Is this the most important electric Mercedes yet? Jack chauffeurs a VVVIP* to see if this is the electric car that can lure the rich and famous out of their gas-guzzlers. This episode shows off an obscene screen, impressive drag, a big old boot, and partial nudité. What's not to like?

Having looked at this and a Tesla S , it’s all went down to finance so Renault Twizy it is!
🤣🤣🤣
Good choice 🤭
😅
E scooter !
I know some dodgy bloke from Yorkshire trying to off load a 2nd hand Twizzy . . .
Great video - Jack is an exceptional addition to the channel
Looks MUCH better than the new petrol powered S-class, at least in the front. I really like the two tone color too!
I thought it looked a bit small... then I realised Jack just made it look small!
Probably my favorite episode, like the drama, Oooh and Robert, did you really need to show us your six packs and biscepts? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Those jet turbine air vents and the over-the-top speaker grilles remind me of something one might find on a 1958 Oldsmobile or a '59 Cadillac. Ghastly. Not in concert with an image of Mercedes quiet luxury at all.
i thought they looked like sunflower heads
the Maybach then gets buttons and exquisite knobs and up/down knobs/sliders made of unicorn ivory and a gear stick made from ergonomic shaped elephant morning wood.
No mention of the HUD?
I rather like the exterior design.
Inside, would it not be more challenging to have voice control for functions also controlled by mechanical buttons?
I don't imagine it'll ever have fart sounds.
OMG Robert at the window! I can't stop laughing!
It was hilarious. Glad they are having fun with it. Loved Robert ever since watching him on junkyard Wars as a kid
Lord Llewellen has a certain ring to it...
@@timw1971 I would not be surprised in the slightest if he is Knighted at some point, he's done enough to earn it for sure.
😂😂 Gentleman looks like the real deal to me. .
I, personaly, have always hated every ounce of him and even considered setting my fat Ma on him, but since that sceen .... Now I think he's OK ....pretty funny really!
I hope his Lordship will grace us with his presence again during his help's review of the Maybach model.
Since luxury cars are all about quietness and smoothness and the most comfortable journey, I think Rolls Royce and Bentley have to step up their game and bring an EV soon.
Kodak moment?
Agree 👍 they are in the stone age increasing pressure to move off toxic fossil fuel burning huge toxic cars 🔥 embarrassment 😳 not good 🤣 go quick quiet go electric renewable energy 😉
Dump the big luxury car and go for a luxury bus to take the office with you. Electric power of course. Leave cars like this for the drug dealers.
I except their next models will definitely be electric indeed
To be honest I'm surprised Rolls in particular haven't jumped on the EV bandwagon earlier. It seems that an electric powertrain would suit their philosophy much better than an ICE powertrain. Driving smoothly with an EV is always going to be easier than with ICE.
"a Whiskey in the morning so I can go to the club ... in the right frame of mind" - AHAHA xD!
It's clear that Robert is having way more fun since Jack joined the team, I haven't heard him laugh this much for some time! You two make a great team, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this creative goodness.
Couldn’t agree more. I love all the presenters, past and present, but the Bob & Jack double act is particularly delightful.
Jack was the best choice
Couldn't agree less
Jack ruins this channel. I can only cope with about 2 minutes of him.
He's literally, enjoying tacking a backseat now
Lovely blend of story, comedy and a great EV review. Thank you FC! You go from strength to strength.
Brilliant, one of the best episodes so far with excellent humour. It would be really great if you did more reviews together like this :)
You will be pleased in the coming weeks.
This is the kind of content that I subscribe for: unique, lighthearted and still informative
Well done! Loved the video.
I think this community's always thought that your hyper luxury cars should be EV. I see absolutely no benefit to any other drivetrain lol.
NVH Noise, Vibration, Harshness.
@@dopaminesoup I think he means within the segment.
Really enjoyed the sketch you guys pulled with the review. A lot of car reviews can get a bit boring, so adding some humor really helped me stay engaged.
I really hope you all get chauffeured to Fully Charged LIVE in these. What an entrance!
But there's only 1 Scarlett!
This or a Lucid Air.
We demand more Lord Llewellyn!!!
Well done. My squire is very interested in the merc. I am looking forward being chaufferd to montecarlo later this year.. I say jolly good
can't handle the deflated sacs on the headrests! :-)
Robert knows how to 'do-it-up' with the posh attitude. Well done!!
