- Gene Simmons reveals that he asked both Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, again, if they would like to be apart of KISS' End of the Road Tour, which really seems to be the bands final tour. In this video we go over what Gene said in his latest interview with Rolling Stone and briefly mention the sticking points that is likely holding Ace and Peter back from participating.

I just watched a video where Ace says that Gene and Paul keep saying that Ace and Peter keep declining offers to play, but according to Ace, they haven't been asked at all.
If I were Ace or Peter there would be no way in hell I'd be playing next to someone with my makeup on pretending to be me. I've been a KISS fan since I was 9 or 10 years old. Opening presents on Christmas morning and getting Destroyer and Alive changed my life forever. Throughout Kisstory a few things happened that I did not like. How Ace and Peter were and are treated. How Eric Carr was treated also. The final straw was putting Ace and Peter's makeup on other people. Nothing against Tommy or Eric because we know who's calling the shots. Whenever Kiss was in makeup any new member got their own persona. Eric Carr and Vinny Vincent both did. I don't blame Ace and Peter for saying no. That would be insulting and humiliating.

Peter sold his rights to the make up. Ace was smart enough to do it thru the lawyers where he still owned the rights and gets paid for the spaceman design . They both got paid! When should it end ?

Ace and Peter get criticized because they’re making it about the money… That’s exactly what the entire three-year kiss end of the road tour was about. If ace and Peter joined them for a few songs, they would sell out 10 shows in New York.
Ace and Peter were an Integral part of the formation of the Original line up If It was not for Ace and Peter NOTHING Would have come forward.

I would like to see Ace Frehley and Peter Criss in the makeup one more time. They are like family and dear old friends to us fans. Having said that I have immense respect and love for Gene and Paul for keeping it going. I wish that in these trying times of hate and division in the world that our heroes in Kiss could find common ground to reconcile for one last time for one last appearance to show the world that peace is the way.

If Paul and Gene wanted it to happen and really cared, they would MAKE IT HAPPEN! If they said Ace and Peter could come on stage in full costume and make up on for two songs right at the end of the show , then then the entire band share the stage & play the last song of the night the fans would love it, and the circle is closed on a positive note. Even if Peter and Ace get a big payday for just three songs , think off the extra cash Gene and Paul make from the subsequent DVD, CD and merch sales with the original line up on stage for the final time. Seems like a small price to pay for creating Kisstory 💰💲🎸
It's about money for Gene. He wanted them to do an encore of two songs. That's it. Ace and Paul deserve a whole show. Two or three songs GTFO.
Agreed, him and Paul are worth over 200 million apiece. For God's sake, just throw in a couple hundred thousand and end Kiss the right way. Have some respect for your fans from the 70's that broke you in the first place.

I've been a fan since 1976, I got my reunion back in 1996, and said my farewell in 2000. But I share the same view as Gene does, which is the fact that YES, Ace and Peter were an integral part of the band's beginnings, and without their part in the band, KISS wouldn't be here, but if they had stayed, KISS wouldn't be here 20+ years later either. The original four had their time together, but it didn't last because of bad choices being made. they came back and they were gone again in a flash. weather it was because of money, or because of Gene and Paul, or even the makeup, they were gone again, never to return. I love vintage KISS with the original four, and beyond thankful for being around for that entire era to experience it. but that was definitely then, and the way it used to be. I'm just thankful to still be enjoying KISS for all these years!

I enjoyed nearly anybody in the Brand *KISS* and it would bring me to Tears if Ace & Peter enter the Stage for one last Song but... I think it will be a Dream until that Show (12/02/2023) is finished ... We'll see

Gene and Paul blew it, when Ace requested to play, using his original make up....which they both nixxed on!
I think the makeup is a big sticking point with Ace and Peter, not so much the money for just a few shows. They created those faces even though they don't own the rights. If Gene were smart I could see them maybe doing a separate shorter show for just the original lineup, like the Brooklyn Bridge show they did in 96'.

In Gene’s defense, I also much prefer the original line up even if their live playing is far from perfect but Peter and Ace are two lazy bums.
Ace has said he would do it but at $250K per show. That means you have to give Peter the same amount. So $1M to have both come on for a 4 song set (encore), I don't see that happening.

