Watching you paint sparks the urge in me to do so. Its been years since I picked up my brush and I love how instructive and informative you are when painting. I especially love how you take time and tell us the material you're using and explaining what they do and how to best go on about it. It answers some much needed questions I have and honestly, just a treat to watch.

Hello Marianne, this sketchbook is so special! Like poetry:) I love it. It's certainly nice when you take it off the shelf and see what you've already conjured up in it. Magic! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work. Have a nice day. Gabi from Germany:))

I thought that was hilarious when you talked about keeping the painting loose. If that is loose I'd be interested in your uptight version 😂 you are an ABSOLUTE WIZARD!! Gorgeous 😍

So lovely. I can smell them. I might take a break from the peonies, and try this-perhaps just a small bit of it. Thank you so much for your videos!

I did a lilac painting recently, trying out a new style. This video reminds me of the lily of the valley I painted following your journal painting last year, which I followed with one of hollyhocks, which I never fully finished. I wanted to do a third to hang together in my home, and I think the lilacs are a great idea! So thanks for the inspiration to finish these!

Thanks for the tutorial and very nice. Question: can I use Drawing Paper for dry media for acrylic paintings? and do you add some water into the acrylic when painting on the paper? Thanks for the help.

Hi! So it depends on the weight of your paper...you'll want something that's fairly heavy so it doesn't buckle under the weight of the acrylic. I usually only use medium and barely any water when I'm painting with acrylic, otherwise the water can break the polymers of the paint and make it streaky or beady. But if you're wanting to test out a paper to see how well you can paint on it, just try doing a light wash on a sheet and see how it goes! Good luck!

I have been using "Blue RIDGE MT" oil paints. seems a number of well known artist like the paints. better than some of the old masters. I just started, some artist list colors hard to get ,a,quinacridone majenta, they like the cremnite white to give winter scenery that more misty look with a bit of yellow to get a glow, of light . I have not tried to paint a winter scenery yet. may do it when I do some Canadian Geese., or crossbills. They use this white instead of titanium , because titanium can be a bit too bright I love lilacs Miss Kim Japanese smaller in size. and blooms later, but think it has a stronger lingering on the air smell , Did find in North USA , WI it is susceptible to disease/ insect.I made mistake too dark when using Acrylic. instead of oil. but found I could use "DOLLAR TREE" stain remover, for rugs, and material. GREAT for a $1.25 . However did not try with oil, except to get OIL spells while cooking and WORKS wonders, no lightening of the material , and stain came out,. I am a detail person. To do the birds, and animals strange find easier to do , but the detail on flowers and their leaves takes longer. Maybe because each leaf is different and due to light and shadow. colors change ENJOYED your Tutorial.
