    My hands are not good, until I found Clover Amour , I thought I might have to regulate what I did, I love them, they have changed my crochet life. I alternate between Tulip, and clover depending on the pain.

      So glad you found them! I’ll have to check out tulip some time, too.

    I tend to work with small hooks, 0.5mm-1.5mm and found the Amour and Soft Touch hooks to be too light. Because of that I stayed away from them until I borrowed a 3mm Amour hook from a friend and it was amazing. I ended up preferring the Soft Touch hooks (and they're usually cheaper), but both lines are wonderful to work with. I still don't like the really small hooks though, and I really wish I did.
    When people I know are trying to learn to crochet I always let them borrow a Soft Touch or Amour hook. They're an expensive investment for a beginner, but most seem to learn faster when they don't have to fight with the hook and yarn.

    Yay! I finally see someone using the same crocheting technique I do! I hold my yarn between my index and middle finger and flip it over the hook too. Could never get the hang of the “regular” way of holding the yarn. And I love the Clover Amour hooks too.

      I’ve tried so hard but I just can’t hold yarn wrapped around my fingers like many do.

      I have too. It looks so elegant, but I can’t do it! @@acekreates

    Great video on the clover amour hooks. They are my favorite. I have heard that furl hooks are amazing but I have yet to make the plunge to purchase one of those.

      I too have heard they are amazing but definitely investment pieces. I’ve thought about trying the Prym hooks next.

      @@acekreates tried them and i didnt like them at all. They felt weak in my hands like they would break. They were light in the hand. I hold my hooks like a knife and the handle was too round

    I just wish they had a longer handle, I have larger hands and they’re just too short to be comfy 😢 still trying to find a hook that glides like butter AND has a long handle

      I have found some longer hooks that are very nice from We Crochet called Dots. They have almost the same head as the Clover Amur and so comfortable to hold. At the moment the set is on sale for around $20.

    These look amazing but I am still searching for s great set of round barrel hooks, no flat thumb rest. So difficult to find. I tend to roll my hook rather than manipulate wrist movements. 🌹

      You might try prym. Def not my favorite and I have plans for a review in the next month or two but their barrel is more rounded.

      @@acekreates Yes! I have PRYM hooks on my radar. Some mentioned they have a completely rounded barrel, but they're about 1/2" longer than an average hook. Is that correct? I look forward to your review of them. Also they're plastic, so more fragile?

  • @frostyskittle_
    @frostyskittle_ Год назад

    Have you ever felt like they would, or have one of the plastic Clovers snap? im curious about that..

    • @acekreates
      @acekreates  Год назад

      Nope! I don’t believe they would ever snap and I consider myself a tight crocheter.

    I haven't tried them but I don't understand how they could be as good as people say

    • @acekreates
      @acekreates  Год назад

      They really are. I have tried other metal hooks, at least the cheap ones, and there definitely is a quality difference. The Clover hooks just glide off your hook, where as I have found some others grip the yarn more, especially depending on how the metal is cast with the angles of the mold.

    • @dianneepps2268
      @dianneepps2268 Год назад +2

      The yarn glides so smoothly over the hook.

    I'm in the minority... I don't really like Clover hooks.

    • @acekreates
      @acekreates  6 месяцев назад

      That’s ok! You have to work with what you love! What hooks do you use.