Can this electric car lure the rich and famous out of their gas-guzzlers? Keep it clean!
Just one look at that exterior, says they have no intention to TRY to lure the rich and famous out of gas guzzlers. This is designed for.. actually, I don’t know who.. I would say a rich, old person who cares about climate change.. which is what? Like a handful of people?
Yeah, because the quietness is what you want with this opulence.
Speed and power isn't that important, it just needs to get effortless.
Oh I loved the whole bit. Scarlett such an appropriate name for a Chauffer.
"The leather is from the softest of cows" LMAO!!!
It was so weird that he said that in seriousness
"das ist precision" - best Denglish
In Holland we also say ‘Denglish’ being Dutch English, so we need to have another remplacerend word for German English :P
@@SegerGiesbers Genglish and Dunglish maybe? So changing it for both langauges.
@@sapkra love it😂
@@SegerGiesbers "Deutsche-lish", surely?
Moving away from their original design was nothing but a huge let down for me. It was stunning, instead this drab looking blob….
I think that's the first time we've seen the front of Robert's house rather than the garage... :-) ;-)
I was under the impression, I don't know why, I must have read or heard it somewhere. The leather for car seats doesn't come from the same cow as your steak. Same as dairy cows general aren't used for meat, or leather. It's a great waste of an animal and I'm sure needs investigating by someone. I think the cows for leather are more pampered so they don't get stressed and create flaws in the leather.
I’m warming to Jack..even though that looks like his school trousers.. 😉
Improvement over his usual homeless look :)
I can't unsee that now
If my "personal chauffeur" showed up in a suit with trainers and a t-shirt I'd fire him on the spot. Just saying.
same, kids these days..
"Sir" Robert in his skivvies, downing a bottle of 'something' rather quickly.. Dying of laughter here..
Brilliantly funny video. One of the best you ever made!
The elephant in the room isn’t the screen, it is the elephant ballsack as a headrest 😂
Lord Robert of Rantmore Hall is magnificent! Off to meet all the fracking shareholders on the 1922 Committee - I hope he gave them hell.
"Off to the 1922 committee.." superb film, great double act guys well done.
SO FUNNY! I'm an "irregular viewer", so I noticed you have a new beard guy to replace the one who left a while ago - he's BRiLLIANT! Loved the way he played along with the whole thing... Probably going to watch a bit more now :)
Really enjoyed this episode. The dynamic duo chemistry is working beautifully.
Came for a peak at the car, stayed for the humor. Mercedes you may just manage to be around another 100 years. Good work.
Finally, an affordable electric car for the masses. Oh… wait!
You can’t use Mercedes and affordable in the same sentence …
Why should a luxury car be affordable?
@@christiaanhetzner1193 lol where I live it feels like every 2nd house has a merc.
Oh and Teslas are very affordable too, aren't they? Sheesh.
Brilliant double act, works really well :)
Robert's head seemed very close to the roof liner ... and he's not particularly tall ...
Seem to remember him saying that he's 6' tall so taller than you might think.
EQS isn’t an S-Class replacement. More like a CLS.
@@ruimpinho but it is a S class replacement
@@btbcc12859 That's what they advertise.. but some elements don't seem as good as the S-Class, I think. Specially in the rear seats. For driving, it must feel as good if not better.
@@ruimpinho Bingo! Benz customers are not hyper mileage people. Sure some will buy the EQS because it's the new shiny thing. However so is the S Class for the same money. Also on a side note the EQS bar of soap style died in the 90s. The competition have cars that don't compromise & are equally aerodynamic.
As big a fan as I've become in the past while, this is easily the most ENTERTAINING episode 😁
I look forward to FC reviewing the Lucid Air when they hit the roads in customer hands later this year. Customers who have ordered the Lucid Air are now being asked to spec their vehicles - so deliveries could be sooner than we think.
In the works
@@fullychargedshow Ooh genuinely looking forward to that one chaps!
@@fullychargedshow alright
That things been in development for a decade
*✓✓✓ lucid might be it's only real contender then perhaps? If it shows up.
