So update installed the Borla Cat-Back exhaust on the RS this morning. All can say is wow!!! the Borla exhaust is super legit, love all the sounds and happy to get rid of the flap valve.
Installed it today and I love it. Not too loud but definitely gives a greater presence👌 the pops are insane! The only thing I can complain about is that one of the exhaust pieces was slightly too wide to fit into the elbow before the muffler, so I had to basically pry it in. But overall fitment is great! Thanks CJ and Borla!
I don't really think the intake noise piped into the cabin is "annoying" like you keep saying it is. Anyway, good sounding CBE. I may consider it for my RS.
Bill Tumas so the actuator is retained only to make the computer happy? That fake engine noise is easily removed by unplugging the small amp in the trunk. Best mod I've done so far to mine.
Hey Bill, do you prefer the Borla S-type/Sport or the Touring on the ecoboost mustang? Just thought I would ask since the RS and the Ecostang share the same engine.
Danielle Koran Your right, and you would think that most exhaust makers would have gotten on board with aftermarket active exhaust systems already. Hopefully if Borla does an 'Atak' system for this application, they consider making it an active exhaust system.

Out of the three exhaust systems you have put on the rs, which is the deepest sounding? I have always liked a normal sounding exhaust just deeper. I don't mind louder just not crazy loud and raspy. For reference I had a 300zx twin turbo with stillen cat back, split downpipes, and catless midpipes. Love all your videos.
I just checked his website since I’m actively looking for an exhaust and down pipe to go with my mountune upgrade kit off there. He has two Borla down pipes on there for sale. A non catted one for $346 and a sport cat one for $500.
Really unfortunate that you have to as well. Just takes away the easy option of popping the old one back on if you wanted too without having to weld the piping back together which I would assume since I’m not a mechanic is how you would put the stock exhaust back on there once it’s cut.

Did the sound change at all over time as the exhaust got broken in?
Installed it today and I love it.

Thank you! Glad youre enjoying it! 😎
Just ordered Borla Cat-Back for RS from CJ Pony, should be in Friday. can't wait to install it.
Great video, I’ll definitely be getting a Borla for mine eventually.
Great video as always.
Which one is deeper this exhaust or the awe track sir?

Just a personal opinion. It doesn't sound terrible but to me it is like stick on hood pins, if it's not real and functional I am not a fan.
Bill Tumas lol comparing it with stick on hood pins? haha I understand. Will probably purchase this exhaust within the week. Thanks again, Bill.
Nice, deep sound! I assume that was in sport mode?
With this system you are always in sport mode.
Bill Tumas so the actuator is retained only to make the computer happy? That fake engine noise is easily removed by unplugging the small amp in the trunk. Best mod I've done so far to mine.
Correct. If you remove it altogether the computer gets confused and will not allow you to change modes.
Bill Tumas thanks for the information!
Im debating on the Atak or the type S. I almost like the atak sound better than the s. Would the atak be too loud for a daily driver?
Hey Bill, do you prefer the Borla S-type/Sport or the Touring on the ecoboost mustang? Just thought I would ask since the RS and the Ecostang share the same engine.
I have always been a fan of the S type mufflers, I have yet to hear a vehicle with them that I didn't like.
No flapper in the system? I guess ill be passing on this system. It's a shame too. First US made catback that I liked enough to consider.

Danielle Koran who cares it's an aftermarket exhaust, isn't that the point of going aftermarket for the sound?
Everytime I drive the RS the first thing I did was put it in sport mode to make it sound better. IMHO the Borla makes it sound better all the time.
Sounds meatier than the magnaflow

The Borla and the MBRP would be pretty close, the Borla is raspier at higher RPMS
Bill Tumas , thanks for the quick response.
Question!! I can instant the BORLA S-TYPE CAT-BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM - FORD FOCUS RS 2016-2018 in my 2017 Ford Escape Titanium 2.0L ecoboost?
Does this car still have factory down pipe?
Nathan Ball Yes it does.
so will i still be able to use the track and drift modes?
All the mods will work fine, the exhaust tone just doesn't change.
Does it still maintain the factory 'pops and burbles'?
Cameron Veldkamp did you even watch the end of the video????
love that green screw driver, where is it from?
Snap On
Any suggestions on a down pipe to go with this exhaust?
Nathan Ball Down pipe will net no performance gains. The stock turbo doesn't move enough air to benefit from swapping it out.
Borla will have one very very soon!!!!

was that the tial bov?
No it still had the Turbosmart when we filmed this.
Why cut the exhaust?
It is the only way to remove it without removing the entire rear suspension.
