Good video, I have this lens and and think you hit the nail on the head when you said it was fun lens to use. People get too hung up on Leica branded lenses offering some magic, and to be fair for the price you would expect so! This and the Voigtlander 35mm 1.4 are two of the best value and performing lenses outside the red dot factory IMHO. Enjoy those north Cornish vistas, down in Watergate Bay again soon myself and hoping for some dramatic weather.
picked up the 28mm F2 to compliment my old v3 50mm Summicron on my M10. Couldn't justify the cost of a 28mm Summicron, and for what i use this camera for, I think i'll be happy with it.
Sure, I'll watch it again :-) Love my Voigtländer lenses. Just picked up a 75mm F1.8 Heliar on a second hand black Friday sale (very topical for this video, hehe). Super happy with it so far. It has that magic combo of soft, smooth bokeh, "3d" pop and very good sharpness that you'll get in a pre-apo Summicron. Voigtländer are really on a roll these days!
Honestly I’d rather the Elmarit or preferably the Summicron as I would happily deal with the size and weight because the quality of the images it produces are outstanding
Great and informative video. BUT could you show the lense itself more? You gave us a glimpse at the beginning and at the end where you were giving us your conclusion, you were holding the cam with the lense attached but we could hardly see it. Why don't you show us only how ur holding the cam with the focus on the lens. Nothing against your gorgeous face but it would have been much more intresting if you only pointed on the lens while you were talking, to see the lense from various angles. Nevertheless thanks for the well made video! I gave it a thumbs up and subscribed in hope to see in your future videos the focus (no pun etc...) literally on the object you are talking about. You still have massive opportunities during the video to delighten us with your good looks and charme ;-) (Don't take it too serious, just show more what you are actually talking about how big, what length, weight, diameter etc - those are just suggestions, you already gave some facts but the more the better. Anyway this is only meant as constrictive critsism, nothing personal and only to help : ) Wish you good health and much success! )
Apologies for the re-upload, an 'h' might have snuck its way into the word Voigtländer...
Thank you for the video. How’s the sharpness? F2?

Are you able to see the 28mm frame lines wearing your glasses?
Ha, no
Sure, I'll watch it again :-)

I wonder how this performs for Milky way? it's light and perfect for my Sony A7rII and tracker setup.
Re-upload? Cool, guess I'll watch it again
It's the same video but I couldn't fix the spelling error in the intro without a re-upload
Love your videos man! May I ask what strap you use? Thanks
A brown leather one with key-ring style loops to attach it to the camera.
How did you rated Tri-X ? 200 then developped at 800 ? Thanks
It turns out it was Hp5! I metered at 320 off the back of my hand for most of it
@@JonathanNotley Thank you for your answer. Great content as usual.

Why not a Zeiss ? I have a Leitz 35f/2 and 90f/2 then I bought a Zeiss 50f/2 brand new and Im happy with it :-)

Hey man, hope you’re doing fine during these awful times, we’re waiting for a new vid!
Looks like a great little lens,
and the results were absolute fabulous..

Why the re-upload?
Spelling error in the title - Voigtlander was spelt with an ‘h’
honestly if you get a good scan from this lens you cant tell the difference
Now.