You can easily get the massage seats in the back in this normal EQS. You just didn't get the fully spect one
I blame Scarlett :-)
@@Sidowse I mean they also drove the rear wheel drive one, not the AWD. Not every press car is fully spect, but usually well equipped. I dislike it, when reviewers don't educate themselves on the options a car has to offer, look at the car they're given and just assume a feature isn't available just because their car doesn't have it. I understand that that is a ton of work but I like to think it's necessary to educate buyers
Now *that's* the proper way to carry pretend luggage - lots of excessive grimacing, staggering, and the odd grunt thrown in for good measure.
Wonderful. Just wonderful. The music...and the car.
The music sir
It looks like a Honda…
A little part of me wanted Robert to come out in a top-hat.
Have to say, I am not loving the design language coming out of Germany these days.
@@TFT-bp8zk That's who I was mostly thinking of...
25 minutes of pure bliss, the car aint bad either chaps!
Loving the chemistry between Robert and Jack
I have never really been bothered what a car looks like on the outside, as long as its not ugly, its ok. The EQS exterior is ok. The interior matters far more, that's where I spend my time and the EQS is beautiful inside.
Its a shame because the concept and the preprod vehicles were real lookers
I was disappointed that we didn’t get a look at whatever’s in the frunk/froot.
@@Markle2k that’s because there isn’t one, there’s a filter, only accessible by the workshop
I think it is such a great design of automotive engineering and that interior is just on another level.
This great way to do a great stick! I was laughing at whole thing, good job chaps!
Robert plays that character so well!
8:44 The thermostat is set once and forgotten. 20° is just perfect. It manages itself.
I have to say I don’t like it, I’ll never be able to afford one so no worries there. But it looks a bit tacky to me on the inside.
Clearly, Sir cannot recognise quality and luxury when Sir sees it......!
No matter - it's not for you....!!!
This channel needs a TV slot. Presenters, direction & production are all so impressive.
I get the gist. But just to share my uninvited opinion, who watches TV nowadays, anyways
Wow, now that's what I call a dashboard! Non of this silly iPad attached to the air vent look many EVs seem to sport nowadays!
That's the loosest watch I've ever seen! The car is special tho.. there's nothing out there to beat that
This is what Fully Charged is good at. Great edutainment without the infomercial feel of the Home series. Great rapport, surpassing even than which Robert had with Jonny Smith.
I am surprised that Fullycharged starts complaining about the look, which is a subjective thing. I will personally enthusiastically highlight the outstanding aerodynamic coefficient and not even try to indulge narcissistic aesthetic aspects. We are talking about the most aerodynamic car ever made and that deserves only praise.
Still, you are my favorite channel by far!!😘
Yes, aesthetics are a subjective thing.
And Jack was offering his own subjective opinion on that.
Where's the problem here?
I mean, comfort is also a subjective thing too. So should they not mention the head-rests, massage features or the quality of the leather? Whether one appreciates the haptic feedback of a traditional button to an abstract touchscreen control is a matter of opinion - therefore, beyond the realms of ever being mentioned?
For goodness' sake, a car review, by its nature, is a subjective opinion piece. A polemic.
Where did you ever get the perverse idea that any media you consume isn't, at its heart, subjective, I'll never know. The danger here is not the offering of subjective opinion, it's the broken notion present in anyone's head that anything else actually exists. It's not whose "fake news" you're subjected to, but your fundamental incapacity to critically evaluate that pretty much everything contains some level of bollocks within it, of your own accord, that leads to error and catastrophe.
You disagree with me? Good. And that's how it should be. Won't be censoring my sincerity for you, though, as - it must be understood - I'd be doing you the greatest disservice in so doing, so I refuse to sell you short with the simple, yet wrong, untruth of the matter.
All in my humble opinion, of course.
We are interested in technology, efficiency, improvement. This is not Top Gear.
Not quite the most aerodynamic, the GM EV1 and VW XL1 were 0.19, but had fairings over the rear wheels.
Robert should really consider becoming an actor if he isn't one already.
Unbelievable.
Great episode, Will never be in the market for either buying or even being a passenger in one of these, but still worth the watch. Such fun!
Love the production quality and detail in these shows. Sound, editing comedy, great fun.
I love Jack's humour, intelligence and insight into the cars he drives, but why does his sartorial choices always make him look like he's just been released from prison! 😆
That was quite a bad suit :-)
6:16 "Big responsive screen", proceeds to show the map lagging behind his finger...
Looks superb in my eyes, really concerned about the large finger print zone, if that is normal screen plastic it will soon be full of light scratches to go with all the finger prints, perhaps one needs to wear surgical gloves to prevent leaving evidence of ones occupation of the drivers seat.
