside neighbors houses, keep in mind if your bed is more than 4 years old you already have 40 pounds of dead skin cells in your bed we shed 8 lbs, a year per person.
They really hate the rainbow. Your not looking for suction your looking for airflow, thats what gives you suction with the rainbow unlike the kirby it has no filters your filter is water drown them bitches!

you dont need to hire anyone to inspect, you can do it yourself. Follow the guy's instructions, and inspect the entire bed and headboard closely, first, then move on to all upholstered furniture that is sat on frequently. If you have them they likely will be hiding in those spots. Then move on to all other places they are known to hide and look for evidence. Save yourself the $ it would take to hire someone to come check for em.

What did the iron do?
Your enthusiasm is professional and encouraging.
To prevent bedbugs after you sweep your floor if you have carpet is add a dusting of baking soda. It actually dries them up. It does the same for flea and ticks even kissing bugs if they land on your carpet.

Thank you for this. Will remember for sure.
Any discount codes? I'm ordering the complete kit today!!!!
And never put your suitcase on a hotel bed. The bedbugs will climb on it looking for a body to bite and after not finding one, set up a new home. Always use the suitcase stand or side table.
Thank you for this helpful information.
As for inspection, from my experience you never see them no matter how hard you look. Only the welts.
Yep, and if they don't have a suitcase stand, put them into the bathtub until you feel safe there.
it can also travel from one luggage to another. when you bring a luggage onboard a plane and store it in the above compartment, if someone is carrying a bedbug it may travel to your luggage. or even on the seats.

20 to 400 days
Bed bugs can go without feeding for 20 to 400 days, depending on temperature and humidity. Older stages of nymphs can survive longer without feeding than younger ones, and adults have survived without food for more than 400 days in the laboratory at low temperatures.
Bed bugs can be such a nuisance, but these preventive measures suggested in the video might just save a lot of hassle. Thanks for sharing!

GREAT INFORMTION! THANKYOU!!
Chemical stuff are not good for your health and most of them are ineffective against them.
Their weakness is heat, steam or hot air are in my humble opinion the best ways to kill them: Either eggs, nymphs or adults die in less than 10 secs at only 50°C (~122 °F)
I got rid of them with a simple hairdryer, you have to direct the airflow to every possible crack of the bed moving it slowly, of course, you will need a hairdryer that produces the most intense heat with the lowest possible airflow otherwise the bugs will be blown away.

Ive been using rubbing alcohol. Been working so far
That is good to hear. We recommend something a little stronger.
That what i use cane alcohol and raid spray
What does the rubbing alcohol do?
@@lexhimself876 rubbing alcohol works by dehydrating their bodies. It has to be sprayed/poured directly on them to work. Misting does nothing. Unnamed pest company came and heat treated the house and sprayed several times. They got a $3000 check and our house still has them. Vaccumming, getting rid of clutter, drying everything for an hour and alcohol seems to be the only thing to work so far. They will hide in curtains, baseboards, behind anything on the wall, mattresses and boxspring.

OMG... it took me almost 5 months to get rid of bed bugs! This was 2 years ago... I did not have the money to call an exterminator so I dealt with it on my own. I used some sprays indicated for them but also used essential oils, borax and killed them myself...😂 it took every ounce of my being but I won! You have to literally study them... like they are most active between 2 & 5 am....I feel for anyone dealing with bed bugs. My problem arose from a person who I rented a room to...needless to say I threw him & his stuff out immediately...😢
Im dealing with them right now and they literally gave me PTSD, im scared to sleep..i used rubbing alcohol today, but i was thinking to use vinegar too. I also have a lot of artificial veins on my walls and im scared that they are hiding in here. A total NIGHTMARE. I first had them like 3 months ago but we got rid of them, but now, 1 month ago they reappeared and we cant find where they come from. The mattress is clean and there is no sign of them during the day, but at night they appear. I usually find 2-3 per night...
@@RobertaGeorgiana-ro9gi oh I feel for you! I'm so sorry... I know it's a nightmare! I used alcohol and also used white vinegar at times. The Borax & baking soda worked well on the carpets....I left it over night & vacuumed the next morning. The other thing I did was to coat all the legs on my bed with Vicks Vaporub... that will prevent them from getting to your bed. Though you have to re-do it every few days. The only other thing I did was to wait til they were active and kill them on contact. I wish you the best...
@@DutchieThePitty thank you for the advice! I will let you know about the situation in the following days. :)
@@RobertaGeorgiana-ro9gi your welcome...I wish you the best🤗
@@DutchieThePitty hi! I think i got rid of them, i HOPE that. Its been like 5 or 6 days since i ve seen one, i got all my artificial veins off my walls just in case they were hiding there.
Tomorrow im going to spray again just to make sure.
Im praying theh are gone forever
All these chemicals are safe newborn after the treatment
My brothers friend came over and slept on our couch and I slept on it last night and I had HUGE bumps on me everywhere. But I dont see them at all, and they’re no where else in the house.

