Who remembers Jonathan first coming out shyly, barely looking at the crowd in sweats and t-shirt on BGT? No one expected anything special, but look at looks are quite deceiving. He surprised us all. He is without a doubt extraordinary. He now looks so much more refined and confident. Jonathan may you continue to flourish professionally and personally.

I am a now 71 year old male....NEVER had a singer bring tears to my eyes with their very first 2 or 3 notes as Jonathan Antoine did when I saw the BGT video of his first appearance of Charlotte and him in tandem......and THEN had the presence of mind at the end, in spite of his obvious discomfort with the cameras and audience, to tell Simon that he and Charlotte came IN together and would continue ON together !! Only the lighted American flag going up high above darkness amid fireworks could fill your heart like that !! And this man sings so powerfully WITHOUT ANY DETECTABLE EFFORT at 17....he can COMMAND the stage as few performers !!

He WAS in obscurity, but he was also 17. Charlotte gave him the strength to do the audition, but his gift would have been discovered at some point. He would not have stayed hidden, but credit to Charlotte for introducing us earlier.

@@ruthbrower8152 Jonathan himself has said that when he agreed to do the audition with Charlotte, he was in a very low place in his life, not seeing what his forward path could be - even though he had already had many accolades including at the Stratford and East London Music Festival's "Young Musician of The Year" the title of which he won in 2010. He was offered places at four junior departments of the London Conservatoires and accepted a place at the Junior Royal Academy of Music. He was not hidden, but he was struggling with his mental health, about which he has been quite open. As you said, full credit to Charlotte for reaching out to him and convincing him to go on BGT with her. If you watch the audition video (the most watched audition on RUclips) you can almost see his transformation begin. @@calibean7736 I have to disagree we should be accurate. She was the one moving him forward, and she was the one behind him being there. Without her he wouldn't have seen the future we are happy to see now; Charlotte therefore was the hero. Now Jonathan did work hard, and he is more of an epic, but he is not exactly heroic. To be a hero is to contribute to others, not to self - I know it's subjective but going by definitions, Charlotte was the hero. Charlotte, as lovely as she is, was just the one we loved hearing about. It was a beautiful friendship. I also find it sad that people don't appreciate the wonderful work she has done in her own career. Why do people assume she is unhappy? She has never appeared bitter or say she felt betrayed in any way by Jonathan. I think the media has put this out there to simply "sell a story" . I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL VOICE AND HIS BREATH CONTROL IS UNBELIEVABLE. HE HAS A GOOD RANGE EVEN WITHOUT GOING INTO FALSETTO. IT'S BEEN FUN WATCHING THIS MAN GOING FROM THE VERY NERVOUS 17 YEAR OLD ON THE STAGE OF BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT TO BECOMING A VERY CONFIDENT YOUNG TENOR SINGER ON THE STAGES OF THE WORLD.

67 years old... Grew up listening to the Righteous Brothers... Never (ever) thought I would hear someone, anyone, sing this song as well as Bobby Hatfield... While Jonathan Antoine's version of this song is slightly different, his operatic ability kind of gives you an idea of just how good Hatfield's voice was... Comparing these two makes about as much sense as contending that Rembrandt was a better painter than Monet, so I will leave that to others, however, I would like to encourage Jonathan Antoine to consider doing more of these ("oldies") ballads... Lastly, how incredible is it that were it not for Charlotte Jaconelli the world might never have heard of Jonathan Antoine... She helped make all this possible...

Chris Visser; Jonathan's version is essentially the Bobby Hatfield version down a couple of octaves and slower. I, like you consider Bobby Hatfield's version to be the best ever done, however this one is far, far better than any others, including Roy Orbison's version.

Johnathan has incredible range! He sings this from mid-baritone to upper tenor and not one crack!
For one of his age, he has genius control of his voice, plus the length of time he can sustain a note... amazing.
If you watch the video of he and Charlotte touring Italy, and visit Pavarotti’s vocal coach, they are all surprised at his control.
One of the reasons Pavarotti was considered the best tenor, was because he could sing a Tenor aria without his voice cracking or changing notes.
    Johnathan does this.
