Screen Junkies I grew up in the 90's
Screen Junkies do original batman animated series
Screen Junkies do honest trailer for superhero movie
Screen Junkies SUGOI!!!!
The fact that this cartoon gave the whole team their share of The Spotlight instead of obsessing over Wolverine alone makes it the Superior X-Men Adaptation.
That was thanks to the Xmen movies, since those came out it's all about Wolverine for some reason.
@@RonnRicco What do you mean? The X-Men movies is what they're talking about. What else do you think they're talking about?
@@RonnRiccowolverine's always been one of the more popular characters, to the point where he'd cameo in all sorts of comic books (even for a single panel) to get more off the shelf.
If course wolverine always worked best when he was a side character and not the main focus... But what can you do *shrugs*
Wolverine was extremely popular on his own, even before X-Men TAS and the movies.

SHAAAAAUUUN!!!!
Shaun!
You didn’t mention how Rogue spent 85% of her time saving Jean while she fainted and moaned.
Like, Rogue and Storm practically carried the team at times. So her carrying Jean is just par for course.
Oooh oooooh ooo
Disagree. Cyclops was there two. Not so much Wolverine with Magento and Jubilee.
Oh, yes I did 😏
@@ggt47 wolverine carried the show though XD
Learning what "to be continued" means was probably my first lesson in English.
💯 tho 😂
that or "The End"
JOJO!!!
Mine was "Previously on X-Men". Any show that uses the "Previously on (name of the show)" phrase, all I can think of was this cartoon
DEADASS
Of course the wife walks in right at the jeans Xgasems part and ask what I'm watching.
Of course... Never fails
☝️🤕
And let me guess: it took longer to satisfactorily handle that explanation than the remainder of the video itself?
Hahaha
The answer is "X-Men, come watch."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
man, they forgot about the professors screaming every time he used his powers on an enemy
My thoughts exactly. He had his own X-Gasms.
I think they did a super cut a while ago of him just screaming. Was wondering if they would still include it tho.
Facts I was just thinking that.
Professor X: "arrrgggghhhh!!!!"
LOLLLL. PERFECT!
The “Jean’s Xgasm” really got me😂😂
H. Trailers: "and when 1st place is Batman, second place aint half bad."
X-men '97: I took that personally.
I was showing this to my niece and nephew, did not expect Jean's xgasm x.x
Oops
This is literally the greatest comment that could result from this video.
knew they were gonna mention something like that, i remeber jean fainting and moaning ALOT in the show
+Metrion77 No it isn't.
hater -_-
"The Rogues are sexier." I'm mad because this is true.
Yeah, wtf was Rogue in the movies?! Ugh.
MegaScarletti The Rogue in the movies was essentially the Jubilee from the cartoons.
Animated Rogue is sexier
@@ElBribri yup her accent was even sexier
NGL Anna Pakin is my number
Shout out to those coming here after watching the trailer for Disney's new continuation of the show.
Indeed 🙋
yes
The show is incredible.
97’s premier was perfect.
In the 90s, the villains were jollier than the heroes. You rarely hear the heroes having a happy laugh but the villains enjoy life
The villians do what they want. It's the good guys, stuck having to clean up the mess
I love how they crammed in the Japanese intro bit just so they could get honest trailer guy to say sugoi!
dude the japanese intro kicks all kinds of ass
hey the japanese intro really was better.
Andoc no I disagree. I disagree...
The second Japanese into is more epic then the show actually was, and the show is pretty fucking epic
only in your head they did it just for that
Okay Screen Junkies, now make an honest trailer for Batman: the animated series.
^ This
I second this.
Best Batmobile of all time!

