Thanks so much for giving us a behind the scenes look at your process and awesome production skills. So grateful for the time with you and for being so willing to share everything with our community here!
🙌🏽🥳 @KSHMRmusic Thank YOU for your time, for being so giving and amazing as a producer, teacher and friend! It was truly a very special day for Sanjay and I! We love you and are sooo excited to share more of you and your talents to our audience (we all can’t get enough!) and see you DJ LIVE! 🎶🥳
When i will became famous i will make a song with you ,master KSHMR
@@Aclipsiya definitely you can ♥️♥️

KSHMR hasn't changed, still as technical as ever. Genius.
Yeah, I love that...and he shares all of his techniques with everyone
Awesome ❤
Hello .This is Vivek Mervin - Music composers and producers from Chennai ,India.
Great to see a breakdown video from the genius KSHMR.
We love the sounds he creates !!
Nothing compares to Lessons of KSHMR 🙏
KSHMR is so talented. Thanks for giving us insight into how he puts together those hit songs! ❤
You're welcome. Yes, he is awesome! So glad you enjoyed it!
So I too use Fivver and have been for a while. In fact, when I did Sanddunes and Shorelines and the track "Midnight", I tried doing my own sax solo, but I did not like the results either with the sound or my keyboard performance of said sax. So I went to Fivver, found a saxophonist who could realise what I had in mind, worked out a deal, got the results and was incredibly pleased. So yes, there is something to be said about working with actual musicians when the need for it arises.
He does have a point about delay leaning to the right sounding "more natural". I think it has to do with how you perceive sound in a space (and delay is a spatial effect).
More of KSHMR? Keep em coming!!
Yeah, I can't get enough either! Let me know what you think of this video
🎉🥳🔥🔥 coming up!
It's nice to get to know KSHMR, he is a very warm-hearted person. Always great to watch.
That was so great to see how a pro actually is working!
Lately, I've been starting with the melody. For many years, I started with drums to get a feel for the tone.
There are 2 people that could draw you in with just a drum beat and bassline. Phil Collins, and Michael Jackson. You know their songs before they even sing.
Thanks, KSHMR for showing us your workflow! So cool.
Really does sound like a Italian Gangster song from a movie, Good video idea Sanjay.
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@SanjayC Definitely did, and KSHMR tune was really good, the vocal of Karam sounds really good, despite not being in english.
Yes more how to produce beats episodes !
Yup! And a freebie from KSHMR is coming too!
1000th Viewer 😅 , KSHMR Is One Of My Inspiration When I Started Making Music Specially In EDM Era. Thanks For Sharing This Sanjay Sir 😇
🎉🎉🎉
This is just so cool to see his process. Thanks to both of you for making this video. ✨
🙏🏽💕 Thanks for watching! It was soo cool to watch him go through it!
Its always soooo interesting to see how an artist works.
Yeah, I think so too!
His creative process is so stimulating, and I love the sound design!
Love the way KSHMR used mod and velocity to control sound of the flute which made it sound so organic
Not gonna lie, that language (Hindi I suppose) has some serious bouncy flow. Interesting vid all together. Thanks for letting us be a witness to the process.
❤️🔥🎶🎉 Yes Hindi! It’s a very poetic language and has its own cadence when speaking! Definitely makes great songs!
I would love to see more videos like this on your channel. This one as well as the previous, interview with him, really can show viewers why they are making music and how they can approach their work. Videos about gear are useful but seeing someone using their gear in their own way can also be very helpful.
🙌🏽🙏🏽 absolutely!!! The more time we can make, the more we want to do these types of meetings and videos we’ve wanted to for so long! This may be the year!🎉
GOAT OF EDM KSHMR 🫶🏻🫶🏻
And now Hip Hop too!
@@SanjayC 🫶🏻🫶🏻
KSHMR kept it so real. He showed the way true genius works. For once I have to say I wasn’t intimidated by expensive gear. I know of some Producers in their interviews who are surrounded by millions of dollars of gear and their music sounds like crap.
"Its not the tools, its the fool. Its not the gear its the ears"
Loved the tips and knowledge shared here. Thank you guys for this video!
Thanks Sanjay for making these videos❤
You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoy them!
Priceless! What a treat and perfectly timed for the holidays! This is a video I will be watching over and over again. Thank you @KSHMR and @SanjayC! Happy Holidays!