If you think that car looks 'superb' then you need to buy yourself a new set of glasses.
I'd have that over a tesla anyday :)
See Tesla's mission.
I like how Mercedes has surpassed Tesla once more - I always thought that Teslas didn’t look great on the outside but this thing is absolutely hideous! Well done!
LOL
At least you dont have to look for panel gaps in the Mercedes and it feels as expensive as it costs. The same can't be said for the other company.
@@lychvy8023 yeah it feels expensive but the tech/ui is bad and the acceleration is sub par. You might take calipers to measure the panel gaps while I get sick when looking at a review of a new s class and noticing the more than 6 years old Samsung Tablet in the back. With one company you get panel gaps and with the other one you have to literally pay 50% of the starting price to get upgrades that come standard with every other car and yet the software is still clumsy and looks like iOS from 2008. „Car people“ might still prefer Mercedes but even the black edition amg gt gets smoked by a family car that costs less than half as much.
@@BeKay1211 ahh... well spoken like the typical Tesla cultist/tech geek who clearly has no concept of car culture or any interest in cars, but yet seem to think they know what makes a good car.
Probably should have expected this in an EV channel that is usually filled with Tesla cultists who have somehow done the impossible by being more unlikeable than Apple cultists and the vegans hell-bent on forcing their ideals on everyone to stop eating meat.
I think it's a shame that the EV movement is marred by you Tesla cultists who only seem to think that Tesla is the best "car manufacturer" in the world and be totally oblivious to the various other intangibles that go into making a good car, EV or not.
And the acceleration is sub-par? In a car meant to be a luxury barge and not a performance vehicle? Ludicrous! Forget about the luxury bits, it's not even fast! Omg 😱
Hahaha, your response really does say it all about you Tesla cultists; you guys are a joke and a sore thumb to the automotive world.
@@lychvy8023 ngl didnt expect to trigger you so much that you'd switch to writing in paragraphs but sure why not. My Dad drives a 21 E-Class and I drive a 2008 3 Series so no Teslas here. I like the high quality interiour but the infotainment on the e-class is just so shitty. Even the cheap Chinese Android Head Unit I retrofitted into my bmw is faster and offers a better Software experience with Carplay which you apparently only get on Mercedes if you pay extra, otherwise you're stuck with the monstrosity that is MBUX. I would expect cars released in 2021 to at least have the software experience of a phone released in 2018. Teslas do have their flaws and while I realise that Teslas are lacking a lot of features which cars at that price point should have, the same goes for Mercedes. I personally prefer a good Software experience over 100% consistent panel gaps. Tesla is a faceless company and while Elon Musk does do a lot of cool stuff that doesnt change the fact that hes a manic psycho. Again I do realize Teslas are flawed but currently, as someone who grew up in a world filled with technology its just so infuriating to hop into a nice car and immediately be disappointed by the fact that my 1k phone has better software than a car which costs 100 times as much. Coming to acceleration, the only reason why you deem it unnecessary is because you do not have it. Cars needing to look very techy and aggressive to do 0-100 in under 4 is a thing of the past. If you wanna jerk off to your nappa leather ashtrays and mahagony window switches while being chauffeured around in your phantom then fine, have at it but at that price this thing is a car which most people will still drive themselves and I personally would at least appreciate having the option to have fun with my car if I want to. Luxury cars nowadays don't need to be slow anymore and the only reason why this car isn't smoking the entire mercedes lineup is because they still want to sell their black series amg gtr crap to people like you who would actually buy something that will deafen you when accelerating while still being slower than family cars and not being able to drive over speedbumps without ripping of parts of the car. If mercedes would finally release cars that would compete with teslas in terms of tech and power (which they could if they wanted to) teslas premium lineup would die out and the only fans of these things that would remain would your "Tesla cultists" but given the ridiculous direction mercedes is currently taking I doubt this is going to happen anytime soon.
Hilarious, entertaining and informative. I agree with the critique. Thank you
Amazing achievement, amazing car. Pity it looks like a poor copy of the 8th gen Honda Civic sedan.
so good! one of the best episodes so far!! well, done guys
Hope this depreciates like the rest of the S classes. Would love to be hooning around in one of these in 10 years
Ewww being a Merc that electric drive train would cost a fortune to fix in 10 years. That low purchase price would just be too buy an expensive project car.