To e honest, for a pg13 show, they manage to show off Wolverines personality really well
Kc Ryan yeah they were in a tough spot with that. They have to have wolverine’s claws. But there is no PG way to have them use wolverine’s claws
Nap Time Yeah he definitely slices up lots of robots in the show! But the comment I was replying to specified “human enemies.” Although he does use the claws on a couple mutants. Blob, apocalypse, and probably Omega Red
PG-13 is a movie rating not a show rating.
@@spaceinvader8791 yeah, thank you for stating the obvious. But, there are certain things a PG 13 show can show and things it cant. Just look at the first Wolverine movies and the Logan movie. Duh!
@Nap Time Are we talking about the same show dude? This show was made for kids it has adult themes and adults love this show but its rating is TV-Y7.
Well, now we need Spider-Man: The Animated series (1994) :D
i have every episode on dvd :D
+Rhys Thomas it's out on dvd!? where did you buy them from? been looking for them for ages!

Alucard The Crimson prince how did I not think of that one? I tip my hat to you good sir
Lupus Lunarem that's what a lot of spare time can do.
So iconic. I loved how this show used so many underrated characters that many people don't even know exist nowadays.
Omega Red, Mister Sinister, Forge, Bishop, Cannonball, The Shi'ar Empire, The Brood, Mastermold, Mastermind, Avalanche.
Mojo from Mojovision, lol!
It's amazing that with a universe a rich and diverse as the Xmen, fox still managed to shit on it and pull a charlie brown.
Well Mister Sinister was the main villain in Deadpool video game.
So..... there's that.
@@ColorAlterno Well, we never said all of them were good. Haha
True and they kept true to the stories
and "sad fact" when the whole beta male was going around I would say im not beta im Omega -Omega Red and nobody got it
Yeah the classical german stereotype of being a blue teleporting devil looking creature with a german accent
Yeah, that's totally ridiculous. All Russians are clearly made of metal though. Spot on that one. I think all cajuns can cause explosions, but that's more to do with spicy cooking than mind powers.
@@herbderbler1585 I watched the russian slapping tournament and that one is definitely true. They are made of metal.
I always thought he was French....
@@TheDandonian Cajuns live in Louisiana and are descended from the French.
Nightcrawler is from Bavaria and Colossus is a giant steelman. Stalin meant man of steel. Omega Red is another Russian character
Best theme song EVR.
Y'all for got to mention a time where you could get a vhs as a bonus for Pizza Hut pizzas. Loved that 2 episode tape.
so apparently you dont know the german intro of mystic knights! or the german intro (idk about the original one) of extreme dinosaurs!
I don't know, spectacular spider-man's is :
Spectacular.
Clearly, you've never seen "Charles in Charge."
I didnt know who the avengers where until the first Iron Man movie. But mention "radioactive spider blood" and im there lol
I legit thought Storm was summoning Captain Planet for a second
She didn't have the heart for it.
😂
I was expecting it too.
@@mrsocko316 GOOD ONE!!☝️🤣
From Neogenetic Nightmare IV: The Mutant Agenda
(aka the episode of 90s Spider-Man where the X-Men guest star)
Storm: "Power of lighting, strike again!"
Spidey: "Um, Power of web-shooters... get real sticky!"
One of my favorite moments from the series was when they went back in time from the future where mutants were fighting with humans back to the 1960s with Bishop to meet young Xavier. Wolverine and Storm were a couple in this universe. At a dinner, they were refused service for holding hands. Storm quipped, "Discrimination based on skin color is almost quaint!"
I remember that one, it was awesome!
Episode was titled "One Man's Worth" I believe, two-parter.
"When no one gave a crap about the avengers" lol so true. Iron Man was about the only one anyone gave half a crap about.. it was all X-Men and Spiderman.
yup! Those were the only comics I collected!
The old Iron Man show is definitely weirder than I remember, but so are most of them. Swat Katz hasn't changed though.
I think War Machine was a bigger character in the X-Men and Spiderman cartoons of the 90s than Iron Man was
What, Iron Man appeared in these cartoons?? I don't remember him.
@@nakurukamura1318 Yeah Ironman appeared in Spiderman occasionally, he was quiet prominent in the secret war arc along with Captain America both working technically under Spiderman.
"Egg suckin piece of gutter trash" I gonna start using that lol
lol
”Come on you piece of alien gutter trash”
Almost as good as "ham fisted bun vendor"
Must be a Canadian expression.
Sounds like something Joe Biden would say.
Holy shit the Japanese intro is so badass
it wasn't bad but still not 1992. That'll get you hyped.
Ranma, you call yourself Gary now? What happened?
holy shit yeah!
damn it is for real
Definitely!
This hits closer to home after Doctor Strange 2 actually introduced Prefessor X with the animated series theme.
“Scott” Xgasm... “Jean.” Xgasm. Wolverine grunting. Xgasm
SNKKT!
I AM STILL PLUGGED IN