i know. it is VERY distressing and depressing, and anxiety-inducing! but sadly, we don't have total control on if we get them. If they choose us, all we can do is try to get rid of them.
These bugs are a nightmare! We had them 3 yrs ago ! Never ever seen one and never want to see one again! Finally had a professional come out stage 9 infestation! Omg Thank 😲! GOD THEY ARE GONE !Worst bugs I've ever ever dealt with! WHAT A NIGHTMARE!
Get an electric blanket. Turn it up. Leave it on while you're asleep. Job done in 3 days.
Jonathan Moore really?
@@CeeGee0301 yep.
That’s what you did? Have you seen any since? I don’t think the heat is strong enough to kill is it?
@@badmelll I sleep with a heating pad, and they do not go where the heat is...I should have picked up on this..I have been scrubbing day and night for a month now...the trick is they cannot eat..if you do this for 18 months they will starve to death..as an aside I have also put clear packing tape and duck tape reversed to catch anything trying to climb anywhere...I am still going to get the chemicals as I had De down beneath the sofa...somehow..I got them in the sofa...I think if they get there they never need to go to the floor to eat so just multiply on the furniture...hell, I tell ya! Hell! And don't dare miss an inch with your lavender and De or they will go in between....geeesh!
Or... it will just drive them to elsewhere where there is not so much heat. You'll only shove them to a different area. Unless you have the bed entirely isolated and prevent them from getting off the bed while you heat it up
Yes
Encasements wont workvfor waterbed right ?
😂
From what my brother told me about his experience here’s how you fix a bed bug problem:
Move.

How about encasement covers for couches and their pillow backs! That would be cool cause I don't sleep in a bed!

Most mattress stores carry bed bug covers for your mattress and box…
another thing: when he said to dry the clothes and bedding, he didn't specify it needs to be on HIGH heat, and for at least an hour! the temp of all the fabric has to get to 120 degrees or more, to kill any bedbugs or eggs in them and that temp must be sustained for that amount of time.
I just started getting bit three nights ago.. I turned the light on and actually seen 2 bedbugs not moving on my comforter... they were alive but not moving and adults.. I took photos and killed them as I've seen them in videos only. I have never had them until these dirty losers moved into the apartment next door and upstairs in a three unit house.. they've had them for over 9 months and the landlord won't do anything and now, it's my problem too! How expensive is this stuff? I ask because I'm on disability and I wanna be sure I can afford it.
I know a few people who had them and they ended up walking away from everything they owned and starting from scratch that's how bad they could not get rid of them especially if you're in a complex or duplex or a row house where other home's or even homes upstairs from you they get through the walls to ceiling to the floor I need crack and crevice Insidious little bastards.
Save your money and have a professional do a''''HEAT TREATMENT'''' That is the only way to get rid of them.. Over the years they have become amune to all sprays..
What i been doing is instead of chasing them, I decided to let them come to me. They have to eat at some point. So i put on sweat pants with two shirts and a light jacket with a hoodie. When i wake up i find them on my jacket in hiding near by and that is when i use Bug MD. I really wanted to see how many were coming around. Let's say there were a lot of them at first. Now the babies are coming around and i am getting them as well.
Welp looks like ill be cleaning every day. Might have to hire someone to inspect because I think I might have them
you dont need to hire anyone to inspect, you can do it yourself.
This guy is the only guy I've felt like knew his craft and explained it well. But he didn't recommend heat or steam? Not sure why.
Because he's telling you how to do it your self? Maybe it's not something most people could do themselves?
Because he is selling products too..
Bed Bugs is not really hard to get rid. All you've to do, to eliminate them including the eggs, is the HAIR DRYER. They can't stand the heat and even hiding in the crack.
Thank you for your feedback.
I don't have one but late in the evening, juat in the bigger cracks and only a little bit! Guess what , oven cleaner, i had a quiet night and 8 worked later on during the day. For emergency and temporary only!