@@samleverett58 Do you think it is fair that they basically lose money on the last two shows and it comes out of Gene's and Paul's pocket. I don't think that is very realistic. It is estimated that a show could clear $1M to $500k, so if they paid Ace and Peter $1M, the second show would have to pay everyone else for two shows. So that's not going to happen.

Yep. Tommy does nothing for me. I cringe every time I see him in Ace's makeup. My favorite drummer was Eric Carr so Im less bothered by Singer wearing the catman gear. But yeah, as talented as Vinnie and Bruce were, no one has come clise to filling Ace's shoes.
Funny how the James Bond franchise wasn't affected after how many new Bonds? I liked kiss as a kid then I grew up, things change, that's life, get over it.

I’m happy I saw them in the 90’s, in my opinion the legitimate farewell tour.
I will say that I am still a fan though. Eric and Tommy are both excellent musicians and in my opinion have done an excellent job carrying the torch.

If I were Ace or Peter I wouldn't want to appear on stage and feel like a third and fourth wheel. Especially without the makeup they created? No way, adios. I wouldn't give Gene and Paul that satisfaction.

Boy, this was royally messed up. Golden opportunity to do something special….like, “MTV Unplugged”. I don’t see enough time for Paul and Gene to even rehearse anything with Ace and Peter, as there is only one day off between shows leading up to MSG. It’s the money, the makeup…too much to overcome. But then again….it’s KISS…and you never know what could happen. What if it does happen???!!!!

KISS Cancelled it's Show in Ottawa Ontario Canada at the last Moment Last Night. I'm Trying so hard not to be angry but here is the deal about Ottawa KISS Concert being Cancelled. My family and I were standing in the line up at the front gates, and at exactly 5:40 PM just 20 min before the doors were to open, Event Staff and Security came out and Informed us the show had been cancelled due to one of the members being sick. After some few choice words from myself and hundreds of other fans lined up we were also informed that we would be allowed in the building to buy merchandise only and then must leave. After talking to some staff at the venue I was also given some interesting information. The band had already long since been gone out of the city earlier in the morning but nothing was said by the band or anyone. There wasn't even any soundcheck or meet and greet earlier in the day as scheduled. The band had already split without saying a word, leaving us fans who had been standing outside in the freezing rain and blowing snow freezing until the last minute before we were informed. Not more than 15 min after the announcement even the local radio stations were confused and telling us they had received word the show has been cancelled. Just to add insult to injury the weather in Ottawa had gotten worse and hundreds of fans were still driving and making their way to the Canadian Tire Center only to be informed by staff upon arrival the show was not happening.
Gene always says it's all about the fans....just his way of showing his appreciation.

Never mind the Peter and Ace issue. They never had Bruce and they didn't depict Eric (to a degree, I can understand why they didn't want Vinnie) - it was just their usual show and nothing like a celebratory finale of the band's Kisstory.

For me, i would be humble and admit my fault for being fired and be proud to share the stage one last time with all members. That requires humility and accountability and not many people have it let alone former or current rock stars
Peter was fired the guy who was responsible for their biggest hit and Paul and Gene are so jealous that they never admit it or downplay Peter's contributions sad really. Without Peter's superior voice I would not have listened to them and without Ace's amazing solos, I would have never liked them! Peter and Ace gave Kiss some attitude with kick-ass guitar licks Pete's raspy voice and awesome drumming. I found Paul a little too feminine for me and found his songs sucky. Some guys liked that nothing against gay men. Gene was okay with the demon stich and his voice when he was younger was okay.

If it was me, I'd end it with doing ProShot shows of each era working backwards. Then release on blu-ray.
Start shows n blu-ray with current lineup n ending with original lineup. Each lineup playing only their songs. Bruce fills in for Mark. Singer fills in for carr. I've hated hearing non-makeup songs outta makeup faces all these yrs. Working backwards would give us better setlists.
That's how I'd do it. Yes I know it'd be alotta work doing all the line up shows,but it'd be worth it in the end. Each lineup should do 3 hr shows .

