  • After over two years in the making, we are proud to be a part of the One Man ELP project; the brainchild of the amazingly talented Antoine Baril of Québec, Canada. As with his previous "One Man" videos that he has released over the last 7 years (Rush, Genesis, Yes), his attention to detail and accuracy is second to none and it was amazing to watch him at work within our walls for an intense week of keyboard craziness in July 2022. Along with his fantastic videographer Paul DiGiacomo, they captured some stunning footage and audio to make this epic video project one for the ages. It was a blast to play a supporting role in this. We gave full access to our Keith Emerson keyboard rig (as well as our extensive collection of vintage analog synths) to Antoine; it was like turning a kid loose in a candy store, a cornucopia of awesomeness! Join us for an exclusive backstage peek at some of the recording processes and video shoots during this one-week period. The ELP material he performed and recorded runs EMEAPP executive director, Drew Raison, will take you on an up close and personal tour of all the keyboards and synthesizers that were used in this project.

    Im amazed at how our brains can make patterns of sounds into a pleasure. And Antoine made this a life passion. Many people will lose everything except music. Music is a power in us that physics is powerless to define.

    Thank you EMEAPP for allowing us to see the studio housing some of the best Synths and gear used by Keith Emerson! Watching Antoine play these amazing vintage instruments was a thrill!. I grew up on ELP, seeing them play on the Trilogy tour at Asbury Park, New Jersey Convention Hall. Absolutely amazing time to live through the beginnings of progressive Rock. Antoine Baril showcases his skill and talent doing his one man shows. Bravo!

      The GX-1 cost like $70,000 in the 70s. Like $500,000 today. I saw ELP in 77 in Chicago. Great stuff from the past!

    Who works on that GX-1 if need be? If you look at my picture, I have an EX-2 , basically a 2 keyboard CS-80 (90% the same electronics inside...as I am told). Would like to find somewhere in the northeast that could work on it, perhaps modify it. I have followed Keith GX-1 stuff since day one. LOVE that you have the TX-lll speakers!

    Pretty cool but if they have all of the instruments available that Keith Emerson used, why are they using additional instruments that he didn't use? 🤷‍♂

    • @emeapp
      @emeapp  2 года назад +10

      Variety is the spice of life! Many of these other instruments were specifically requested by Antoine as a part of this project and we were more than happy to oblige him. Antoine wanted to add his own sonic and visual flavor to these recordings and we gave him full access to our entire collection so that he could create his dream keyboard rig. When his final video is posted, it will look and sound absolutely amazing.

    I love Emerson but can't stand the organ sound he asked Goff to make for him.

    • @emeapp
      @emeapp  Год назад

      Sergio- Keith wanted to maximize the 'bite' of the percussion element to allow it to cut through anything. Al Goff made it happen for him. Please understand that Al did it for Keith, it is definitely not a Goff Professional thing.
