Unfortunately there are Pro EU people within parliament and the civil service who are acting like 5th columnists by trying to disrupt anything that they feel could benefit the UK against the EU.
There are no benefits of Brexit to be talked down.
@Chris Town because little has been implemented
@@corywheeldon1538 “little has been implemented” what a pile of garbage! We have left the very basis of what the EU fundamentally is….which is a trading block….the biggest trading block in the world for that matter! We are no longer in the single market and customs union, we no longer pay in or receive subsidies, there is no longer freedom of movement for EU countries to the UK or for people of the UK in the EU other than a limited period.
The illegal immigration issue is a separate matter, as is membership of the ECHR, of which these issues for people like Farage are a great distraction from the fact that Brexit is a complete failure born out of unfounded nationalistic arrogance and pretty much a propensity of everyone involved to just…wing it!
@Blue Dog firstly, of course you'd think nationalism is bad. Secondly, the eu is more of a political organisation now, and it's very obvious. As for free movement, having pretty much an open border for anybody from eu countries to come to is just awful. It's not good for national security at all, but of course, you couldn't care. Also, we still get to trade with the eu. it's not like that's completely gone out the window. If the idea of brexit is bad, people wouldn't have voted for it. Now we all know you never wanted brexit and can't get over not getting what you want, so you are therefore looking for reasons to say you was right and everybody else was wrong. I assume you believe everything that goes wrong is brexits fault
@Blue Dog tell me something that has been implemented from brexit go on. Brexit allows us to make our own decisions. It's not brexits' fault If the politicians decide not to even attempt that
On the subject of kids to University - I'm an Aussie tuning-in to this and have seen with my own eyes the realisation that 'going to University' is not all that it's cracked up to be.
Living where I do, on the East Coast in a small rural town, I have seen with my own house renovation, trades people that I once coached in sport. They made the decision not to shift away to the cities and attend Uni, and instead learn a trade.
The result is that they are extremely well paid, have far less issues with housing and live a much more relaxed & comfortable lifestyle surrounded by nature.
Some time ago, the Universities became much like the hotels that Nigel spoke about. It became all about the money. This lead to chasing the students. Next came the lowering of standards. And of course the inevitable totally useless, not worth the paper it's written on, degrees and post graduate degrees. Much of which is aided and abetted by the tax payer.
Well said mate, I'm a recently retired science teacher in England.
The standard of education here's diabolical.
Everyone gets a prise or a balloon for coming last.
As for university standards, don't make me laugh. Oxford and Cambridge used to be the best in the world, now they're an international joke.
@@Peter-uy3ti It was all an Aussie plot to bring you down to our standard.
@@Peter-uy3ti how are Oxford and Cambridge an international joke? They are still ranked incredibly highly often in the top 5 of world universities (depending on the ranking you choose, Oxford is top). I'm curious how you came to your conclusion.
Whilst the essence of what you say is true, you have simplified it massively.
I'm part of that generation, sold the university dream. It certainly isn't all its cracked up to be and this government do treat universities like businesses and as such they have to treat students more like customers. Thats exactly how this govt see all of us, customers. A wallet they can open. The university experience is costly and often, people will get jobs totally outside their area of study (but that has always been the case with university).
It's not as simple because sending so many kids off to uni every year has been a way of reducing unemployment. Also, a highly educated workforce is more creative and able to look at problems in different ways. The debt is also not all its cracked up to be. It doesn't appear on your credit score, you don't pay it off until you earn over so much a year and it gets written off after 20 years now.
Millenials are also, as a result of govt policy, the most highly educated generation in British history and I think an interesting result of this is that millenials have yet to start the traditional slide into conservatism as we grow older. Polls show they are still unpopular with my generation. Thats not really relevant but I think it's a happy by product 🙂. My point is, if you treat educstion like a business, students like customers, this is what you get, but it still offers a very valuable experience not just in academic education but also life skills education. Young people who go have to set up cou Council tax bills and Internet contracts and do their own food shopping. It's part of thr learning curve.
@@JP-je6jg Millennials are highly indoctrinated with leftist ideology by university education.. fixed it for you.
Stop paying taxes for gov to waste on accommodating migrants
"positive net fiscal impact indicates that that migrants pay more into public finances than they take out" this is a quote from oxford university so they do pay for themselves and slightly more actually
You've been played for a mug while Sunak has a heated swimming pool IN-HOUSE.

And dont forget the worldwide food shortage is brexits fault as well. After all, we no longer have fruit pickers and lots of fruit has spoiled as a result. Yes, I have literally heard this as a genuine argument from a remoaner.
Greedy farming corporations (not small local farms) have spent years establishing a business model whereby fruit picking jobs are specifically recruited abroad, pay ira its and insist they live onsite in caravans, paying ‘rent’ from their salaries. No local Brits can compete with that financially. During the pandemic lots of people I know applied to pick fruit and veg and were told ‘no vacancies’ or that they had to live onsite when they already have a house in the UK and then get told Brits are ‘too lazy’ to work. Personally I’d get prisoners doing it to earn their keep rather than flying in yet more Romanians who abscond once they’re here and never leave.
