White Plains has stated Tony Burrows did not sing lead vocals for their hit record My Baby Love Lovin'. It's Ricky Wolff. Tony was a background singer on that song.
Ricky Wolff was the lead singer on the studio version of My baby loves lovin. It has been long-standing misinformation that Tony Burrows was the lead singer of this song. Sorry he wasn't. He was one of the backup singers on this song.
Tony is a great guy who came in to Olympic studios and sang a high harmony on a Slade hit ... I was the engineer on five of their #1 hits .... it was my idea to ask Tony who had a strong falsetto .....he also sang the penultimate vocal note for Jimmy Webb’s ‘McArthurPark’ Richard Harris ...so fine ... x
@Dixene Lee hi Dixene …. I didn’t record Love Grows… but looking back what a phenomenal run of success… the songwriting, sound , Noddys superb voice … the package indeed .
Glad you liked it. I wanted to showcase him with some of the groups he was in. I'd love to see him live. Wish he'd come to my area but I doubt it since he's in the UK.
What a vocalist. I never knew he sung all of the these tunes. I have to say he is was at the top and to remained humble and cared about his family to not travel or seek a career with a group. That says alot about his character and personality. You have to respect that considering how artists then and now only care about fame and fortune. It isn;t always about the money.. I wonder if he is a Christian?
I agree with yaa. I too wonder if he is a Christian too? He & the rest of Edison Lighthouse seem nice from what I've seen of them in videos.. I like how he was such a family man. He sure sang alot of good ones...
Unfortunately I don't have footage of his other groups but wish I did. I have seen videos of them on here before. You can try searching RUclips and see if they are there. Glad you liked the video.
Many thanks for posting the video, Do you have any footage of any his other groups, which have not been mentioned so far, The Ivy League (Tossing and Turning) 1965, The Flowerpot Men (Let's Go To San Francisco) 1967 and The Pipkins (Gimme Dat Ding) 1970.
the sad thing is tony burrows released 4or 5 singles on his own but alas just could not get a hit in the charts,,,,,,,, because he did some great 70s bubblegum tunes .....ace singer>>>>>>>>>
It's Ricky Wolff singing lead on White Plains single My Baby Loves Lovin'. Tony Burrows only sang backup on the chorus.

it's a shame he didn't have more solo hits. He is a good one.
Bad INFO: White plains lead singer was Ricky Wolff: he's singing the tune you put up... that's him he's the Studio singer (not Tony).

Not sing lead on all of them. Ricky Wolff sang lead on My Baby Loves Lovin'. Tony Burrows only sang backup on the chorus.

You're right. I forgot to mention them. Thanks for reminding me...
I would've loved to have seen him stick with Edison Lighthouse and White Plains. Maybe they would've done more stuff.

Tony Burrows wasn't the lead singer on My Baby Loves Lovin'. That's Ricky Wolff singing lead on the single. Tony Burrows sang backup on the chorus.
Wonder why he didnt stick to one group?
Its hard to be successful in so many.
If he had carried on with Edison ...who knows.