Nope its electric and it will not depreciate because its EV and it doesn't require maintenance like the ICE version ones.
@@Neojhun I think its just the range that will go down some miles because of the batteries.
@@Neojhun you do realise that electric drivetrains are a lot simlper than the gasoline/diesel drivetrains? simpler design makes for less wear/faliure points to "fix".
@@EXO903 Yes I know that. But this is Modern Mercedes Daimler we're talking about. Even Ford found amazing ways to over complicated Mach E.
Love it almost don’t even remember what the video was about, such great quality in the shows and it’s good to have the two of you doing the little skits together.
Clever how operating the right side rear door control on the screen opens the left side rear door ... oops!
Its because it's the left hand drive model.
Jack scarlett does an amazing job. Great addition to the team
Most beautiful BEV, especially interior, on the market at this moment in my opinion. Don't have the money tho 😅
Congratulations on a great report. I enjoyed it.
Hilariously informative gentlemen! I say, bravo!
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY Mercedes does not applay ANY design rules to its designers. IT IS SIMPLY BAD design both the exterior AND especially the INTERIOR. It's a MESS. It feels old, cluttered, tasteless, outdated. It has NOTHING to do with modern architecture and modern design rules and achievements. TESLA really is the first car company on earth that MASTERED design both for the exterior AND especially THE INTERIOR. Mercedes should try to learn something from Tesla, or AT LEAST PROPER DESIGN! Embarassing as well how much Mercedes charges you for all the repulsive fake material trash all over the interior. Awful.
Lovely to see Robert doing his best Dame Edna impression... 😜👍🤣
No to buttons and switches. And gah, how ugly the "styling"! Blah! And 😂😂😂, they copy TESLA's presenting door handles!! Of course, I think it's brilliant for the door handles to present to the passenger/driver, but what a copy cat Mercedes is with this car!
Great presentation guys! Marvelous!
Only the softest cows 😂😂😂
youngest calves..
About 14... 'cows' died to dress the interior. And the leather was not a by product of producing beef. The poor things were reared for their skin. Any flesh/muscle sold for human consumption, subsequently, merely a small value add.
More like the ugliest electric car ever, at least from the front. That grill replacement, and just the whole structure, urgh, just awful. I guess the sides are more boring than ugly, and the back has potential, but it's still a little offputting. Maybe after a face lift or two, but the front needs a complete transplant.
Real leather makes the steak cheaper... it allows the meat to be sold cheaper and to a bigger marker than it otherwise would be. There are other uses for leather, it would not be thrown away, as the demand shrinks the price will too and at some point, someone will buy the hides. They might use it to make tacky leather bed sheets, car wraps, fertilizer, pool covers, biological research, flooring, etc. Mercedes paying for premium thicc hides fuels the massive livestock pollution problem by expanding the market for livestock and glamorizing/marketing cow organs to cultures that previously didn't. Imagine the catastrophe we'd have if the 80's appetite for leather came back, or if china decided to celebrate the end of the year of the cow by covering the great wall in leather.
Outstanding entertainment! Well done guys.
Thank you for the insightful review of the electric car that I've been waiting for the most. I did appreciate the English humor touches ;)
Jack on point, yet again.
Why have a car thats good for the environment but ony because its electric? Adding real leather ie material from one of the biggest polluters for the planet makes no sense except financial for Mercedes. While i can understand the argument made for using the leather, surely this is not the place for that use. Where do they source the leathe?, How do they produce the leather? What Chemicals are used, what waste is created, are the people who make it paid more than a living wage etc etc. Overall Its ugly, and all show over practicality and the environment sadly.
I have to say I really like the look of this car, way more so than any backwards Rolls Royce or Bentley.
The exterior could not be uglier, especially for the $$. Looks like a Camry from the front. My guess is that they are prob losing money on these vehicles and want to discourage customers from switching.
Great double act guys! Could we also be witnessing the new Crichton in training?!
Great video. Why are people so obsessed with climate control buttons? How often are they actually used, the whole point is you set it and leave it, you aren’t changing it every 10 mins.
That and a cute chauffeur would do me nicely. Nice to see Poldarks house again, sadly he did not have his top off in the window 😀
Still so disappointed by the looks after the stunning prototype MB were promoting.
I could not agree more !!
