Russian SAM-6 Antiaircraft Missile, Part 6, Missiles, Log, Chipping, Decals

- In this video we paint our missiles, the ditching log, do some sponge chipping, and apply our decals on Trumpeters Russian SAM-6 Antiaircraft Missile in 1/35 scale.
This vehicle is the TEL (Transporter, Erector, Launcher) of the 2K12 Kub air defense system. The system consists of 4 of these launchers, a radar guidance vehicle, 4 trucks containing 3 missiles each for reloads, and a crane to load the missiles. Development of the system began in 1958 and was adopted for use in 1967. Some 500 TELs were manufactured along with more than 10,000 missiles. It is still in use today in the Ukraine being used against the Russians in the Russian Ukraine war.

Interesting that you chose the Polish version. This build has convinced me to add this to my stash. A very reasonably priced kit. Hope you build that JS-2 sometime.

Hi Johnny, I'm very impressed with the finish on the missiles and I fully agree that they would look a lot fresher than the vehicle/launcher. The finish on the log looks good too, although, I did have my doubts when you started!! Looking forward to more next week, take care.

Very good work on the missiles and decals, Johnny! The thing with the bands on the missiles (IIRC) denotes live warheads and rocket engines versus training ones. The decals you put on are Polish national insignia. It looks like you've got the standard Warsaw Pact decal sheet: Russian, East German, Polish and Czech along with vehicle numbers. It's looking awesome though!

Boy, you really are the grand master of masking 🙂Pretty excellent fine motor skills for someone who lugged around tank tracks for a living! But I gotta hand it to ya, Johnny, they turned out beautifully 😍And the log is perfect too - I think I*ll try your method and color scheme on some logs for my two T-34s (if you don't mind me copying you, that is). Can't wait to see it finished. On a side note: this week Jimmy Fallon made the joke "Today is National Tequila Day, and also National Cousins Day. Or, as it is called in West Virginia, Valentine's Day!" - Is that true? Anyway, I wish you a nice weeekend!
Hi Mike, copy me all you like buddy, you'll probably make it work better than I did! On the side note: you know you're doing things right if Jimmy Falon wants to make fun of you, lol. I did a little research and found out that the states that let you marry your first cousins are Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, and Virginia. And it's not criminal to have sex with your sister if you're in New Jersey or Rhode Island, as long as you're of the age of consent, you just can't marry them, LOL!!! This was a fun little research subject and of course my buddy that lives in Virginia is just going to hate that West Virginia isn't on the list, hahahahaha!!! Thanks buddy, take care and model on!
