  • This is the first episode of the engine tuck process on a 90-96 Nissan 300zx. In this episode we are relocationg the PTU and the massive fuse panel that sit in the engine bay. The reasons why I am starting this process is:
    1.) By relocating these parts, it will leave us more room to work on the engine,
    2.) It gives the car a better chance against fire hazards.
    3.) Overall it just looks good!
    Be sure to follow the entire process, and to order our decals!
    To order decals please email zbruhzchannel@gmail.com or DM us on our facebook page or our Instagram page!

    nice, my only concern is if you decide to go TT, the fuse box may be in the way if you go SMIC. When I relocated mine i moved it to the passenger seat crush panel, next to ECU only problem was I had to cut and extend every wire in the fuse box, took two about two weeks. Also I would recommend soldering and double heat shrinking them instead of wire connectors solder makes a much better connection durability wise and longevity

      @ZBruhzchannel  6 лет назад

      Stephen Kalogiannis yea that's a good point! But by that time I'm hoping to have it relocated to the passenger side firewall hopefully! But I didn't think about that haha.

    • @razorb23

      The fuse box would be subjected to water as well

  • @razorb23
    @razorb23 3 года назад +5

    Putting the PTU there would expose it to water...go a little higher towards the bumper

      And the relay box, gauranted electrical problem in the rain. I would wrap it in a plastic bag or something lol

    This is the wrong way to wire tuck. You need to take the fuse box into the passenger side foot panel next to the ecu. Not in the elements where you located the fuse box.

      This is only a track car which rarely sees rain so its not an issue. Thanks for the input though!

    hey great vid bro. just wanna ask are there any disadvantages to engine tucking the Z ?

    • @ZBruhzchannel
      @ZBruhzchannel  6 лет назад +1

      Mainly I am doing this to make it easier for myself to work on the z if need be. By tucking it cleans up the bay and makes it easier to get your hands in the tighter spaces. There's a couple of wires that I won't tuck just due to if I need to get to them I don't want it to be a hassle.

    Why does the ptu needs to have the arrow pointing up?

    • @ZBruhzchannel
      @ZBruhzchannel  6 лет назад

      Eduardo Garcia I'm pretty sure it has to do with a balance issue inside the block itself, I reme.ber being told in a group on Facebook to keep the arrow pointing up

      Z-Bruhz do you what can throw it off if its not pointing up?

    • @ZBruhzchannel
      @ZBruhzchannel  6 лет назад

      It could throw off fuel delivery to injectors or the electrical timing of the engine. It is a main component when it comes to the ignition system on z32's
