I was SO impressed with how well-spoken he is. Every word, like his drum notes, is intentional. No UMs, AH, etc.
It was cool to see in this interview that he is actually playing all of the electronic drum parts and trip hop beats and effects. It sounded like it was being played and not programmed on the album and it's cool to see that confirmed

Always love a good drum video. II is a monster, he has a unique way of playing very busy, yet not over doing it like you said, he makes it fit and enhance the experience.

If you pay attention real close you'll see that II has a habit of spinning the cymbal on his left side. It's crazy to see him do it since he does it so fast and random.

I cant believe Drumeo did a whole hour with II and didnt discuss his snare sound or anything much to do with his thoughts on his kit design and set-up.
Edit: Also, I much prefer this look to the newer one. It was so much more their own.

When it comes to drumming though a ton of dudes and gals can play up to 11. No one doing anything better than this guy.

Gotta see Mario Duplantiers drum solos! It’s the only videos he has on his RUclips channel. Each are short but insanely intricate and groovy. Dude basically invented his own blast beat in one of them. Worth a watch for sure.
love II, hate the drumeo cuts.. too busy and take away from his genius. Give me overhead with a foot shot pic in pic, side shots for fills and hihat/pad work only. II is the GOD squid of music, his limbs just strike out at cymbals and heads to make art