I love all forms of the KISS world been a fan for 50 yrs. I don't care if Ace and Peter show up it would be great, but there is always money involved(Ace right me a check and I'll be there Peter if he feels like it, really he has stated he didn't know if he could play a few songs) lets as KISS fans enjoy theses finale concerts and ROCKIN ROLL ALNIGHT AND PARTY EVERYDAY!

I was at the Last Madison Sq Garden Show. It was incredible. No BS. If course we held out hope beyond hope that Ace & Peter might come out for an encore, but the truth is I didn't feel let down by the show either. Ace went on record that he wanted $1million to play the encore and I don't blame Paul & Gene for not entertaining that. This isn't about Ace or Peter or any one person & that's kinda the point. I was there to celebrate KISS.
You are only hearing what Gene has said...he never asked them because he had no intention of doing that... His ego is too big to bring back the 2 other original guys that MADE Kiss...The last concert proved it. No mention of any other member and all they did was play the same set list for the last 3 shows... Nothing out of the ordinary just going through the motions & I guarantee the roars from the crowd would be way bigger for Peter & Ace than they would for Gene & Paul & that would kill him... Plus having to get rid of the 2 hired goons impersonating them and Gene would of said (IF he asked) "you can come back for a small pay cheque and a few songs, but you cannot wear the makeup" and both Peter & Ace would of told Gene to shove where the sun don't shine...😁😁😁😁😁
I’m confused on this. I recently read on Facebook that Gene wants them to join in their last show, but today there’s a post where Paul Stanley Refuses to having them onboard which was posted Nov. 18 on Facebook’s “ Heavy Metal and Hard Rock Lovers” page and previously in October 18 on Facebook’s “Ultimate Classic Rock” page. 🤔
Though I would love to see that happen, most likely on their Pay Per View concert (since I don’t think that will take place at the November show), I’m looking forward to seeing them in Baltimore, MD on November 29 one more time! Can’t Wait! 🤟🏻

I think Gene has some of his facts wrong about letting people go over and over again... Aside from that, if I were Ace & Peter, I wouldn't do it either. It would be embarrassing to be up there with two guys wearing your makeup. I would think it would be kind of embarrassing for everyone... Speaking plainly, Tommy was and still is an Ace Frehley impersonator. Eric, a great drummer in his own right, is not only wearing Peter's makeup and costumes but he is wearing an official Peter Criss wig. These are facts. Painful facts. Don't get me wrong. I am not disputing their right to be in the band. They absolutely have earned their place. It's just, in my opinion, embarrassing for them to be masquerading as a past band member when, as per Kiss' original "concept", they should have devised their own makeup, like Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent for their individual personalities. I have designed literally hundreds of high profile logos as well as creating brand style guides so I understand the whole branding thing but I also put a little stock in something called integrity. Having said all of that, I am amazed (or maybe I'm not) that Paul and Gene are still painting their faces and strapping all that stuff on regularly and doing anything at all, lip sync or no lip sync.....

Kiss has been nothing but a nostalgia act for a long time. When was their last Lp? Monster, how long was that?! I can't remember off hand. So as such honor that nostalgia's past with all past members on the last show and TRUELY do one thing for your fans.

The 4 originals will always be my favorite version of the band and I also prefer all of those albums with the 4 originals as well, but they basically left or got fired on different occasions, so I'm okay if they don't show up as well. I always wonder if KISS never wore makeup, would fans be as upset without Ace and Peter in the band, because it always goes back to the iconic makeup, which Ace and Peter sold the rights to. Peter's career wasn't anything to write home about outside of KISS and while Ace did pretty well on his own, he could never headline an arena, as he basically played smaller venues. It's a shame we never got to see the original band get along, stay committed and stay together for the better part of these 50 years, but it is what it is and I'm glad Gene and Paul kept KISS going, because the concerts I saw with Eric and Tommy were fantastic and I never noticed any disappointed fans leaving the venues. In a perfect world KISS would have gotten along and stayed together for the duration, but this world is far from perfect lol and I'm just happy I now have great lifetime memories of growing up with and seeing one of the most unique and entertaining bands of all time. P.S. I agree with you on Bruce Kulick, as he was always a loyal and very talented KISS member and deserves to be there.
To be honest I saw the original line up in 96 and I wasn't that impressed. I love the original line up album wise but when I've seen kiss the last 2 times 2019 and 2023 I thought they sounded a lot better admittedly Paul's voice wasn't as sharp but it was a much more solid performance. I hope they do a tribute to Eric Carr and Mark St.John on their last concert.

