Cloud and the others fight their way to the control panel for Sector 7's Pillar, where their attempts are halted by Rude and Reno who activate the protocol for separating the Plate. Seeing Aerith with Shinra, Cloud informs Elmyra of what has happened, and for Barrett to reunite with Marlene. Hearing that Aerith is an Ancient, he sets out to rescue her from Shinra.
