A great tribute to a great legend!!
Beach baby my favourite song of all time
Dad introduced me to Bill in (72 Vega days. ) like they were best friends . Talked power to weight ratio of the 66 L79 car . See what I drive now. (Since high school). Oh it’s a real L79 just that the motor is sitting on a stand in my garage to protect it from me

Where Uncle tony went to school
If he ever lost a race it was because he was trying to smoke rather than drive
What kind of pinhead smokes a cigar while racing
Definitely sounds like a Chevy haha
I watched Don at Pomona Fairgrounds many times. One could count on a great contest when Don was involved.
Such an honour .. ruclips.net/video/DLuHYjzZ7Jw/видео.htmlsi=mad6rXJTO0R_aOpK
6:08 The last puff he gets while ringing out 4th gear is badass.
Back in 76 I did not know of Bill Jenkins or much about pro racers for I did my racing on the street with a ex bracket 68 Z28 that two brothers bought, no consoles, no hidy lights no extra weight. They broke the motor. The motor was not salvageable and they went and bought a 70Z again as a bracket racer. The shop that they used was my friends who bought the 68, sourced a 70 LT1 and modified it. More compression, cam, head work, etc. I bought it from them for $2500. Watching Bill shift brought back memories for that is how I shifted it. 7,050 rpm all day and night. One tough car and motor
Tony Burrows - The King Of The One Hit Wonders.
I would LOVE to have his CV......😁
The GROUP gets the credit for the title "One Hit Wonders", not just the lead singer. So whether your playing an instrument or singing backup, it's yours to claim!
They even had Don Garland even!!
Hall Anthony Gonzalez Scott Taylor Paul
I love the cigar and the shifting gears by Bill Grumpy Jenkins
Way cooler
Yea, but he still loses. Hes a loser. About as big a loser as trump.
Its crazy to think that 50 years prior to this film, cars weren’t even a thing yet
Loved this , still do, one hit wonder, forever in music history❤😊
While you indulge in your nostalgia not a single objection to that monster.
Beach Baby is awesome
I remember when my baby loves loving came out is as a young teenager and i heard the group was called White plains, I mistakenly thought they were from my hometown of the Bronx New York since there was a main street called White Plains Road there!
I knew this since long and I liked then all songs, but my favorite was Love grows surely. But I did not know, that he was in the Flower Pot men before.
Most of the street tires we have now days. Are better than 90% of the racing tires in the 70s. This was before Radial tires. Those bias ply tires were really were terrible. When a friend told me to try a pass with his Mickey Thompson cheater slicks. On the way home I stopped at Mickey Thompson's Warehouse harbor boulevard in Santa Ana two blocks from my house and picked up all the traction I needed.
Brilliant song if we could go back in time fantastic ❤
Brilliant...Legend!
I wonder if he still has that Camaro!!!! That whip is worth some real money 💰💰💰
The fuckin goat
By the way, Grumpy identified as 100% male. In case the video didn't explain that thoroughly.
The only reason any Chevys had a chance at winning was because the HEMI cars were first penalized with 200 lbs, then they mandated 400 lbs!!!
Summer of 68 I saw Grumpy run at a drag strip in northern new jersey. I was walking through the pits and was walking by Grumpy’s Camaro . I looked underneath the rear of the car and Grumpy was underneath looking at the rearend where the driveshaft connects to it . He said something to me explaining what he was checking. I was a big fan of him and at 16 I was surprised he spoke to me . He wasn’t Grumpy he was really a nice guy . He remains my favorite racer to this day .
The more I watched about this man, the more respect I have for him!! He was not cocky, he was humble, but he was a hard man to beat!! Love you Grumpy!@
Smoking a cigar and no safety gear.....love the good ole days 😂😂😂😂
Grumpy could make a chevy small block scream
He has an amazingly sweet voice.
R.I.P. Ricky Wolff
Still thrills😊
Im 32 and wish i was born or able to time travel to back in the early days of drag racing and stock car oval track racing where your average guy can build a nhra dragster or nascar cup car and go race agaisnt the best of the best i. The nation. I am friends with a guy that was part if the Alabama gang in oval track racing back in the day and he has his nascar latemodels and nascars that he buolt and ran in the 60s and so on and still races to this day and his 69s-78 cars all have a cigarette loghter like the old school one you push in and it gets really hot and you can light a cig and he would smoke a cig while racing stock cars and drag cars back in the day and even the 5 nhra super stock cars all have cigarette lighters in them as well so he can light his cig while waiting to do his burn out and smoke while he is going sown the strip with a cig in his mouth doing close to 140-200 mph depending what car and what class he is racing in that day.
He looks more handsome than he did back in the 70's. He's gorgeous!
Beach Baby is a great song. The inspiration of course was the Beach Boys. And of course the song itself is a kind of tribute to the Beach Boys and that musical period which included plenty of "surfer" music.
540hp is crazy for the 60s....sheesh
I had a pro street Vega in early 80's. Crazy on the street...got less than 100 miles a tank. Was stolen in 82'
5:56 aint nothing better
Muscle cars pro stock have come a long way 😮
Infatuation He made it go