But Iam officially breaking up with them. Gene & Paul are the reason why Iam no longer a fan & the reason why Im going to sell my collection (minus a few things) which I also started in 1977 which based on my research I value at around $10-$12k
I will cherish all my "KISS" related experiences along with the countless memories & of course the music that I grew up listening to which will last forever.
As many know there was at least 1 text book definition rock star in "KISS" "Sex, Drugs & Rock & Roll" AND I will enjoy all the music that has come & continues yo come from

I don't think for 1 minute that Gene has asked Peter & Ace to join the end of the road tour... He would rather say that than admit to not bothering at all... Paul, Ace, Peter, and Gene are Kiss. What is out there now are two old men who should have retired 15 years ago. I've seen videos of the current tour. Gene needs a chair on some days. Paul is in great shape for his age. He is 10% of what he was and it's painful to what him move on stage. Eric is a great drummer but looks silly in the makeup and singing Beth is just wrong. Tommy may be reliable but is the worst guitarist that has ever been in Kiss, all you have to do is look at Ace or Bruce to see how bad he really is. Again he looks ridiculous in that makeup. I wouldn't go see them now if it was free.

It’s a shame Ace and Peter won’t be there. Kiss wouldn’t have lasted without them. Also I don’t like the fact that Tommy and Eric dress like Ace and Peter either. I realize they gave up their makeup rights but letting Tommy and Eric wear their makeup in my opinion is downright stupid. Gene and Paul are just trying to recreate the 70s lineup which is crazy. If Ace and Peter said no then I’m with them. They probably would’ve only done 2 or 3 songs anyway. Gladly and hopefully this is really the end and no more farewell tours. I could care less of Ace and Peter showed up. Yes, I grew up with them, but I learned to respect and enjoy Eric and Tommy so much more. If it was up to Peter and Ace, we would not even be having this conversation because Kiss would have been long gone. It was Paul and Gene's tenacity that kept them alive all these years and it is also their drive to bring back the makeup era Kiss with two other guys who are worthy to wear that makeup.

Wen I saw them in Frankfurt Dec. '96 Peter looked bored & totally unenthused the first three or so songs. Ace was great tho 🛸 Wat if they came out in partial makeup...🤔 like the cover of Pete's '93 Criss album? But that would look weird w 2 Cats &

I think their Prices were aweful for tickets - No Ace No Peter - NO WAY IN HELL-Not even an ERIC CARR TRIBUTE
If the makeup is really the point then do the entire set with Tommy and Eric..have them say goodbye to the fans ....then for the encore bring out Ace and Peter in makeup BUT different costumes....do 3-4 songs and end it like it began.....point is they don't HAVE to be all on stage at the same time...they could do the main set with Tommy and Eric and the encore with Ace and Peter...

I saw Kiss At Madison Square Garden Dynasty Tour Paul,Gene ,Ace and Peter. The show was Electric!!! I was about 11 years old..It was Fire when they finally were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. Sadly they didn’t play together.. The End of the Road tour here in New York will be here on my Birthday in December but sadly I will not be attending because I would love to see the Original four in full make up play. Nothing against the other two guys.. Dig it if Ace and Peter can’t wear the make up which is “Bull Junk!!!” Because Ace leases his SpaceMan make to the franchise … Do an unplugged set were no of them were the make up. But in reality think of The Army put all egos and bad blood to the side and play for the Army and the fans..

My personal opinion is it doesn't bother me that they aren't going to be there. They had multiple opportunities back in the band and each time they screwed it up. So.oh well sorry about your luck. Paul and Gene kept it going by themselves.
I was able to stomach Eric replacing Peter but Tommy is a joke pretending to be Ace!
