I bought two of the 72s. A red one and a black one. Since the boxes are at two different locations, home and one at work, I swapoed the drawers. I dig it. Black box with red drawers and red box with black drawers. Love 'em.
Awesome video! I always thought I would hate those drawer locks but now I love them, you always know when the drawers are fully closed and it helped me get in the habit of opening my larger, heavier drawers with 2 hands!
A little late now, but I have see reviews that mention a 5/16" hex nut can be inserted in the door to hold the log in the open position. no harm to the lock, and reversible by removing the nut.
She is a beauty. Hope you get many years of use. The yellow one ain't looking bad either. I got tired of the traditional red an bought the Blue one instead. Love it
Ive had this 72 inch box for almost 3 years now as a bus mechanic. Its been great and I have no complaints whatsoever. Too many guys in my shop have bought into the Snap On hype and spend upwards of 10k for a similar or smaller box, not even kidding. This option is just as good as Snap On and allows you to spend more on tools that actually make you money. I realize these are "Chinamade" but one would be hard pressed to find something that isnt these days.
I just picked up the 26" bottom. Super happy with the quality. Checked out the new Craftsman ones at Lowe's, and they were pretty flimsy by comparison, not to mention couple hundred more.
very true, weird how we decide to spend $ right? only thing is you use your phone more than your tools, people use their phones hundreds of times a day.
Great video. Thinking about getting a 72. Just picked up 3 of the 44's for a starter upgrade. The price is 1,500 bucks now for the big guy, Big deterrent at the moment
Maybe the only negative I've heard on these is that after you get them loaded up with tools, the rubber on the wheels compress making it a bear to move but this is really way to big to be rolling around anyways. I think you got a great price.
Alright!!! I'm Happy 4-U bud, I would have gone with a Black or Navy Blue, I like the Yellow 1 though, even though it shows a lot of grease, oil, dirt smudges, now you have room 2 grow & can use the yellow 1 as a cart backup? I have 3 tool boxes, Snap-on, Craftsman and a De-Walt, as well as more tools U can shake a stick @ all day!!! Anyway, I Truly hope you enjoy your Toolbox 4 many years 2 come. Peace!!!
Cut the pallet out underneath mine out or the way and rolled it off the trailer 72 in green finally came in got the 56 also sold the snap on 48 to cover the cost of the 72
those latches were the only thing that kept me from buying this box so I went with a rs pro 72 still have my 11yr old 44 that im using for a tool cart good bang for the buck for us diy guys
Do a search on YT. There's a few mods you need to do to this. I already heard your drawers squeaking and it's because of how the rails are hung on the drawers. You're going to need to rivet them in solidly on the outer rail, and where they are attached just by a J hook on the inner rail, squeeze that J bend with a clamp so it grabs tighter. That's where the noise and slop comes from. One example fix. ruclips.net/video/KogFvl205Ws/видео.html
how tall is the box without casters? I'm planning on putting it permanently under my shelving unit in my garage and dont know if I'll have to move the shelves up a bit. thanks.
I just measured mine, it is 35" from the bottom to the top where a top chest would sit, and 35 1/4" to the top of the little walls around the edge. This is without casters, so if you had 35 1/2" of clearance, you should be able to slide this in.
If you want a new box no prob go for it, but from what I saw you could do a lot of economizing on your old box and get more usable space. Start with all those retail storage bases some of your hand tools came in. They are a huge waste of space.
@@maxdoesstuff2134 thats crazy I've never seen or heard of that it is a gen one box right? Thats the big thing now their color options im pretty tripped out about this lol
@@notavailable7379 i've never seen one either up until a year ago now they have skittles colors, the only one they offered back then was like a faded red color only.
Years ago they had red, yellow and black tool box’s in the matte finish textured boxes. The black and yellow boxes were special order thru their catalog when they still had that.
If I could give zero I would. I recently ordered a toolchest online,us general 72in to match the one I bought 7 months ago. It was on clearance, new series was coming. Order went through order in possessing. I wait about a month 21 biss days for ship, I hear nothing so I call first lady says they are looking for a shipper. So I wait another week hear nothing so I call and get a lady says sorry item is back ordered and may or may not show up from China and my order will be canceled card refunded is there anything else I can do for you she says. Mean while my card was charged the day I made my order and my credit score dropped aswell when they damn well know they don't have the chest. Harbor Freight is the worst
Dave Staats you could order yellow and black matte finish boxes from their catalog ten or twelve years ago I have two black 44in I’ve had for over ten years.

