A hallucination is a perception in the absence of external stimulus that has qualities of real perception. Hallucinations are vivid, substantial, and are perceived to be located in external objective space. They are distinguishable from several related phenomena, such as dreaming, which does not involve wakefulness; pseudohallucination, which does not mimic real perception, and is accurately perceived as unreal; illusion, which involves distorted or misinterpreted real perception; and imagery, which does not mimic real perception and is under voluntary control. Hallucinations also differ from "delusional perceptions", in which a correctly sensed and interpreted stimulus (i.e., a real perception) is given some additional (and typically absurd) significance. Hallucinations can occur in any sensory modality-visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, tactile, proprioceptive, equilibrioceptive, nociceptive, thermoceptive and chronoceptive. A mild form of hallucination is known as a disturbance, and can occur in most of the senses above. These may be things like seeing movement in peripheral vision, or hearing faint noises and/or voices. Auditory hallucinations are very common in schizophrenia. They may be benevolent (telling the subject good things about themselves) or malicious, cursing the subject, etc. Auditory hallucinations of the malicious type are frequently heard, for example people talking about the subject behind their back. Like auditory hallucinations, the source of the visual counterpart can also be behind the subject's back. Their visual counterpart is the feeling of being looked or stared at, usually with malicious intent. Frequently, auditory hallucinations and their visual counterpart are experienced by the subject together. Hypnagogic hallucinations and hypnopompic hallucinations are considered normal phenomena. Hypnagogic hallucinations can occur as one is falling asleep and hypnopompic hallucinations occur when one is waking up. Hallucinations can be associated with drug use (particularly deliriants), sleep deprivation, psychosis, neurological disorders, and delirium tremens. The word "hallucination" itself was introduced into the English language by the 17th-century physician Sir Thomas Browne in 1646 from the derivation of the Latin word alucinari, meaning to wander in the mind. For Browne, hallucination means a sort of vision that is "depraved and receive[s] its objects erroneously".
Well, like the dad said they were broken up and it seems like they were drunk. It wasn't cheating and it's not like either of them were thinking rational
@@winxclubfairiesrule1 Still gross. Especially when she got back together with his son and clearly had no intention of telling him. Also, "a drunk man's actions are a sober man's thoughts" as they say. Just 'cause they were drunk doesn't mean it was the only time either was thinking of it.
@@boarbro64 ok, so they were physically attracted to each other. It's not something either of them would do in their right mind. And it's not like she ever had a chance to tell him if she even thought to. But, there isn't a reason for her to tell him anyway because they were broken up. I think my health teacher is really attractive, would I ever flirt with him? No. Would I flirt if I was high or drunk? Probably. Now if you wanna judge people based on stuff they did when neither of them were thinking straight and had loosened inhibitions, then you go ahead.
@@winxclubfairiesrule1 She very well could have told him when they got back together. It's not as if they never saw each other again and thus had no reason to bring it up. She sees him and his family God-knows how many times since then and not once does she think it'd be a good idea to tell him of the incident or to get it off her chest, assuming she had even a sliver of guilt over it. I'm not even touching the fact that his own father didn't tell him. Also, I'd like to point out after watching the clip again, the dad states "I was drunk," implying she was sober. So she knowingly screwed her ex's dad, got back together with her ex, proceeded to never tell him despite the fact that she screwed his father. On top, you say "physically attracted" so passively as if that's all there is to it and that they aren't seeing each other on a regular basis via her boyfriend/his son and the fact that she literally has thoughts of him while being examined in this clip. And for the record, people aren't magically unable to control themselves and any of their actions when they're drunk. It doesn't break inhibitions, it loosens them. So long as they're not near pass-out drunk they still have the ability to process what's happening and decide if they want to do it. Considering he can even remember it, that likely means he wasn't at that point. And assuming I'm correct and she was sober, then the point of alcohol's effect on inhibitions is moot anyway and at the very least she's a twat, no matter how you spin it.
I just love how the bf asks if it will hurt her. But the father sais 'a lot hopefullies'. As if he wasn't worried or deep down he worried about having a hallucinating daughter than her well being. Than again I might be wrong.
It could just as easily be a black hole. Both can have accretion disks and strong enough gravitational pull to cause emission of x-rays from the inner accretion disk, which are intense enough to heat outer matter, giving off blackbody radiation, some of which is in the visible spectrum. Also, both can emit polar jets (such as shown), known as astrophysical (or relativistic) jets.
@@Serpent511 Yes, it could be, but I would lump that in with black holes as they are simply extremely active galactic nuclei, which are believed to be structured around a super massive black holes and produce electromagnetic radiation in the same way I stated before.

I'm sure I've seen him in other things before, like Star Trek or something. His face is very familiar but I just can't place it and it's driving me nuts haha!
Actually, black holes can only be observed when they are absorbing mass from another body (usually the outer layers of a star, which appears as a giant disk of gases surrounding a black spot). As the gasses spiral towards the center the pressure and friction is so powerful it ejects jets of high energy plasma from the poles. So no that was indeed a black hole. If it were a pulsar, it would be a small and singular mass rather than it having that shroud surrounding it, and it would be laying on it's side with the jets "flashing" in your face as it turns like a lighthouse, rather than pointing up and down.
Worst part of this episode is that the boyfriend actually forgives her in the end. That's some epic simp behavior right there. I'd never speak to her or my father again. "You were broken up," is never a valid excuse. There are some lines you don't cross.

@@BlueHat1 That's not what OP meant. House walked out of the patient's room, took the unrelated man aside, and told him all about the diagnosis. The patient's boyfriend's father has no legal right to what House told him, so House is in the wrong, legally.
@@partyguy101ify House was communicating a hypothetical, not revealing any actual medical information about the patient, so, questionable? There's also the unique circumstance of House's entire practice. Ethically dubious, sure, but legally? I dunno.

Didn't House, later in the episode, reveal he was lying about the disease?
Different episode, a guy’s wife had an affair and House saved their relationship by falsely diagnosing the wife with a disease that causes a virgin pregnancy. He soon admitted to another doctor (I don’t remember which) that he lied about the diagnosis

You know when they say nothing can escape a black hole's gravity? Take a look at a quasar. I bet you'll never think the same way.

Ah, that was the scene that induced a fear of MRI machines in me when I was young.

This is the most elaborate halucination I've ever seen in any show or movie
I was absolutely disgusted by the end of the episode. Gf and bfs dad were such twats.
Agreed bad characters some dad doesn’t just Frick up his sons gf ex or not
I just love how the bf asks if it will hurt her. But the father sais 'a lot hopefullies'. As if he wasn't worried or deep down he worried about having a hallucinating daughter than her well being. Than again I might be wrong.

I feel like if House calls you a buzzkill, you've stooped to quite a low.
That is a neutron star.
yeah maybe she should've paid attention to her class instead of drinking vodka and frothing at the mouth
@@johnbonhomme2232 0:39 Or just a quasar?
@@Serpent511 Yes, it could be, but I would lump that in with black holes as they are simply extremely active galactic nuclei, which are believed to be structured around a super massive black holes and produce electromagnetic radiation in the same way I stated before.

Not a black hole, a pulsar. But close enough.
If it were a pulsar, it would be a small and singular mass rather than it having that shroud surrounding it, and it would be laying on it's side with the jets "flashing" in your face as it turns like a lighthouse, rather than pointing up and down.
no, that was not a pulsar.
