Are you saying I could have used my code even after I placed an order? I had a code when I ordered but thought i would enter it on the order page somewhere. Three days latter a Tesla rep called and I asked where to put the code and she said I would have to cancel my order and start again to use the code. As the $5000 rebates offered in my province were starting to run out Tesla suggested I could loose the rebate if I reordered and lost my place in the cue.

Im not a car person by any means. However i was curious about these electric cars. I drive a C class Mercedes and I love it, but I asked the Tesla dealership in my area if I could do a test drive. With other companies they asked me 300 question before I could even drive it. What do I do for a living, what do I earn, what do i drive now, will I buy one soon, etc. With tesla they just said, sure come by at this time and day, and sent me an email to confirm the appointment. I went there, showed the guy my drivers license and we got in. He drove first, then I got to drive it for about 45 minutes and the moment we were done, I knew that this was the part I was dreading, we didnt do the paperwork at first so it has to come now right? Everything has its price. I was expecting him to make me sign something that allowed them to send me emails, maybe even by mail, maybe I had to sit in for 20 minutes to listen to him talk about why I should buy one ( KIA does this, I hate them for it ). When we got out of the car, I asked him, "so what do you need from me" he said nothing at all, we shook hands and he told me to stay in the dealership if i wanted to keep looking at the cars, or I could leave. This simply shows the confidence in Tesla. They dont need you to listen to them for 20 minutes, they dont spam you with advertisements, these guys let you drive the car, and they know you will want one. Im selling my C class later next year and buying a Model 3. No hate towards Mercedes, ive literally never had a problem with them or any of their cars, but its just not the same.

Another person bitten by the Tesla Bug.. Thanks for sharing your story, it’s not at all unlike my own. Or thousands of others I’m quite sure. This car doesn’t need salesman to talk you into buying one. The car sells itself, which is why they don’t need to advertise. I’ve had mine for 6 months and I never had a passenger not say Wow.. I never imagined myself spending 60K for a car before this. This is my Retirement Gift to myself, best and most satisfying purchase of my life.

I was looking at the Model S at the Amsterdam car show 3 or 4 years ago, and the guy asked me if I wanted a test drive. I told him that there is no way I'll be able to afford a Telsa any time soon, and he said it doesn't matter. Their mission, according to him, is to expose as many people to the Tesla as possible. Basically, they knew up front I wouldn't and couldn't buy one, but that was no issue for them. Now, years later, I've just ordered a Model 3... ;)

I just ordered my Model 3. They only have a choice between Standard Range Plus and Performance in Australia and I had been intending to get Long Range rear wheel drive. While I was wondering what to do, I thought I should test drive the Hyundai Kona Electric (one of the few other electric cars available here). I rang and they said “Sure, come this afternoon”. The dealer took a copy of my driver’s licence, showed the various buttons in the car and then said “I think you’re ready to go”. He didn’t even come with me. It was 3 pm on a Saturday and he said “We haven’t got any bookings today and we close at 5 pm, so you can have it for a couple of hours. Take it home and show the family”. He was really nice. It was a nice car, but a bit too small for me. I ended up ordering the Model 3 Performance. The Hyundai dealership never hassled me after the test drive. I wish them luck and hope they sell a lot of Kona Electrics and Ionic Electrics.

Thanks for a great list, Andy. A few more I've picked up along the way:
    • You can slightly double-pull the right stalk to engage EAP; no need to depress it to its limit.
    • The lumbar support has two separate air bladders, activated above and below the equator of the activator button, whose front or rear you press to adjust.
    • Each front door pops open enough (after you thumb-press the fat part of the exterior handle) to use one finger to yank it the rest of the way open along the corner trim. No need to grab the handle.
    • The in-car voice command "Navigate ChargePoint" will produce a list for you right on the MCU. Try "Navigate restrooms" too! . . .
    • If you're stopped behind someone in traffic while still in EAP, after they start moving again you can give the accelerator a quick tap to coax it into accelerating sooner.

The Model 3 is the best car I have ever owned. I have a Model 3 long range all wheel drive and it is by far the best vehicle I have ever driven! It is several levels of magnitude better than any other car i have ever been in. It has exceeded my expectations and even surprised me on several fronts. For example I had a false belief that it might be inconvenient to charge a car instead of stopping and getting gas at a "convenience" store. It is the opposite. It's so easy, saves me time, keeps me from spilling stinking, toxic gasoline on my clothes and hands and I am taking money away from an industry that is pushing it's costs off on the health care industry. I installed a solar array before I purchased the car and also installed a 240 volt outlet. It is so much easier and literally takes 5 seconds for 98 percent of my charges. The super charging network is also very good and the V3 super charger is going to once again change everything forever!!!

Another tip for you. I like to set my steering wheel pretty low when I drive, but it makes it hard to get out when I park. And getting to the steering wheel control can be tedious, which is why we save it to our name in the first place. So I created a new driver that I called Exit. I set the wheel to raise all the way up and saved that to Exit. Now, when I want to get out of my car, I press my name, which shows all the names, and press Exit. The wheel goes up and out of my way. When I get back in the car, I press Exit and then my name, and the wheel goes back to where I want it for me to drive.

I've been using 303 for years on my vehicles, it's great for tires too. I do that same hand position for EAP, it's the most comfortable I think. Those autopilot alerts are so annoying, I get them every 20-25 seconds. Romance Mode puts heat out of the drivers vent and cold out of the passenger vent, to steam up the windows. But only if it's not in sync mode. Good video, I learned some things.