❤❤❤❤ thank you for this Christmas gift
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
😂🎁🎁🎁🎶
Great video. I love how he makes use of automation to get the realistic sounds!
Its really nice... The detailing of Guitars Harmonics, Pipes, choir mix, Automation all that stuff. Really thanks for the effort you guys are putting towards music.
Wow, so many useful tips -the macros are brilliant. Great video
Wow so many cool tips in here!!! Thanks!!! ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
very beautiful song
Such a good idea with the macros...I jumped straight into Ableton to set that up. Much love from Ireland!
I'm just learning Ableton Live and I'm also interested in learning how to make macros like these - especially the one that allows for fine/large grain control of volume. Are there any useful tutorials out there? I've tried Google searching but perhaps I'm not using the right search terms (tried combinations of macro, effects rack, effects, etc.).
I listened to the song itself and it sounds dope! Looking forward to working with KSHMR in the future. Hopefully I get the chance.
Using shelfs on organic sounds instead of filters makes so much sense.
Sounds amazing.
So much knowledge in just one video, thank you!
Oh damn, easy to say my fave info was really realizing the details of transitioning from dance music to hip hop, letting kick and 808 step well in front of the melody.
This is amazing ... been following his work for a while. I love how he brings together the ideas from various places, various inspirations, and also that he will do anything to pull a sing together. His success is because he thinks outside of the box, for example, hiring people on Fivver. He's focused on the goal of seeing something come to fruition and that's awesome. Also, his humbleness and shout out to the artists, Fivver singers, co-producers, etc. is a true example of how you want to see someone you admire act. Thanks Kshmr for letting us visit along with Sanjay and Dharti!
Legend. Thanks for hooking up with him here, San!
Gives great insight to experimentation in creating hits
The volume automation on the vocal just BLEW my mind.
Honestly, his harmony is on point, the whole tracks just flows really well with each other and just overall really viby. Props to him :)
I like it, simple explained and everything is done with feeling.😎
Been following you for almost 4 years 🥳 always appreciate a video from a producing pov. love from İstanbul 🥰
I found his approach of clipping the 808 very interesting. I’m definitely going to try that on my next track
Very nice. Thank you!!!
His use of macros and automation for modulation is rich with good ideas. Good technique for creating a more organic feel. Very cool. Thanks!
The way he spends a lot of time, automating minute details and expression in every individual tracks makes the entire song so beautiful. Great inspiration from a great Sculptor. 🙌
Another great video from Sanjay! Keep them coming!! Also I learnt that clipping from the 808's isn't a bad thing as it can help 808's punch through in the mix. (I always made sure my 808's weren't clipping in my track but this has helped me see a different perspective.)
Great video!
Nice use of the butch vig and rc-20. Good results there.
Guitar sounds awesome . Will definitely try it .
My fav song from the album❤❤❤
That was awesome! KSHMR seems like such a genuine person. What I loved the most was his tips on how to automate his virtual instruments to make them sound more organic. Great video... Thanks :)
The Laser move was pretty neat.
I learned a lot from their workflow when it came to using samples and making decisions very quickly.
Sanjaaaay✨✨
Outstanding look at an artist's process and execution. Think the discussion about giving the bass space as opposed to what happens in other genres where the dynamics can be squished was outstanding.
I really enjoyed this video. His imagination and how he was able to express himself as well as his uses of abstract instruments was brilliant. It was just a great video that I had to watch it twice💜💜
What a talented and humble guy, giving credit to all his collaborators instead of basking in praise. Thanks for the technical and artistic lesson. Fantastic stuff!
Super Dope Sir 💝
🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
Noice!!😇
First comment of the day! What do you think of the beat he made?
@@SanjayC Its really so cool! Adds to the vibee!👌
Many interesting advices here.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is super inspiring. I like this guy
These guys are the genius Mf, kshmr everyone one knows is a living legend. Hail kshmr❤❤
I love this bhts content 😍
This is an excellent informative video for dynamic, EQ and reverb. KSHMR, I am going to try your vocal chain. I just need a couple more of the plugins.
Wow-this guy offers a full master class in an hour. What a talent. I really wish to meet you one day KSHMR. You have grown up in America but how you have included pieces of Indian taste to the song is extraordinary. Lastly, your calm, calculated and humble character is beyond words. Much love. Thanks to you Sanjay & your wife for offering this experience.
