The original dark blue longshot was the first nerf blaster to feature the cross-compatible magazine, tactical rail, and barrel attachment. Because the barrel attachment was very popular after they made more blasters, they made a "special edition" longshot that featured an extra recon barrel.
Dude I FORGOT About That I Remember Seeing That Back In The Day, Like, WAAAAY Back.
Broh I found a picture. It's apparently called the super value pack i.pinimg.com/originals/4e/b6/27/4eb6275a091b14b5702144cfb967adb8.jpg
Actually, the n-strike rail started with the scout, which came with the titan and the hornet and is tied with those for the position of the very first n-strike blaster
I remember those! Just always bugged me that it was a Yellow Recon barrel included with the blue Longshot. Always wished it had been the Yellow Longshot that it was included with instead. I like things to match.
No mater what I get,I'm gonna spray paint it.but just what color
Just to let people know, you can buy the Longshot bi pod separately on eBay, so if you want to get one for your zombie strike longshot, you can.
You can get an elite longshot off amazon for $80-$100
Who else prefers the OG blue over the others?
Me
Considering that's the one I got back in the day and still have. ayup. =p
me
I had one way back when, I was thinking it would actually have range but it was awful
Agent Washingtub no
To this day, the Longshot is my favorite Nerf blaster. Its modding potential is bananas. I had an OG blue Longshot back in college days and a friend and I modded it with a shotgun grip. Yeah, back in the day, you couldn't buy a nice 3D printed kit. You made one out of thick plastic yourself! I then took the front gun and stuck it under where the bi-pod went. The shotgun grip primed both. I remember cutting to clips and forming a super clip because bigger clips simply weren't made yet. Good times. Yeah, there might be better blasters out there now-a-days, but the Longshot is still king in my heart.
Just snagged an elite Longshot, yea boiiiii.
Nathan Beck same
If you died I wouldn't care
Nathan Beck oo
Nathan Beck me to
I have zombie strike
I like the crimson walmart exclusive, i just dont have the money for it😕
Iceybobster what gun is that in the gamer pick
snazzydazzle the red one
Han Solos blaster from star wars
I myself own one of the Zombiestrike longshots, though it went into one of my personal paint jobs, but I still want an original blue n-strike one. Back when toys were built tough, I had a freidn who had one and that thing had been left out in the rain, snow, dropped down stairs and in the dirt, and it kept going strong. kinda like my poor unmodded gen-1 recon (the original one. the one with the long black plunger cover instead of the short one.)
But drac "why don't you just paint it red"
It's just not the same.
Your right . I tried it with a rayven trying to make a rayven look like a rayven stinger it just dont work
Oh its a joke
Hey the deploy is my favorite blaster
I'm like you, Drac: I like all Longshots, but my favorite hands-down is the Crimson Strike.
Hey! What happend to Jerm anyway? LAst vid on his RUclips channel was uploaded 5 years ago...
Jerm781 quit NERF
He just got burnt out on it. Nerf Mods & Reviews isn't even on the internet anymore, which is a shame. It was a great archive of NERF to refer people to.
nice job Drac !!! we love the Zombiestrike series !!! HI all the way from the UK !!
I am from UK as well
Hey Waffle !!! drac should come to the UK !
I wish
That color makes me gag
Yep I'm from England
And now we have another one, the Icon series Longshot. Love how they won't let this beauty die.
anyone notice that the intro was zoomed in?
Now the Icon series has the Longshot! They're on shelves once more!
Yep and i like it
Yesterday I thrifted a Zombie Strike Longshot along with a BLUE STRYFE and a older Nerf reactor (the dark blue version).
Teens: Its a nerf gun that shoots bullets
Critics: It is a toy blaster that launches foam darts
Nerfers: It is a nerf longshot that shoots nerf darts with a really bad rate of fire and initial velocity
Rick and morty fans: It is molded acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene formed to a certain design to resemble real firearms propelling polyurethane compound projectiles using the air pressure of an empty tube powered by a 2.5 kilogram rated pring to achieve an average initial velocity of 55 feet per second using an imitation of a firearm magazine using acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene as the base material with a steel spring to feed the polyurethane compound projectiles into the acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene molded firearm.
