In the world of hip hop super powers, you’d be hard pressed to find two larger entities than Diddy and Dr. Dre. Recently, there’s been two dope documentaries that have come out about each of them - The Defiant Ones on HBO and Can’t Stop Won’t Stop on Apple Music. But what if our Batman and Superman faced off in a battle for hip hop supremacy? Let’s break it down…

Dre ran the 80s with NWA, ran the 90s with snoop, himself and Pac for a while. He ran the 2000s with Eminem 50 cent and game. He still runs this decade with Kendrick. Diddy had Biggie, that's pretty much it. There's no comparison at all.

Bean sorry he didn't run the 80's if he did then where is the birthplace of hip hop oh you mean when Dre was with the world class wreaking crew? Whoever you are knowledge negates ignorance.

I don't think Dre deserves too much credit for Pac's success, they only did 2 songs together. Not to mention Tupac did not like Dre at all.

Kappp Gjiio i suppose you were in the studio at Deathrow the whole time right? And i am guessing you have never heard of a producer, exec producer, collaborator or a consultant? Pac made a snide remark on the maki album "California pt2 w/o gay ass Dre"... doesnt mean he didnt like Dre. Pac probably got his feelers hurt when Dre left. Eazy was mad at dre as well but it didnt mean they didnt like eachother... w/o Dre suge and Pac knew for a fact Deathrow wouldnt last and would collapse. Rumor has it, Pac and Dre were looking to Bring Dre to Aftermath right b4 dre left? Idk...rumors

@HOMIE LB He did, but only in the end, not when he signed to Death row. The main reason was that they have 2 completely different work ethnics. Pas was hyperactive and tried to put out as much songs as possible, while Dre took his time to perfect the song. Those 2 personalties can't work together, they are not compatible.

Taking everything into account, everything is about equal except Dre has a way better supporting lineup. Eminem, Kurupt, Kendrick, Xzibit, Snoop, 50 Cent, Game. Other than Biggie, Puff can't fuck with that. Plus Dre created a brand new genre in hip hop with G-Funk. Puff just thrived in an already existing one. Title goes to Dre.

Mo'MoneyAce the reason for that is because Dre started as an artist. So I actually think that's an argument for Dre. He started with roots as an artist not an intern. And Damon Dash and Roca a Fella gets the credit for Jay Z. In fact Jay Z pretty much gets his own credit for that one. Diddy didn't sign and/or mentor Jay Z. If we are appraching it from that angle, Dre is responsible for California Love, the song that made 2Pac a household name and is his most recognizable song.

Why? People are so fucking brainwashed, that t’s actually become disgusting. 90% of people that have said “diddy is trash” in the comments, don’t have any reason. They are saying it because it’s popular. Diddy is fucking talented, he may seem like a dick sometimes, but it doesn’t take his skill away from him. It’s like the Eminem and MGK shit. Just because Eminem has made bigger moves in his career he’s the popular one. He is unanimously loved. Mgk is skilled, not quite like Em, but he don’t deserve the shit put on him (although he is still trying to keep the beef relevant).
Basically what I am saying is that people don’t think for themselves, and exaggerate the hate towards the underdog, so they can feel like they actually fit in. Just fucking retarded.

    I mean this is easy:
In terms of big artists Dr. Dre has Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, The Game, Xzibit and so on. Diddy had Biggie,
    Biggie has a Diamond album, a 4x Platinum, a 2x Platinum and a Platinum album [2 posthumous]
Eminem has 2 diamond albums a 7x platinum a 5x platinum 3 4x platinum a 3x platinum 2 2x platinum 2 platinum 2 gold, and if you include video albums you can add a 6x platinum 2 platinums and another gold.
    Dr. Dre has a 6x platinum, a 3x platinum, a platinum and 2 gold
Snoop Dogg has a 4x platinum 4 2x platinum, another 3 platinum and 4 gold, [6x platinum if you include up in smoke]
50 Cent [he only released 5 albums with them but still has a 6x platinum a 5x platinum a platinum and 2 gold
Kendrick Lamar has a 2x platinum [which is still going up] and 2 platinums
i mean biggie is good but theres only so much he can do ._.

This Murs of a guy, makes the Legend Dr Dre looks like some one who doesn't know anything about beat making, mixing, dejaying and has never produced a beat or song by himself. What I learned from this video is the fact that the presenter did not do his research well and gave a half baked info on Dr. Dre production, imagine him saying that Scott Torch produced still dre. Don't delve into topics that you know little or nothing about, because Dr Dre is the producers best music producers, Puffy acknowledged this to. Eminem,50 cent,2pac etc had worked with other music producers before they met Dr Dre, but the song he produced for them is timeless. That's the difference.
