- This is the first episode of the engine tuck process on a 90-96 Nissan 300zx. In this episode we are relocationg the PTU and the massive fuse panel that sit in the engine bay. The reasons why I am starting this process is:
1.) By relocating these parts, it will leave us more room to work on the engine,
2.) It gives the car a better chance against fire hazards.
3.) Overall it just looks good!
Be sure to follow the entire process, and to order our decals!

Great video! Doing this on my Z32 soon so this video will be my go-to.
Love it! Good luck!
Great video man, just got an RHD TT Manual Fairlady. Tons of mods on it and I have no idea where to start... You are helping me tremendously. Great work bro!
That's the goal! Thank you for the support and good luck on the build!
Lmao that arrow shows the flow of the current
nice, my only concern is if you decide to go TT, the fuse box may be in the way if you go SMIC. When I relocated mine i moved it to the passenger seat crush panel, next to ECU only problem was I had to cut and extend every wire in the fuse box, took two about two weeks. Also I would recommend soldering and double heat shrinking them instead of wire connectors solder makes a much better connection durability wise and longevity
Stephen Kalogiannis yea that's a good point! But by that time I'm hoping to have it relocated to the passenger side firewall hopefully! But I didn't think about that haha.
The fuse box would be subjected to water as well
Putting the PTU there would expose it to water...go a little higher towards the bumper
And the relay box, gauranted electrical problem in the rain. I would wrap it in a plastic bag or something lol
@@brianheiden6623 jimmy oaks had his like this on his red z for years and would drive it in rain and nothing happened to it. The fuse box is sealed pretty nice. It’ll be fine 👍🏾
All these subscribers your a popular guy treet yourself don't cheat yourself tt swap that z bruh! Your missing out on a lot of fun trust me had mine since I was your age im 47 now and still mobin my 630hp tt. Do it trust. Will give you a ton of videos for the swap plus you will driving the real z32 flagship. I had the na to just isn't enough for that heavy of a car. Might get a little sketchy drifting it though gotta be awake when those turbos kick! Nice video keep up the good work young bruh
Thats the plan! Thank you for all of the support!!
Dude, great video. Thanks
Delete the secondary clutch bleed hardline - it's an eyesore.
Adam thanks I was def thinking about it!
This is the wrong way to wire tuck. You need to take the fuse box into the passenger side foot panel next to the ecu. Not in the elements where you located the fuse box.
This is only a track car which rarely sees rain so its not an issue. Thanks for the input though!
Hey man, great vid 👍🏻
Brad House thanks!
🔥🔥🔥
Good shit
TURNS & BURNS thanks!
Z-Bruhz you should get a manual made to show everyone how its done! Me personally I learn better from print with all the steps lol
Hmmm, that's actually a great idea!
I'd buy one throw some pictures in there and walk through the process I'd definitely buy one I need all the help I can get with my z lol
@@DeadlyD8411 well I hope my videos ate helpful!!
@@ZBruhzchannel very helpful man thxs
Couldnt water splash up into the ptu/fuse box?
That it definitely can, so this is on the drift car which hasn't seen alot of rain. BUT if it has rained at an event I just wrap it up with a plastic bag
@@ZBruhzchannel Good answer. Ive been following along with your videos for a while in regards to finishing up my ‘95 slicktop. Did you build your motor or even touch bottom end? Thats the part im stuck on. Alot of that stuff you got to be precise on and one mistake is fatal.
@mlestones have not touched any bottomed end stuff but will be soon!
just notice you dont have a clutch fan/fan shroud? what do you gotta do to make the car run smooth without it? i always thought it was a must :) great vids thanks for content!
jake beavs I was running an electric fan set up off of a buick regal for about a year that mark and i wired up. I am currently now running the clutch fan with no shroud and the mishimoto radiator and it is running fine. I do have two mishimoto fans that will be installed soon. Thanks for the support!
ok word hah thats sick man.
Was that old school Vanna in the background? lol
Yep, they are local to us and have been fans forever haha
@@ZBruhzchannel that's awesome.. I've been listening to their new stuff under Inspirit on repeat lately..
@@OmynZ33 same here hahaha
Did you cut any wire's?
I didnt cut anywires!
Does this make it harder to work on?
AE SC no it actually opened things up pretty well
Won’t that fuse box create an issue if it gets wet?
Probably yes, this is a drift car that rarely sees rain. But I have run it in a training event and did not have a problem
hey great vid bro. just wanna ask are there any disadvantages to engine tucking the Z ?
Mainly I am doing this to make it easier for myself to work on the z if need be. By tucking it cleans up the bay and makes it easier to get your hands in the tighter spaces. There's a couple of wires that I won't tuck just due to if I need to get to them I don't want it to be a hassle.
What state are you in? I just got a 300zx and I want to engine bay shave mine but I don’t know anyone else that knows much about these cars?
Fifty Fifty we are located in western Massachusetts.
Why does the ptu needs to have the arrow pointing up?
Eduardo Garcia I'm pretty sure it has to do with a balance issue inside the block itself, I reme.ber being told in a group on Facebook to keep the arrow pointing up
Z-Bruhz do you what can throw it off if its not pointing up?
It could throw off fuel delivery to injectors or the electrical timing of the engine. It is a main component when it comes to the ignition system on z32's
Where would you get all the hoses for the intake?
have you thought about going NA-TT?
John Olson I have but saving up is going to take a while
Why Bother... Why won't any redivise the old with the new... Why keep thinking'' 89'' why aren't you's thinking fibre optic.. multi senses... Why all the Wiring... See'' If you people can trick up the placing of where it once was... then why aren't you's making less headaches and bypassing a sign of the Times... This Is another shit video..
Byron Clown thanks for the input!
