Very true. I also keep records of every device model number ect.. and what symptoms it was having. Also what ended up being the issue and what I did to fix it. It definitely makes doing repairs alot faster once you rember what each symptom generally means what needs to be fixed.
I would recommend that you keep records of each device and model boars ect. And keep what was the symptoms and board readings ect and what you did to resolve the issue. It will help you become a better tech and to repair devices alot faster.
I remembered the coil issue soon as you mentioned it restarts. I remembered same issue you showed us on the previous video. Great work and thanks for the lesson before because coils were on my mind because i learned this from you previously. thank you and a great video.
Love ur video kindly reply to me is it worth buying in 2021 I'm planning to buy it for gaming purpose should I go for it I don't have fiber net and even wifi just 5 Mbps cellular network gamers told me that u need fiber net with 100mbps or more internet speed because A10x is quite old processor is it true and should I go for it .... It's costing me 720$ in my country should I go for it...... And what is the white spot people are talking about.. They say 'many units have that damn white spot" what does it mean???? Please help🙏🙏😘
These coils, their cast "casing" - it's very brittle. And they have a lot of mass (they're very heavy for their size), and protrude significantly from the board surface. All factors making them _very_ susceptible to breakage if the device experience any kind of impact. This brittleness is why it's almost always the "casing" or "legs" that break, not the pads or its solder bond to them. It also makes them quite susceptible to cracking or crumbling when working on them, so for newcomers: experiment with grabbing, twisting, pulling, pushing etc on these coils, both with hot air and while cold, on donor boards. Get a good feel for how much force, what kinds of force, is too much, before you go troubleshooting a customer board and accidentally break a lot of good working coils when trying to see if they're stuck on and intact.
I said to myself before the video even started that it would be a coil issue. Apparently, it is. Thanks for the content. I knew what the issue was from ur previous videos.
Hey Mr. Sir. Electrical Engineer, I have a question for you. If you can answer me please, I like that Kind of Electrical Engineering, I want to work like that for my Hobby, do you know any good kind of Starter Kit? For novices of course. Thank you !!!
I'm having the identical issue on the identical iPad 10.5 after a battery replacement. Is this something a noob like myself could handle or should I just send it to the repair shop?? how much did this repair cost the customer?? thanks
Hi bro, i have Same ipad 10.5 got donated to us & i know about the coils problem but on my case all of the are solid & no missing ones should i still replace them or could be something else on the board ?
I have the same issue too. All coils are solid. I found that the flex cable for the smart connector was loose. I put some foam on top of the connector and the tablet works fine to this day.
@@itsmoses7973 so far i have the smart cover/connector cable disconnected and the device is ON for the past 10m will keep an eye on it & report back here is that fixed it or not thank you
@@itsmoses7973 update : after disconnecting the smart cover cable the device is been working for more than 2 hours i have it playing a long vid This might be possibly the cause of the problem in my situation since the coils that I had all perfect
My iPad restarts by itself without even getting to the Home Screen. You see the apple logo, then black screen and then the apple logo again. All that in a continuous loop for over a week now.
@@phcbui I still didn’t fix it. It’s probably a battery issue because I’ve noticed the problem started when the battery went down to zero. I tried to charge it but the screen didn’t come back on. Now it’s just a black screen.
Please make a video about how to select a good replacement screen for same iPad pro from AliExpress. I would like to get mine repaired locally but they charge a high price for a low quality screen (€300) in Germany + repair charges.
This is a design flaw, Apple made the device too thin and flimsy, it bends too much too easily, so during use the board keeps flexing and the legs of the coils break from metal fatigue.
I've torn apart a ton of electronics, including 10, or 11 tablets, I have never seen so many resistors on a single board. Its like apple decided to just take a simpler design, and complicate, just like the government.
Over a grand for iPad Pro and it's lasted a year, now it keeps going purple and shuts off and restarts, only happens now and then on more than one app. Apple products suck, all they offer for help is generic troubleshooting that doesn't fix the problem. I think I will be keeping away from Apple products in future, all my Apple products seem to go faulty after owning them just over a year. 🙃
My iPad keeps restarting and I couldn't use it, wtf Apple?? 🤨🤨 my phone never has this kind of problem but my iPad is so broken the speaker sound is gone, the turn on and off button wont work, screen problem, at this point iOS is just pure trash
It just shows how valuable experience is in a business makes everything more efficient.

BETTER THAN FACTORY!!!!
Always my friend, Always Better Than Factory
Coil soldering is better than factory!!!! RESPECT NorthridgeFix
Thank you
Thanks for your jobs. You should make videos about open devices, like ipad, imac, to show us your skill.
So much important information. This channel is one of the valuable channel on RUclips.
Hello.. Watched all your videos.. My favourite channel.. I always look for new videos of Northridgefix.. Amal from Mauritius 🇲🇺..
Good video.....why don’t you stock these coils ? Since it’s a known issue
Experience make u to work easy.. Great job.
If you didn't have a donor board, are these coils available at any of the component sites?
Love from India❤️
Svaka cast majstore, pozdrav iz Srbije!
Great Job 👍
Watching from India.
What do these coils do? I know resistors, diodes and chips, but no idea what coils do.
Brilliant as usual.
I wondered what the pitting is on top of some of the coils too. The broken coil has the same pitting, only worse.
just getting into this industry and i really appreciate your videos!! Thanks from Washington!!

Hello Sir, can you make video how tro open this ipad pro, thank you so much in advance
The lesson for me here is, always check components carefully, maybe they are loose even they seemed to be fine, thank you for sharing master
Short video, short explaining but huge info thanks
Not sure if you assembled the ipad yet but looks like that Coil knocked off the other component right next to it!
Short time nice detection

What is covering some of coils
Is it just me or is there a little movement on the coil being tested at the 2 minutes mark?

One of the stages of fault detection is a theoretical examination thanks Legend
Apple should glue those coils down with SMD glue.
But what's causing them to detach In the first place?
Job is done.... Better than the factory... 😂