That cost less than my last phone...and probably won't be obsolete in 3 years...lol

Picked up a 72” bottom and 44” top a few weeks ago. Best boxes for the money, period.
Best thing about this video is your cute supervisors in the back. Really interested in what your doing.

I was wondering how it got shipped and how to unload it, still have to think about how to do it with my current equipment. Thanks for the upload

I actually like that yellow box. I never seen it at a harbor freight store neither online.
Just bought one today because I had a $200 off coupon for it. Looks pretty good, I have a few of their smaller carts and cabinets
I love your Bullmastiff. 👍
Looks like fun since I will have to unload by hand
My brother bought my 72 inch for $200 BRAND NEW! MGR TIRED WORKING AROUND IT AND IT HAD A SMALL DENT😀
Fun video! I hope to add a couple 72 inch boxes to my garage down the road also. I just subscribed.
You could pull the wheels off the yellow box and use it as a top box on the 72??
loved the music

So you need a fork lift for this? Planning to buy it shipped to my house but now how will I remove those pallet with out a fork cliff?
I wonder if the old yellow toolbox was sad that it was getting replaced as the main box.
YOU CAN WEDGE A NUT IN THE LATCH TO KEEP THE DRAWERS FROM LOCKING?..?

$1100?!?! Man, that's a bargain. I'm about to pick one up this weekend and it's $1700 now.
Came here for the review, left just wanting to pet those puppies haha

@Flat Bastard Engineering Channel Gotta love it :-)
I tryed one and when I put half of my 3/4 socket in it, it hit the floor

Can you give a top drawer hieght measurement? Have 5" tall sockets I want to stand up in said drawer if I purchase this box :D

My tool cart is yellow and it just got offended. LOL
42x18? That US General badge is different than most I see
Hows the box holding up ?
I don't have a truck or a tractor, how the hell would I get this into my garage? =(
you gonna need that running Polaris or can am
Harbor freight just recently offered the toolboxes in yellow green orange so how is this a 11 year old box?
I was just thinking the same thing. And even the gen 1 was 44" inch not 42 so I'm confused.
@@matthewschuettpelz6116 the gen 1 was 42 inches. It was advertised as 44 inches but it wasn't. I had one.
How wide is the top drawer
52”
Not too bad
man inflations hits hard when you se0 the price of the 56" now. the 56" is currently just $900 in 2022 and the 72 is nearly $1700
Thanks Joe Biden and Democratic party.
Helps to have a forklift!
How do you get this out of a truck without a tractor?
Engine hoist
Hey are you from Vermont!
You think a 56in us general could fit in a bed of a avalanche somebody let me know
Probably way to late to comment but I just hauled a 56" in my 5ft bed Tacoma.
So the wife said I could get the box. Now to convince her to let me get a tractor to unload it.

Harbor Freight tool boxes have only been in different colors for a couple of years so this Yellow tool box can't be 11 years old
Dave Staats you could order yellow and black matte finish boxes from their catalog ten or twelve years ago I have two black 44in I’ve had for over ten years.
Oh and 2 42's would be bigger than a 72
Lol you call that box full? Seriously?
I'd go with any color EXCEPT red. So dead common - seen everywhere! Any is there anything quite so mind numbing and pointless as "unboxing" videos???
