Thanks to artists like Rudolph Barshai, Wm Primrose, and now younger players, we are now living in The Golden Age of The Viola.
i am very lucky guy because,i,m collector of music,my father was viola player and i receibe plenty of music by heritage,and SURPRISE¡¡i have the original music of this concert,the published is in russian language year 1958.-
I also collect music that is not on IMSLP, especially viola music! If you don't mind could you share which pieces did your father left you in heritage? I could give you a list of pieces that I have and maybe we can exchange via email some pieces :)
@@torterrakart7249 yo I know it's been 3 years, but do either of you happen to own any recordings of Vladimir Kryukov? Especially if he has any viola music outside of his sonata.
Massively underappreciated masterpiece, and of course since it's Barshai he plays it wonderfully.

I think this concerto and the Roger Nixon concerto are two of the really great viola concertos of the modern age.

Cuando entran los violines el concierto sube de nivel (una pasada), me da pena que sea un compendio de otras obras, si el señor Bunin vivió muchos años, seguro que tiene obras muy buenas. Gracias por subirlo. Buen violista.

I have only conductor's score. You may want to contact Violist Alexey Ludevig in ST Petersburg, he just performed Bunin's concerto in Irkutsk

DreamMurks, The theme in unison strings at 6:50 and 7:40 sound slightly Tchaikovskian, or at least in the Russian tradition.for example.

Nooo there's a part that is just like the third movement of Tchaikovsky's concerto
I mean taking inspiration from existing works is entirely ok, and they did something quite different with it so honestly I think it was great.
