Hi guys, I would recommend fitting Solidfy rear internal door bolt, security chain for the side door, Camper Project from Germany have a good one, both can easily be opened in an emergency. For the cab doors internally a lot of people either fit internal cab door locks or have a rachet strap across and around both door handles at night and you can also fit an external Pro plate to the driver's door handle to stop the central locking being picked which is easy on a Ducato. Cheers K.
Sadly certain people will try every door handle as they walk down the road, sooner or later one will be left unlocked. Glad your both ok and didn't loose anything.
When my van is on the drive, it’s reversed up to the drive rather than the rear doors facing the road. It’s an opportunity removed for chancers and also makes it more difficult for someone that fancies their chances of wrenching the doors open.
We were broken in also. Look under the rubber around the handle he will have pierced the door skin and opened the lock with a screwdriver suggest a plate over the damage. They are available from Garrison Locks. Hope you are all ok and wish you well.
For your diesel heater, I would suggest you keep the hot end away from your batteries as much as possible. Obviously, you don't want your batteries getting anywhere near freezing point, but at the same time you don't want them getting hot. I would aim to keep them omewhere between 5 and 20 degrees c. The hot air from your diesel heater will be hotter than 50 degrees c, which would not be good for your battery.
That's not good at all for you two. I love watching your adventures, I'm not a van life person nor do I think I ever will be. But coming across your channel by accident, I've become hooked on following your journey. You have become my guilty pleasure so to speak🤔🤭🤣🤣. Massive respect on what your trying to achieve. ❤️❤️ Really respect
My van has slam locks which are like those yale locks fronts doors have so can only be opened with additional key and auto lock when closed. Great for not forgetting to do it manually but night mare if you leave the key in the van which ive done twice now 😅
Hi From Ireland Guys there's a bracket you can get (2 actually) which bolts onto the inside top brackets on rear door..and you put a pin through both brackets. Rear door can't be opened from outside..no matter what.. In our Boxer campervan I also fitted a very loud siren..under rear bumper(amazon. About £5)..and have a push button beside out fixed rear bed..a kind of panic alarm..should we heard any scumbags in the night..buy some time..and hopefully scare them off.. Hope helps ..Ian&Dee
Check for holes at the bottom of your rear door handle. There is a design flaw with the drivers door and I think the rear door where you can push a screwdriver in and open the lock. You can buy a metal plate that protects against it. I have fitted one to my van. Fairly easy to fit.
I had my door crowbarred and hammered open at 2 am while i was in it. A powerful beam projector is required and bars across the door. Welcome to vanlife!- i did 6 years full-time 10 yrs ago, parking up in laybys and carparks, draws attention of roaming thieves.
Just come across your channel and subscribed so will watch your other adventures 😊 We have a VW campervan and when we first got the van we locked the door pressing the inside lock button and quickly discovered that this only locks the front 2 doors 🙈 if you use your key fob and press to lock it once then leave a slight pause and press lock again this fully locks the van from intruders outside and you can feel safe inside. Give it a go with your van and I hope it works 👍😊
Hey guys nice to meet you both, just found your channel & subbed those pesky vermin’s ! Not what you want at 4am lol. I’m sure the Diesel heater fits perfectly under the drivers seat if your looking to hide it away
Check the back handle. Its easy to force the central locking on the back and drivers door by forcing a screwdriver into the space beneath the handle. If there is a slight hole/dent below the door handle plastic and the metal this might be tried. Search for prick stop for some german video’s regarding this issue. Common for ducato jumper and relay
UK car crime has become worse over the past years. My city was a few years ago almost crime free but during the last year I have had my van and car vandalised. My friends car has also been vandalised in a different part of the city.

That dude wasn't there to rob anybody he was looking for 1 person not 2 hopefully everyone sees this so they can lock their vans. Thanks for sharing yikes
You caught the burglar's face on video. Did you turn it into the police? Why wouldn't you post his face all over social media, why pixelize it? Who knows how many cars he's burglarized or if he's attacked women. I would have followed him in my car & tried to catch him. I'm getting all worked up now. lol
I wish I caught him on camera but I was asleep which is why we recreated what happened to help explain. Unfortunately I was disoriented and naked after he woke me up, so I was more concerned with protecting myself. Joe
@@JodieandJoe Ok, so the pixilated face wasn't him, gotcha. I thought it was, sorry my bad. I get it, it's just after watching ur video, I vicariously experienced it & it really aggravated me. lol I was robbed before & after giving him my my money, as he walked away laughing, I snapped & chased him beating the shh out of him. Getting my money back & $200 of his money. lol So, I apologize, going through that is daunting no doubt. Thanks for sharing & responding. For what it's worth u got another sub. ;)
why oh why do van life people never ever put 2 bolts inside the van doors . so u have normal locking on van plus bolts on doors inside . omg what baby novice mistake .
Idea. Take a recording of guard dog growling ect with a loud bark. Reg it to your speakers. That's what I did it worked. IT WORKED ALWAYS 😂🤣🐶🔊. HAPPY CAMPING. 🏕️🤗

Double lock your van from the inside. That's how I keep my van safe , the doors get locked from the inside for extra safety.

Great team work. Glad the burglar didn’t cause any problems, deadbolt is a good solution. Subscribed.

Love the film making and story you guys tell in every video… looking forward to watching the install of the Chinese diesel heater 😁🤞🏼

Perfect idea were thinking of pressing the horn but this is much better! Thanks
Scary stuff, good job you woke up!
Love the banter you two have between each other. Great video
I think you scared him more than he scared you lol
The rear door on these vans can be opened with a simple screw driver - I see it loads at work - id get a dead lock

Thanks for the tip Denise!
I'm going to fit the solidfy rear door security lock from amazon to my van, seems a popular way of increasing security
Great idea! We're adding more security!
Fit a lock to the inside of your back doors. Take care

Luckily he looked scared as you both 😅
Also they can copy the signal being emitted from the fob,,
Hasp and staple on the inside with dog lead clip or bolt so easy exit in case of emergency not the prettiest but cheap.and effective
Good idea
You guys, the videos are too short 😊❤️
Will be aiming to make longer ones!

And a traditional welcome stick
There are so many burglars in England. Fortunately, it's not the same thing in France...🤔🙄😁
Especially car theft around London. It seems much safer in France so far

Awful isn't it!
Bend a piece of wire around the wheel arch 🙂
Genius!
Do you also hear a decent hum when you turn on the MultiPlus? Guess you turn it OFF at night?
Yeah the multiplus definitely hums, that's why we have a 12v TV and lights so we can turn it off at night

We can reach it from above so we go over the mattress