Pring?
Karens: it's going to cause mass shootings
Not at all resembling a real firearm. Injection molded ABS is a much better way to say molded acrylonitril butadiene styrene. Saying the latter is like saying, "ah yes, I'll have a cup of dihydrogen monoxide." Like yeah, you got it right but you just sound like a pretentious asshole. Not very Rick and Morty.
Springs arent rated in draw weight, but in the spring constant.
Polyurethane is used in so much that in trying to sound smart by using the word Polyurethane, you fail to specify why this polyurethane is important. It is a polyurethane foam, as oppossed to a stiff compound.
Coop would rage if he saw that yellow longshot😂
Did Drac ever do a review of the Revonix? I can't find one, it's my favorite blaster by far and I am surprised there is no video for it.
Me too. Its hard to do much with though, because its mechanicals are SO complicated.
It is true, the internals are an absolute cesspool because pulling the priming handle does like a 100 things at once. I messed up a Revonix a few years ago because I put some poorly made off brand discs inside it, and I couldn't put the thing back together once I opened it *sound of my heart shattering*. I only just found another one at goodwill a few days ago, never thought I would see another one.
I got stupidly lucky, and found 4 of them on clearance for 15 bucks each, plus about 15 small disk packs for a buck each. Donated 2 to a Larp, and I kept 1 still in its box.
I would love to SEE someone do something to it, but its such an odd duck in the nerf world being a disk gun, then its level of complexity...
My friend had, *HAD* one
Just seeing the Gen 1 Longshot
T R I G G E R E D some serious nostalgia.
Thanks for the video, Drac.
Longshots are legends and they'll stay that way forever. ❤️
Heck yeah, dude! I'm right there with ya. Team Longshot forever~
Clicked on a drac video, was greeted with epic voice guy from honest trailers instead?
11 years worth of longshot history right here
LOVE YOU DRAC!!!!!!!!!!!!! in a you tube way
What's with the zoomed intro?
I just realized the Longshot came out when I was born. Amazing!
Elitist Beast same 😂
I got an almost complete first run longshot from a goodwill. All I'm missing is the front blaster, thats it. The gun is complete and working. Its got the bipod, the origanal scope, origanal yellow mag. I had a lot of fun with it.
Integrate 2 stryfes with full Auto kits into the guttet longshot. You remove the lower plastic Piece where the bipod originaly was. Then you integrate the stryfe sideways. After that, you integrate the second stryfe where the Plunger Action originally was. You run it all from a lipo and make it light up with leds. Then you hook the stryfes up to different Triggers and to one spin up Trigger so that if you pull the button both stryfes wind up and you can fire the one you choose. You should integrate the Masterkey Stryfe Sideways with and 18 round drum from a Alpha trooper, that would look awesome. after that you got yourself a awesome Primary. Good Luck and have fun, Green
Just got a Zombie Longshot in a package buy. I'm not really a springer guy but it feels great in the hand. Now I need another to mod and paint in my colors.
I have an almost mint original blue LongShot, sans scope. I've had it since the day my parents bought it for me in '06 and I've always wanted to mod it and give it a second life but just haven't gotten around to it. its easily one of my favorite blasters of all time and its been at my side in so many Nerf battles with friends.
