Sad day. As a musician he had such an influence on me. From the Raspberries to his solo career. Such a gifted musician and songwriter. I was lucky enough to see him perform with Ringo Starr as one of his All Starr’s. RIP Eric.
I remember watching Don Kirshner's Rock Concert Saturday nights when I got home. The Midnight Special too hosted by "Wolfman Jack." Great music. Eric's and the Raspberries songs will live on! I can still hear them when I think of the 1970's. AM radio fans loved Raspberries music in the 70's. I was at Charlotte High School in Rochester, NY in the 1970s when the Raspberries came out. I still remember buying their first self-titled "Vinyl" album with the "Scratch and Sniff" sticker on the front. Yes, if you scratched it, it smelled like Raspberries! They had a lot of great songs but my two favorites were, "I Can Remember," and "If You Change Your Mind." I had lost a high school sweet heart back then, and it seemed every one of Eric's words resonated with the feelings I was going through. After Eric left the band for his solo career in the late 1970s, I believe it was the Summer of 1975, I saw the remaining band with Wally Bryson on lead guitar, doing a show at the Hilton High School gymnasium in Hilton, NY. The Raspberries were Great with Eric and Eric had many hits alone and it was great they re-united in the later years to do great shows together again. Thanks Eric, Thanks Raspberries for Great memories... ♥✝🙏
I grew up in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. There was a watering hole there called the Corral. The Raspberries were like the unofficial house band. I swear, their name was on the marquee permanently.
Wow. 1973... the beginning of my Senior Year in High School. I never listened to Top 40 Radio very much, but this band (and Go All The Way) certainly stands the test of time!
I agree: Very underrated band! And Carmen was a very underrated songwriter....while with the Raspberries and after. Maybe not as prolific as "Sir Paul", but like Paul, he could write a broad array of music. Those composers really understand their craft.
Until I researchd the lyrics I thought it was the guy begging the girl to go all the way, but in fact it´s the girl wanting the guy to take her. Go figure, eh?

"Tonight" is my favorite Raspberries song. It really rocks and I love Jim Bonfanti's drumming.
My favorite band

Music as it should be!

Eric Carmen was magical ! One of the best performers EVER ! He delivered nothing but professional artistry to his FANS ! ❤️
My first concert was the Raspberries. 1974 Clinch Valley College in Virginia. I was 15
I sat with Eric at his piano when they played at Hullabaloo in the 70's. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da'in with the Raspberries. Great Times!
What was that like
Must have been AMAZING! LUCKY!
great. So much Energy
My first album go all the way. 1972. The album smelled like raspberries
So glad we have the gift of Eric Carmen s music. Always and forever. ❤
Loved their music. Wished I could have seen them live. I don't think they ever made it to Oklahoma. Pooh.
Love him still
Just to think these guys were .... what? 24 years old at the time. Boy did they have it going. Loving the energy level from the get go!
Great band! RIP Eric Carmen.
I love this song and love Eric Carmen!
So great
❤ Raspberries please do a Tribute to Eric in Cleveland Ohio for free so we can come together and remember him ❤
Damn that was GOOD! Made me feel 14 yo all over again!
A CLASSIC ON A CLASSIC SHOW
Saw them at the Chesterland Hallaballoo in the early 70s. I liked Eric on the piano singing OH BLA DEE OH BLA DAH.

"Go All the Way"...probably the most perfect power pop song ever. At least until Cheap Trick came along.
Rip Eric ❤😢

Anything else "underrated"?
Please, please, please, go back in time and tell the cameraman to show Wally's hands!!!!
When I first heard this song I thought he said please go away '---duh
Until I researchd the lyrics I thought it was the guy begging the girl to go all the way, but in fact it´s the girl wanting the guy to take her. Go figure, eh?
I was 13 and for a lot of years I thought it was "Don't go away". Funny.
Tenía mucha influencia de los beatles sin duda el gran Eric
Nikki Sixx suggested I check this out...
RIP, Eric Carmen.
RIP Eric Carmen. Boats against the current is such a fine record from his solo career. Very few weak tracks.

But you watched it? 😂