    Two comments / clarifications:
    1. When enabling remote climate, the car only turns the seat heaters on if it deems it cold enough, and will also vary the level of heat. Also, you can do the long press to shut them off from any seat.
    2. You can appease the EAP notification by rotating either scroll wheel, not just the right one. I believe activating either stalk will also count toward it as well.

I'm a basic car driver and it seems like Tesla's are a lot of car. Are the features easy to access and use while driving? Last question, is there enough room for child seat at the back ? Thanks for your videos, they are great and would much appreciate if you could help me answer these 2/3 questions

@@guillaumesg5001 I don't have a child so I don't know first hand about the child seat but I've seen other Model 3 owners with child seats in the back (I believe Ben from Teslanomics uses one for his kid). No, the Model 3 does not provide a WiFi hotspot for connecting to - it can only connect to WiFi hotspots itself.

I have been driving an eGolf for 5 yrs and I really like the car. Bought a Model 3 three weeks ago (great car). What most people don't realize when they mention Tesla cars are the Superchargers and Supercharger network. The Model 3 is fantastic but what really makes a different is the charging point angst I had - will the charger or whatever access card I need work? This is gone with Tesla.

You didn't mention what Bug Report does, also you can do all the same stuff as submitting a bug report by just holding the car settings icon. It will bookmark the location in the log making it easy to find it when you are in for service. It will take a picture of the display and save it along with the state of all the systems in the car. The only difference is there is no message associated with the report. So if you are having regular issues you wanna capture just press and hold the button when the thing happens.

Similar to the trick with the wipers, if I want to adjust the steering wheel position or mirrors while driving, I just slightly blip the seat adjustment, which brings up the buttons for mirror- and steering-wheel-adjustments on your driver profile window.
I've also been wanting the wiper feature you mentioned! When OFF, one click should be a single wipe, while multiple clicks should cycle through the wiper speeds. When ON, one click should turn them off, while multiple clicks cycles through wiper speeds. Also, the on-screen control should be a slider between fast and slow - pick any speed (not just a few discrete speeds).

God I just love the tech in the Tesla's. I don't own one but I would get one if I could afford it. Such awesome features that almost any other car doesn't have. First I didn't like the interior very much being very empty with just a huge screen. But it actually looks really clean. I can imagine having trouble getting use to not having any physical buttons though. Also the interior/exterior materials aren't super high quality from what I've heard. But the amount of value you get is still crazy.

    Hi Andy. Nice vid.
However, the last part about unlocking the charge port is incorrect. *When the car is asleep*, it still does not / cannot recognize when you press the button on the charge connector. The button only works to unlock the charge port when the car is awake.
This is a big pet peeve of mine. And there are lots of threads on the various Tesla forums discussing it that point out that it still hasn't been fixed since you published this video in January 2019.
So, long story short, the door handle jiggle workaround is still necessary when the car is asleep.

One of the frustrations with HomeLink is getting the “auto garage door close” on departure to actually work without having to use the stalk a second time. One way to get it to work automatically is when the car is in park gently go from Part to Neutral without put the car in Drive. This involves holding the car in Neutral for about 2 seconds. Then shift to Reverse. The car should then display the message that the garage door will auto close in 20 feet (you can adjust this distance) and it will.

  • @israndy
    @israndy 5 лет назад

I tried to see if charging overnight was fixed or if it still won't release the charge cord with the button as you suggested. If the car is in deep sleep, the button will not wake it up still, you must use the door or the trunk, which I find easier. Once they have been cracked the car is up enough to respond to the button press and the charge cable will release. The problem is that it is difficult to get the car to be assuredly asleep. The best way to know it is is to leave it charging overnight.

You can also confirm that you are still paying attention during Autopilot by pushing the right stalk down to the first detent. Down = confirm. Up = cancel Autopilot.
Pressing down will also confirm Navigate on Autopilot suggested lane changes, so be aware that the car may change lanes if it's waiting for a response to the suggestion and you press the right stalk down.

Ive did a testdrive for model s p90d or something 3 years ago (my brother ordered the testdrive but got a hinder.) And it was about 1-2 month cue for testdrive. I didnt want too coz I had no money that time being a student. (I had my Saab 9.3 aero. Later got audi a6 turbo, later chevrolet volt 2012) i still went and did that testdrive. Almost 700 hp... it was a rather rough ride. I still got teslas saler with me sitting in the car:). Now in 2019, done with exam 2015, driving chevrolet volt for the last 3 years I would order a new car. Was looking and testdriving lots of german car, i thought ok my first ever new car with zero miles will be the best match. Did lot of testdriving bmw/audi/mb/volvo/kia/mitsubishi autlander pluginhybrid/kia optima/vw, bmw and lexus suvs... already got price offers already answered to bmw saler that “can you fix/adjust” some few thing in the priceoffer so We can make a deal...
This long and boring comment will finish right a way: in the end I dont remember even why or how I got in the tesla topic. on youtube have seen some reviews/feedbacks from model three owners and called up tesla store and asked for price offer. 29.08.2019 I confirmed the priceoffer for mode 3 and got it delivered 25.09.2019 in Stockholm, Sweden. Long range, dual motor, pearl white and white interior.
Without even test driving. When I went to pick the car the saler asked “did you test model 3 before?” Me just “nope”
After one week owning it can say it is the beat car ive ever had eventhough it got bugs with park assist chimes and raincleaner.
Every passenger i had with me had a WOW-reaction.
I got my first child born in sunmer and already installed isofix for his chair. Tesla folkcar can easily be a family car! The Best and the most safe car on the market. Feelzgoodman!