Still have my original longshot. Front gun is long broken, no bipod, charging handle is missing, but I still have it, I still have the scope, and I still have one of the yellow "clips." Fun fact: the blue longshot was the only nerf blaster that came with yellow "clips" and they never came separately. I also find it very interesting that when they went to design the rapidstrike, they got something that was almost identical in dimensions, layout, and very similar in general appearance to the longshot (the folded and extended stock lengths, magwell, grip, (shortened) carry handle, even the fat front end was retained for the batteries), which cannot have been a coincidence even factoring in the stampede it was "developed" from, especially considering the way the rapidstrike was sold and how it ended up in a similar place in the community
The long shot releases make me think of the saying “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”
I didnt know there were so many versions. i was aware of the blue N strike one with the "front gun", and the zombie strike variant that lacked the additional blaster and the built in bipod. but that blue and black one with your name on it looks really cool.dig the custom paint job. nerf should use those colors more; especially that deep blue color. not gonna lie though, the dark red and grey of the crimson strike looks pretty cool too.
personally i have zero experience with integrations so i wouldnt know what i was doing if i tried, and it seems to have been outclassed by more recent bolt action blasters like the Tristrike and the Raptorstrike. but its definitely aesthetically cool, if bulky. and the front gun is way too bug and bulky for what is essentially a jolt, especially now with the existence of the modulus grip blaster and barrel strike. so sad to say, its not a blaster high on my wish list. that said, maybe id get one if i were lucky enough to find one on a good sale or in a second hand store or something...maybe.
Video idea for you: with the advent of the nexus pro and other similar springers that are high performance out of the box, do you still feel that the Longshot has a place as the high-powered "sniper" blaster in the modern hobby (after modification of course)?
my first true blaster was the zombie strike longshot and I am actually glad it was that one because the lack of the bipod makes a comfortable grip
Fuck yeah, you got a sponsor, im proud of you.
The gun, the legend! BTW, Drac, when was the last time you made an integration?? Did that just slowly disappear from the hobby or what?
maverick vs strongarm vs disruptor vs cycloneshock vs flipfury
I think the long shots that have the barrel attachment reign supreme
The zombie strike isn't available at target. It's available at toys r us.
Celyn Animation it used to be a target exclusive
Target is the American exclusive, toys r us uk
Yay! The longploy makes a return!
I remember back in about 2007 me and my cousins got nerf guns for Christmas and I got that blue longshot my brother got a raider and my cousins got recons or mavriks. that was one of the best Christmases ever almost as soon as we got them opened up the war broke out foam flinging everywhere! it was great!
Long shot was my first need blaster, so it holds a special place in my heart.
Also for anyone near Lynchburg Virginia USA, the toys r us near liberty university has the zombie strike Long shot, along with some other ones such as the centurion.
I had a long shot but I donated it to goodwill when I was little I miss that thing
My personal favorite is the original midnight blue because in my opinion, it looks beautiful and it serves to take care of my original yellow cute Reflex IX-1 :)
I CANT WAIT TILL ENDWAR DRAC!!! IT GONNA BE AMAZING!!
Casey's Comics ayyy I remember you from dracs foamcon vid!!
You still have the longploy! I saw your video from the dorm room days!
Crimson strike one
i bought a yellow longshot in 2013....i`m keeping it so maybe one day i`ll send it to Drac :D
The intro was jacked up, or should I say Draced up
I feel like the longshot was the stryfe of it’s day
N-strike Yellow Longshot is my favourite blaster of all time!
hi drac u are one of my favorite youtubers keep it up
Ahh so many throwback mods...goods days
I have no money for a long shot but hopefully Santa gives me a long shot for Christmas
Aah, the nostalgia :^)
5:34 yeah the reason you get a red longshot is beacause its rare, not really because its red
That red Longshot tho 😍
The crimson strike series also made a recon/ retaliator, I love your vids drac! Keep on blasting foam
you learn somthing new every day
John Jackson they also made a Vulcan
I just got a long shot for Christmas of 2023, (yes I am an adult) I got it bc I remember all the modding, so nostalgia, BUT mine is like the blue one you have in this video except it’s yellow and I found it at Ollie’s for like 30 bucks brand new in packaging they had two of them
Literally the same blaster
I think my favorite is actually the Zombie Strike version.
Why was the intro zoomed?
I love the old school nerf style more than the new stuff.
