I've listened to bluegrass music for fifty years. Been waiting for Billy Strings to come along and bring bluegrass into the future. Excellent band. Hope I get to see them live.
I’m impressed with the innovative take on classic tunes! These guys make me smile and shake my head in wonder. Best I’ve heard since the end of Flatt and Scruggs.
Tony Rice ,Ricky Skaggs. Pat Flynn,Vince Gill ,Norman Blake,Doc ,Clarence White. He's All these guys, with Rock licks thrown in there,on this song he could be in a band with Duane and Greg, just sayin! Excellent musician, can play anything! He can play with Eric,John Mayer, Santana, but l don't see any of them playing his music at about 400 bpm, except Vince Gill, but he's Vince Gill
WOW... that whole band is awesome.... I love that Thompson guitar that Billy's playing....as soon as I get 10,000.00 dollars I'll get one !🎸🎤 thanks for sharing 👍👌😎
Thank you for recording all this from the Portland shows. I missed out on getting tickets so being able to experience parts of the shows on here is really great.
What a Great couple of shows those were! I love your work guys ❤️ thank you 🙏 I just found your video of Shining Star Garcia ‘93 Portland. It’s missing from your playlist of the night. I was there way back then and remember driving home with Shining Star in my head. Thank you for the memories.
There could be a whole sub-youtube with Billy material on it. I've been working through all I can find and everytime I find a gem, three more pop up in suggested.. Definitely not complaining!!
Is Billy reverse-aging? Bowie went through a period where he looked like he was getting younger. Might have something to do with that crossroads thing.
Meh. He's real good at noodling. Everything he does sounds the same and there's nothing quite as rediculous as hearing a kid from Michigan sing like he's from the Kentucky hills. Sure he can rip a guitar right apart, but my money says he gets real tired of the bluegrass schtick pretty soon.
@@paulevans6403 I'm from rural Michigan, and have spent much of my adult life in both the UP and the lower peninsula. It's not Kentucky. And he's only 25 years old, roughly. What I'm saying is that he's going to get bored with the bluegrass thing. He's a killer player, I've never denied that and I didn't mean to insult him. You can already see him trying to reach beyond the bluegrass tropes. You can tell that his creativity is stifled, he's reduced to playing repetitive and uninspired noodling, which because he's so good naturally it seems like he's tearing it up but really he's just up there like a trained monkey, doing monkey things for the people. It's not a challenge for him to do what he does in this video, and he's too good to take it easy and play bluegrass licks in the key of G forever. He's gonna get bored, he's gonna quit the bluegrass thing because it's too restrictive...but he's young and successful, and it'll take some time before we really hear what he's got.
I don’t see Strings abandoning the Bluegrass quartet but he’s already branched out into different configurations. His short stint with Bill Kreutzman at Red Rocks was very enjoyable. He is too good a flat picker to bag the thing that got him noticed. Guys like this don’t come around that often. Clarence White, Dan Crary, Tony Rice, and Bryan Sutton are a few which immediately come to mind.

Go see them live it was the highlight of 2021 for me spare no expense trust me
Saw him/them in October at the Mission Ballroom in DENCO. Did not disappoint! Truly spectacular show!!!
That’s quite an endorsement. I hope you get to see them too. 👍🏻🤠
I like how he can do straight traditional bluegrass pretty dam good if he wants to, along with all the fireworks
You veteran, Awesome man.
Have the same hope as you.
But I hope he can find the Netherlands some day.
Peace man ✌🏼🐏💚
I love how much his bandmates have developed too over the past few years. A heck of a lot of talent playing on that stage!
Replace the word "talent" with "work ethic" and you're right

Okay this video just rips - the sheer talent and that mandolin player... fanastic!
Jarrod is the bomb!!!
They're all a little extra.. a lot extra...
If you haven't checked out Tentacle Dragon from Belas BGH, you should, the guitar exchanged between Billy and Bryan is over the top!!!
@@brianvoith4235 Thanks Brian for the recommendation - I will definitely check this out and looking forward to it!
@@brianvoith4235 Watched! Oh yeah, just incredible,. This is what music is supposed to be!
What talent for such a young guy. I pray he stays away from drugs, etc.
It’s like Stevie Ray came back and does amazing blue grass now.
He’s simply awesome!!
Amen , SRV is God, Billy is Peter, Paul, and John
I’ve never seen anyone rock an acoustic guitar like this man does!
You couldn't be more right about that
Tommy Emmanuel can get it going some ….

@@JohnMAdams-nl9zt tommy Emmanuel is the biggest cheeseball showy, tasteless player I’ve ever heard. He is such a douchebag player:

Amazing band. Billy is a natural. 🤠❤️

Hoss x4. What an amazing group of pickers. Next Level Grass
Bluegrass for metalheads😁
REAL TALENT. No computers to help them sing or play better...
those boys can play...
Nice solo Billy.
Nice. 😊
Please feel free to sample or sync anything you want from the footage I captured and posted. I love the multi camera stuff you do.
Very nice madalin solo.
this is my style of guitar pickin bluegrass
learned from the Best...Flatt and Scruggs
String dustin’
Jarrod F’in Walker. Full beast mode.
The fuzz box is a nice new twist
The effects boxes are not that new. It kind of muddies the sound unfortunately.
I just tossed my guitar in the dumpster.
VERY FUNNY! 🤣
I got the same tee as ol Jarrod. Tampa Dead and Co. Show 2021 that never happened. By @swampgoods 💀🌹
Wizard
if u slide ur fingers like he does, without hours of practice u WILL slice them open like cantalopes
and ofc everyone on HeeHaw
That's a mandolin
I actually thought I was prettty good b4 I saw this
I could of done that !

compared to my pickin that guy is Einstein
great performance, the let down with the upside down crosses..too bad

He's only been doing it 25 years you fool. And you understand nothing about rural Michigan.