Can't wait to see the X-Men '97 honest trailer when it happens 😂
Went back to this video since I’m excited for the new Xmen series in Disney +

I have very fond memories of me yelling, "I SUMMON THE POWERS OF THE WIIIIND!! 🙌🏾", as a kid whenever there were strong winds. It was even better if I was wearing a coat lol
Who's here after watching X-Men '97?
Yep
Yup
Who's here after skimming the title of the vid and thinking is actually an honest trailer of X-Men '97?
😂
"that's great despite being very much a product of it's time." is a surprisingly great compliment
Read it as he said it
Truth be said even if a series was done today, no one would have the balls to make it R rated and show Wolverine tearing people apart
@@bernardoheusi6146 I don't know about that one bruh, deadpool did happen remember
Rare
The '90s was an awesome time, so in saying that something is a product of that time, you'd expect it to be pretty much top-bottom better than stuff from today.
And you'd be right.
Storm yelling at nature is literally my childhood in a nutshell
Can't wait for them to do X-Men '97!
When no one gave a crap about The Avengers. LOL!
This was one of the best animated series; great storylines, character developments, and connected strongly with human stakes and emotions.
Alright now we need an honest trailer of Batman the animated series
Better specify which one.
kajidono the 1990s one with kevin conroy and mark hamill
+Zack Bloodworth do you mean Batman:The animated series or The new Batman adventures
Myles Hoglund Batman the animated series
The only one that matters.
At 2:53 I was beginning to think that Storm was trying to summon captain planet.
She will meet him AT THE MONORAIL!
Same here:)

"In a decade where no one gave a crap about the avengers" so TRUE!!!
I grew up as a kid in the 80s and 90s. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY ever talked about the Avengers, but the X-Men were everywhere!
I still don't care.
exactly ,marvel is :mutants(wolverine)and spider verso stop.
Yes it was true
John Smith There's always that one guy.
2:10 - "Nothing defeats stereotypes like a different, more powerful stereotype.
i am 100% an 80s guy, i love everything 80s. but the 90s X Men cartoon was an absolute masterpiece.
You forgot the most iconic part - the series having so many multi-part storylines that we wound up with Cyclops saying
PREVIOUSLY, ON X-MEN
at the start of, like, half the episodes.
And yes, you just read that in his voice.
yeah I did lol I love how Cyclops is a real badass in the cartoon!
@@RudolfJvVuuren YES! An Awesome leader character that has been completely miss treated in many more recent incarnations.
yes i did read that in his voive!!
That's a good thing. They spent their time making stories better instead of rushing through them.
Dang it I did it without even thinking about it lol 😂
Man as a 90s kid we had some awesome cartoons back in the day. Who agrees with me?

Don't you just wish that there was a channel with just classic tv shows that we grew up with today?