The full blaster and its attachments go for 300! Freaking dollars! Now that's some next level crap right there
I always have, and always will love the LongPloy by Germ!
Big ass yellow one. Its got a pump grip from the getgo.
Drac do long strike video
I gotta go with the O.G., same design era my dear, dear Firefly is from.
Crimson obviously
The Z longshot came with a 12 dart mag and was actually really cheap you can get it for sometimes even 20 25 which it very good for a blaster of that size
You should get a rival mag shove a massive spring in it and make a trigger system to depress the lock that holds the balks and go full auto with short range
The deploy mod is cool. You have a decent gun and a panic shot
THE OG.
Best video ever! The Longshot is one of my favorite Nerf guns! This morning I put a 22 kg. spring in one and it's cool!
I have a modded one, blue one, and yellow one.
Looking at the super upgraded ones got me like "damn dead space 3 ain't got shit on this guy's work
Internals are all identical...
I still got 2 of the original Longshots still sealed in the box. Too bad they aren’t worth much nowadays
I don't know why, but I like calling the N-strikes the BeeBlasters.
Color Schemes, I guess.
I remember when my sister, mom and I got these for my sister and me, the zombie strike one, they are fun when it came out lol
so the answer as to which is best is.....? oh their pretty much the same, dang. I wanted mine to be the best, N-strike represent!
good job drac as normal you provide a great video!
Don't forget longshot Night Fury NERF color: navy blue and dark blue
#ad? Good for you, Drac. Wasn't expecting it, but hey. #spon means #food
I have 4 nerf longshots 2 blue ones which are the midnight original, the elite and 2 of the crimson red longshots since blue and red are both my favorite colors. Oh and the longshot is my favorite nerf gun of all the nerf guns I have right now.
How did we get started on this "Crimson Strike" name? The color name was never noted on the Longshot or Recon boxes at Wal-Mart. The Vulcan had "Red Strike" printed in the upper right corner of the box. And yet, every time I hear someone referring to this variant, it's called "Crimson Strike". Any ideas where this originated from?
Bazookafied Crimsonstrike is a fan-name, and TBH I hate when people don't use the correct name, Redstrike. Just a pet peeve of mine
It's tough to correct it when the mainstream channels get it wrong, but I'm more curious as to where the Crimson Strike started when I can find no indication that it was ever called that in the first place. It's a silly mistake that's just puzzling to me.
Basically Drac brags about his Longshot collection
I’ve still got my original long shot. Got it in 2007 for Christmas when I was a wee nerfer. It works still, but I’ve yet to get it to feed my elite darts :/
drac, im going to be modding a longshot soon. I need a strong trigger catch to use for my longshot. Do you have a recommendation? I'm not using the OMW one because i don't want to buy the whole kit. If there is a buy with just the catch out there it would be great. Thanks drac, or whoever replies to my comment!
Thing is... The "elite" Longshot never actually said elite. Nowhere on the packaging or the blaster itself
My first nerf blaster was the elite longshot
It was amazing when I first got it
I didn’t know the red blasters were rare (i never really kept up with that’s sort of thing) I actually found 2 of my old nerf guns today and they’re the red, or crimson, ones. I’m glad to know this cuz I was fixing to sell em for just a couple bucks at a yard sale
Are you fixing to sell them online?
@@metanoba4099 nah
Look on Ebay, I bought a Crimson Recon and I saw a Crimson Longshot front gun for $68...
I love the crimson LongShot . I've never seen one in person and I wish I could have one to mod !
My second blaster ever was an Elite LongShot and it was only £20.00. thats about $26.00 in the US i think.
I literally got an Elite Longshot yesterday. WHAT.
My favourite longshot is the modded 1 of course
totally not holding my complete red longshot right now......
Kinda upset that the ZS one isn't ambidextrous and has the two large holes where the bipod plugged in, but it's a small matter tbh.
I just need to find a OG LongShot front gun ....
