Thanks for watching! Do you also like using the instrument rack for having more options with your synth sounds? Note that I'm moving away from Skillshare. You can find my classes here now: bit.ly/419IDQG 45 Useful Ableton Synths: bit.ly/3MWn7KO
the YT algorythm finally showed me your videos. So I hope your channel will grow a lot :-) I watched a few of your videos and your explanations and use of instrument racks have cured my ableton fatigue. Instead of being an overwhelming sequencer Ableton is now much more of an enjoyable instrument to play around with.
hi Jannis i appreciate your ideas and chennel i always found the chain selector a bit tricky but i will try to fet the hang of it to use regularly thanks for the reminder. your patches are great - reminds me of kraftwerk!
Hi Henry, thanks a lot for the warm words! I think it's good to know how it works so you can think of it in this one moment where it would make sense- like mixing between 2 sounds and varying the balance between them. Mhm, Kraftwerk, thank you 🤗
In the Instrument Rack I can switch from one instrument to another using a MIDI controller or computer keyboard. I am controlling the parameters of my instruments that are inside the Instrument Rack using a controller. Each instrument has its own parameters. To switch from one instrument to another, in the Instrument Rack, I also use a MIDI controller, but when I switch instruments, in order to control the parameters of the respective instrument to which I switched, I have to click (inside the Instrument Rack) with the mouse on the instrument I am using, so that I can “activate” it, and thus be able to control its respective parameters. Is there a way to do this operation of switching instruments, and at the same time keep it “activated”, without using the mouse?
Sounds like you have a mapping that says "control selected device". In your scenario it might help to have a mapping that controls device 2, so you don't have to click on it. But you need to change the control script in order to do that, which is a bit tricky. I have a video about a software called "Control Surface Studio", it might help you further!
I’m having trouble with Instrument Rack automation. Everytime I save one and import it again, the automation in the rack is gone. What am I doing wrong?

@@JannisLeWolffthank You.
Hello, can i add vsts in instrument rack?
Yes, you can add any plugins you like, no matter if stock or third party.
I’m having trouble with Instrument Rack automation. Everytime I save one and import it again, the automation in the rack is gone. What am I doing wrong?
hmm... but do you see the little dot icon next to the parameters? Sometimes it gets greyed out which means the automation is bypassed.
yo
🙂
I’m just realizing this function to stack instruments must not be available in intro…
