I really like how the Brits respect and treat their older stars and artists. I find that very refreshing, and heart warming. We in the states dismiss our older artists, for the most part. We have age discrimination and ageism here far too much. I did live in England a few years. Loved it. I learned that Brits all a bit crazy. When people ask me what I thought of UK, my answer is --- when I went to England, Monty Python was comedy, but, when I came back, Monty Python was documentary to me. I had so many stories that seemed so Pythonesque.
@@memyself1566 I had a consulting job while I was there for about 3 years. Company got me a home in Cobham. It was great. After 3 years, it was time to go home. There were just too many quirky things about England to live there permanently.
@@craigkdillon Many thanks for your interesting reply. Apart from the obvious, such as the weather and the over population, especially of London, what were the quirky things that made you feel uncomfortable about living within the UK? I am genuinely interested in your opinion.
@@memyself1566 LOL I have stories that seem they came from a Monty Python skit. 1. Riding to work on one of the few diesel trains to Waterloo station. The train slowly rolls to a stop. I'm an American! I have work to do! What the MF is wrong with this train?? I start going a bit nuts. Such a thing in not allowed by Metra back home in Chicago. Well, the Brits are just sitting there. They take no notice. WTF is wrong with them?? Then, the intercom comes to life. ""(crackle)... Pardon for the delay, there are swans on the line." WTF !?! SWANS?? In Chicago, Metra stops for nothing and no one. All these bankers, financiers, big lawyers, all have their work stopped for SWANS???? To me, that felt like a Monty Python moment. BTW -- the Queen owns ALL the swans in Great Britain, and no one and nothing is allowed to harm them. That is just one story. I have lots more. Ask me about the "wrong kind of snow". That is the best and true story.

Fascinating story about Tony Burrows. A five times one hit wonder. Brotherhood Of Man was one of the bands he had success with back in 1970 but I'm not sure if it's the same group who did Save Your Kisses For Me and won Eurovision in 1976.
I knew this since long and I liked then all songs, but my favorite was Love grows surely. But I did not know, that he was in the Flower Pot men before.
The Flowerpot Men included one Jon Lord on keyboards. You might recognize him by some of his other work, such as playing piano on The Kinks’ **You Really Got Me**. Or, perhaps, from something else. Like the entire catalog of the supergroup Deep Purple from 1968 thru his retirement from them in 2002.
It was also his vocal on the very first Guys n Dolls single "There's A Whole Lot Of Loving" but was uncredited and of course the lineup we all remember are completely different people.
I remember when my baby loves loving came out is as a young teenager and i heard the group was called White plains, I mistakenly thought they were from my hometown of the Bronx New York since there was a main street called White Plains Road there!

Just found this video. I'm trying to rebuild my music library after Google wiped out about 1/2 of it when they shut down Google play music app. At one time, I had 3 of these songs in my library. Thanks for helping!
Such a well spoken man. Very polite. I remember all these songs.
That lady's eyeshadow is the real one hit wonder.
After fifty years it’s finally nice to see the face behind the voice . He appears so agreeable and kind not burned out or bitter - refreshing . I remember exactly where I was standing decades ago when I first heard the song “ My Baby Loves Love” . I live a thousand miles away from there and havnt seen the house since 1979 , but I can still see it. A different happier time and the song faintly transports me back there long enough to give me a pang of nostalgia. Like homesickness.
The real lead singer of My Baby Loves Lovin' is Ricky Wolff. Tony Burrows only sang backup on the chorus. Here's a clip with Ricky Wolff singing this song live ruclips.net/video/zWpHm5ICooQ/видео.html
The voice behind “My Baby Loves Love” was actually Ricky Wolff. Tony only sang background. Holy Cow.
When people ask me what I thought of UK,
my answer is ---
when I went to England, Monty Python was comedy, but,
when I came back, Monty Python was documentary to me.
I had so many stories that seemed so Pythonesque.
Pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. What made you come in the first place and what made you go back home?
@@memyself1566 I had a consulting job while I was there for about 3 years. Company got me a home in Cobham. It was great.
After 3 years, it was time to go home.
There were just too many quirky things about England to live there permanently.

Many thanks for your interesting reply.
Pardon for the delay, there are swans on the line."
WTF !?!
@@memyself1566 BTW, are you a Brit??
He comes across as a really nice guy and apart from Gimme dat ding, he sang on some great songs.
He has an amazingly sweet voice.
Love Grows is my favorite song.
I remember the song Love Grows when I was a kid and I just heard it again a year ago. Time flies.
We have everyone of those singles and what few lps those great songs are on...go Tony!! Awesome..thanks
One of my favourites is United we Stand. There's a great b & w RUclips of them singing it live.
Tony Burrows - The King Of The One Hit Wonders.
I LOVE ALL THESE SONGS DIDNT KNOW IT WAS ALL TONY WHAT A TALANT.
He also released a single in 1970 called I've Still Got My Heart Joe........great song
What a man. So humble. Fair play to the guy
What a great smile he has.You can't help but smile in return.
He was like Mel Blanc of 70's pop.
He should be proud. Not many people can claim to have had five number 1 hits! 👍
True. There are a lot of talented musicians who will never have any hits.
Non pretentious songs…the very best type. He’s a part of so many great memories of so many ‘old’ teens. ‘I remember when that song’…fill in your own story.
Really love this song even tho I was just a kid😊
Beach Baby! Another amazing song!
I had no idea!!! I'm impressed.
Holy Sheep-shit Batman..... up until now, I wouldn't have placed his voice on so many groovy songs. Thanks Tony, for the music.
His set at the Holiday Inn on Thursday during happy hour is good too. Seems down to earth and drinks are half price
All of those were fantastic
What a nice guy, Thank's Tony
Legend !
Fascinating story about Tony Burrows. A five times one hit wonder.
Brotherhood Of Man was one of the bands he had success with back in 1970 but I'm not sure if it's the same group who did Save Your Kisses For Me and won Eurovision in 1976.
No different line up was Tony,Sunny her Sister
Sue Roger Greenaway and John Goodison
A very amazing and awesome story! Tony is a SUPER ⭐
Yes, and he's passed on since.
@@davidkent8606 I prefer to focus on his better moments lol
Jon was in the touring line up for that band along with Nick Simper. The keyboard was recorded by Billy Davidson.
Great story and sounds like a very nice bloke! Good on yah!!
He seemed to have the "perfect" pop singers voice.
He and Rick Derringer, who is on 17 top 10s, both still called a one hit wonders after many...insane...
I believe Derringer was the first American to hit no. 1 in a group, then later as a solo artist
What a Lovely Genuine man.Seen a clip of him singing with Sunny at a James Last concert and he is making her laugh as she is trying to sing Brilliant
