- The time has FINALLY come! We have the tent! We ordered our wall tent back in April and the anticipation of getting it and setting it up was almost too much to bear! But the wait is over, it was finally delivered, we got it all put together and we absolutely LOVE it!
But it just wouldn't be us if we didn't make some modifications to it, right?
Once we got the tent set up- which was a challenge in itself being we were on a platform not much wider than the tent itself- we got right to work on putting in an insulated floor. We will absolutely be using this tent in the winter time, so any little extra bit of warmth we can conjure up will be so nice on those frigid Minnesota nights.
But what about the secret? Well we've also been working double-time (triple-time for Ted) on a super fun side project and we're so excited to finally be able to share it with you guys!

The fly for it is currently out of stock…. We are in the process of trying to figure out a way to cover the entire structure with another form of roof! But we haven’t completely figured that out yet!🫣😖😬 it has done surprisingly well without it, though! 🤞🏼

It’s seriously came out of nowhere! From sunny and hot to a huge storm in less than 20 minutes! we are so thankful that everything has survived the storms that we’ve had! We had rain this week that totaled over 9 inches in one storm! There is flooding everywhere!

That poor turtle. He spent over an hour to try to cross the road. He almost reached the other side when you put him back where he started.
You couldn’t tell from the video, but we always pay attention to which way the turtle is facing when we pull up on it. This turtle was placed on the side of the road that she was headed towards! So we actually helped her cross the road! ❤️ 🐢 ❤️
where I live it kind of the same way I live in mountains also. We have a bunch of lakes gold lake, silver lake, sand pond. lookouts it very beautiful here too. it the sierra Nevada's.

Will you be insulating the roof/walls for winter? While in the Army, our medical unit used several types of tentage. These came with light canvas liners that were effective insulators for heat and cold.
We didn’t know stuff like that existed! We have plans to have wool type curtains, but not much else! We may have to look into the canvas liners! Thank you so much for your advice! We hope you are having a wonderful weekend!🌲😊❤️
I absolutely love the tent. One question, is there a place for a stove in there? I love where y'all live. I'd like to spend a year there and experience it all. Maybe something in my retirement. Love these videos. Such a contrast from the house remodel, which I loved, but these are so much more peaceful and it looks like y'all are having a lot more fun. Was wondering, I know Willow is done with puppies but what about Clifford? He is such an awesome dog. It would be great if he could sire some pups. Or did you turn in his license plates. You should have helped the turtle get to the other side of the road instead of putting it back where it started. That is what I would have done of course.
You couldn’t tell from the video but…. We ALWAYS pay attention to which way it’s heading when you first see it. This turtle was heading in the direction of we placed it. Safely to the other side of the road…🐢 ❤️ 🌲😊❤️

We have plans to build some form of structure over the top of it that (hopefully) will be slippery enough to slide the snow off easily! We haven’t completely figured that out yet, though! 😖🫣😬

Hey there The Life in 🌲🌲🌲! The cabin tent looks amazing! I told Paul that was my idea to begin with here, only on the ground and then he exploded it to the off grid treehouse. Minnesota hadn’t been on our radar to visit but after watching you guys all this time and now with your new adventure video you’ve definitely peaked our interest! It just looks so gorgeous up there. I hope you guys get ride of some of those trees around your house. too dangerous, also need some strong wooden frame around and on top your tent for protection of heavy snow and falling branches from the trees.
We are trying to figure out a way to construct a different roof system over the tent to shed snow ❄️ 🫣 The snow is going to be here before we know it!

😂 you can’t tell from the video, but we always pay attention to which way the turtle is facing when we first pull up. This turtle was facing in the direction that we placed it. Safely on the other side of the road! 🐢 ❤️ 😊

Oh good!! Screens/nets are a MUST in wooded areas, as you well know! Chris has been working out of town and staying at a campground instead of hotels to save money. They've tried just about everything to save themselves from the horrible amount of skeeters out there... except for screen!! I suggested they buy a pop-up netted canopy tent and they were like "genius!". 🤣😂🤣 I was like, thank you, that's why you need wives around lolol. How they hadn't thought of that, I have no clue 🤦🏻♀️😆 Anywho, glad you're loving your little bit of treetop paradise!! 🥰

Hello guys from Siberia, from the shore of Lake Baikal! We obviously have the same climate as you... and even the beetles are the same, even though we live apart from each other on the other side of the globe! You have built a wonderful platform and a tent for it is just right, but only if you do not constantly keep warm in this tent in winter, all your "insulation" of the floor is useless... the linoleum will freeze and begin to crumble. It would be better to leave the boards open, so it is fresher in summer and any small debris will go through the cracks by itself. And for the winter, lay styrofoam and osb... although I am not a supporter of these materials at all. They evaporate chloride from the temperature, and breathing it is as dangerous as tasting sarin (a chemical warfare agent)! Respect from Russia! 😊
