    This is what happened after the tee shots: Faldo played out of the rough with a middle wedge and played another wedge to about eight feet and made the putt for a par. Curtis hit his approach shot short of the green and failed to get up and down for par and lost the match 1 down. Curtis contributed zero points for the team. Had he contributed even a half point the Americans would have retained the Cup. Lanny picked Curtis because they were both pot-smoking buddies at Wake Forest.

      He picked him because they were friends and Curtis was a great golfer at that time. Pot smoking had nothing to do with it dumbass, dumbass, dumbass.

      @@chrisledbetter9278 John Daly had just won the British Open a few months earlier and was playing his best golf, yet Lanny still did not pick him. I'm sure John would have produced at least the half point needed to retain the Cup.