Decided to rewatch it to celebrate the reveal of the Disneyplus X-men '97 continuation show.
2024: Rewatching this after watching X-men 97
It was supposed to be just a "kid's show", but it was ridiculously well written.
All of the 90's animated shows were well written. Kids weren't treated like complete idiots back then. Even if we didn't understand everything being portrayed we grasped the concept, and learned from it.
@@Dandoskyballer Not all. New Kids on the Block, Dumb and Dumber, Hammerman, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Ace Ventura, The Mask, Fish Police, etc... were all just cash grabs and treated kids like complete idiots. Every decade has good & bad animated shows. By the time you get to the 2000s, the likes of Avatar: The Last Airbender were also being written for adults.
@@jp3813 What in the hell are you talking about? The Dumb and Dumber movie was comedic gold. Granted every sequel and prequel was terrible. The original, however, is on my top 10 list for comedies.
@@NinetooNine They're talking about the cartoons, not the movies. The fact that you don't even remember confirms that the TV series was terrible.
@@vacion610 Didn't even know there was a Dumb and Dumber cartoon. But I imagine it would be terrible.

I've never gotten into Xmen but this makes me want to watch the show to learn all about them it looks fun and a great way to learn about the characters
Do. It is a dated but Honest Trailer is right. It is way better than the movies.
It's amazing!
And yes, it is MUCH better than the movies!

Thanks @screenjunkies for making my neighbors think im watching porn thanks to Jean Grey-Gasms!
Lol

just how loud did you have it?
We got a "Sugoi!" out of him without having to request it.
Jean's X-Gasms were quite the awakening for adolescent me.
I was all about Rogue. She could put me in a coma any day of the week.
Say what you want about Jean, but her X-gasms we're the best!
Hilfuckinarious 😂 😂 I'm Wisconsin Lonnie and I approve this message ™
I remember my dad laughing sometimes when she would really deliver that x-gasm.
“Uhhhhhhh Scott!” 🤣🤣
I was annoyed by it back then tbh.
That Jean Cyclops dynamic was really setting me off for some reason.
But now that I’m older I look at it with nostalgia
Damn, lots more love in this than normal. They must have really liked this series.
Because X-men: The Animated Series knew how to respect the source materials, unlike the movie versions. And, plenty of the viewers here lived the freaking 90s.
They're children of the '90s who grew up reading comic books. This show is their Bible.
+Paul Ramos it's easier to do things with a cartoon. You can space them out over many episodes and get further into character backgrounds while you only have a good 2 hours for a movie. Of course cartoons will be "more respectful" because they can do more. There are no limitations with a cartoon. I don't know why people always do that when comparing cartoons and movies. Cartoons will always be closer to source material.
Tbh screen junkies has just become a superhero obsessed channel, honest trailers used to spoof films from a wide variety of genres, but now they only seem to do superhero films
+Marcus280898 they could always do the new ghostbusters, with the same level of critical thinking that they've used when covering it so far...
This was soooo satisfying to watch, from the theme song (one of the best) to sentinels sucking at their jobs and the jokes 😂😂 thank you for bringing back so many good memories
Always cracked me up that jean would pick up a spaceship and faint, or talk to someone psychically and faint or psychokinetically pass someone the salt and faint. 😂
the jean grey x-gasm part made me turn down my volume a notch
+Lee Irvin Same. I got a weird look from everyone else. Had to change rooms
glad I had headphones on

Funny, I turned it up.

We need one for Justice League Unlimited and maybe, the rest of the DC Timmverse too.
yep I agree.
YES JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED!!!
YASSS
Toàn Khánh Well, almost all of the animated franchises are better than the MCU.
No, 60s spiderman.
I like how all these storylines are better than the movies
Xmen: Evolution is another really great series that does the Xmen some serious justice

Just an opinion.
@@masenko81 She fires fireworks from her hands... no special fighting ability.. nothing all that special at all.. she just has instant flash grenades. She's a side kick at best. So I'll ask again.. why does she deserve more love?
They could've made her a techie, enhanced the intensity of her powers through SFX (let's be honest, the old-school animation probably didn't showcase her powers the best). Her character had potential. Would've preferred to see that over teen-Rogue and her lame Iceman romance.