Fantastic. Laser what a good vst
Great tip on about the mix how the drums need to be more in front for hip hop and letting the 808 clip slightly instead of compressing it.
Great, fiver , good shout !
Wow, what a class we had here…I’m not a very advanced level on producing, so automating parameters to get a more organic sound was a big lesson for me, definitely I’m going to start doing this in my productions 👏🏼💪🏼🙏🏼
Great content as usual, and that song is FIRE!! I can't believe I never thought of using Fiver for vocals! I've hired people for design and other things but it never occurred to me to look for vocalist. Thanks for the tip.
Thank you Sanjay C & KSHMR for the informative video. I appreciate that no plugin will ever be perfect & complete ... I need to improve my animation game essentially. Thanks!
This was awesome!! Thanks Sanjay c and kshmr for this amazing insight into how it was made.
Automating those different parameters of instruments like that flute was sick and ima have to try that out!
Thanks guys 🔥🔥🔥
A professional musician gives me so many tips here and gives a very good insight into his work. GAD. 👍🏻
I'm really impressed how KSHMR makes instruments sound very natural using automations, really cool feature!
This is quite a amazing video. Thanks KSHMR, SanjayC and Dharty. Really surprise by the virtual instrument. And your sens of spatialisation is amazing
song clip is incredible. I need more on my playlist. Great segment SanjayC
kshmr is so talented he is my favourite producer
Finally a music related video and not another influencer run of the mill weekly stuff.
This video helped me learn to produce Hip Hop track like KSHMR
So impressive
Did not know we can define ranges for macros, imma make an utility like that for automation, quite handy. River vocals and instruments is also a great ideia
I always wondered how would be workflow & thought process of KSHMR. So glad is on the internet today.. Thank you Sanjay ❤
I learned about applying expression on virtual instruments. KSHMR is a badass!
Awesome video as always Sanjay 😊
Thank you so much 😀. Credit to KSHMR of course!
I really come from the old school where all you needed was kick, snare, high hat, and clap. It was about the syncopation of the lyrics. I could never afford to have the 80’s equipment, but now I can get EVERY SOUND on my computer and iPad. Watching videos like this make me feel that things have gotten too complicated. I still have fun making stuff on a DAW, but my 30 year old kids are not feeling my style at all… LOL! For context, I was born 1968 Oakland, CA.
❤️🔥🎶@KSHMR and @SanjayC This was sooo amazing being there. I can’t even describe how excited we were to hear this song for the first time- in KSHMR’s studio! ❤️🔥🔥 like what?! And then for him to give us this breakdown🙌🏽🙏🏽💕 I love the entire Album! It's been playing nonstop at home and everywhere we go! But this song is special since we got to hear it first!
@loststories @harjasharjaayi
PUNA wow WOW !!!!🔥🔥🔥🎶
Yes, truly amazing to be in his studio seeing how he makes music!
I love having the harmonies come out of different positions at 14:22 ❤
KSHMR one of the greats of time.
I like that KSHMR,s big macros and small macros nob patch he is just a genius 🌺
Great class ! 💥 I'm a Lo-Fi music producer from India. Learned useful processing techniques from this video. Want more videos like this . 😊 Happy Holidays 🎄
Happy holidays!
Can we have a collab ?
letsgooo
Yes! What do you think?
I love how KSHMR makes tools pretty much on the fly. Whether it's a filter or macro, I can see it making the workflow more productive. That way, he doesn't have to continue to remake it later. The more I listen, I more I understand about having a good ear. I know he comes from India, but ithas a Latin flavor to it as well.
THANKS BROO ... LOVE FROM INDIA
I was planning to produce some hiphop and trap beats. This video helped me a lot thanks Sanjay C for the video. I am buying swam asap 😅
What a God 🫡
Not exactly something new, but as KSHMR mentions, I am also the type of guy to just open up Kontakt and dive into a new sample library to get a job done, instead of getting another artist to do it for me. Heck, I have musician friends who'd do it in a heartbeat. This just gave me a wake up call to start doing that more instead of reaching for something virtual.
Edit: Using a shelf instead of a vocal is interesting. Gotta give THAT a try.
