I remember this song on the radio and I was driving my mom somewhere and she said "Awww turn this song up" I did and when it came to the part that says " the world is a bad place, a sad place, a terrible to live ohhhh but I don't wanna die" my mom turned her head to look out the window and to hide her tears that she was crying. I knew she'd be gone long before me and when I hear this song it grabs my heart strings. I love you mom❤❤❤

Those were some special years to have been growing up as a teenager. We witnessed the explosion of rock and heavy metal music. The 70s gave birth to so many legendary bands. I'll always remember the parties, all the concerts, great friends, and wild times. Personally I don't know how or when my days will end, but I do feel very lucky to have lived them decades and I share your sentiments 👍 August 2023.

From someone who grew up in the 60s & 70s I can't tell you how many times I remember the old days and how I wish I could go back in time and have a do over. There would be so many things I would change like talking to this girl in 8th grade named Sheri who could with just staring at me make me weak to my knees. Or try out for Baseball or kept going with my medical studies. When I hear this song it rushes old memories back in my mind. I really love this song. To all of those in junior high and high school today. GO FOR IT you only get one shot in life and before you know it your 60+ years old listening to old songs and things you wish you would of done....

Did you live my life? I take this song theologically, because it is based on the inherent sadness since what Christians call "the fall" . When I think about it, what a great ballad for a film as Christ walks to his destiny as a man, redeeming the fallen world with stunning bravery as he is mocked. He wants to go home to his Father but the cross beckons, there is still work to do.
Thank God for the few times I have had a bit of bravery in my life. Fruit just poured out afterwards. Could use some right now.

This song came out during my senior year in college. The shootings in Kent State closed our campus. I had been drafted a few months earlier in the draft lottery of 1969. I was headed to USMC boot camp in a few months. This song has remained seared in my memory ever since. Hearing it now, it seemed to be the perfect soundtrack to my life in those uncertain days. Thankfully, I survived 3 tours, flying a Navy aircraft which makes this song even more powerful to me today. Thanks guys, you were wise beyond your years.

I keep coming back to this song. I've been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and this one hit wonder hits all my thoughts on reflectng is my life. It's feels like I never left that era. I guess that's my home. It's been good, bad,and ugly. This sweet sentiment of a song gave us hope in the chaos of the late 60s. My boyfriend went to Nam in 70. The letters from him fit this song. You just want to go back home. Innocence gone when you figure out "You can't go back home". It's just a reflection. A piece of your heart.

      Same for myself.
I was a (much too aware) 12 year old in ‘69 and this song has been relevant my entire life.
I don’t know why, but there’s something special also about the fact that it was a one hit wonder. Like it was a song that was meant to be… A song that had a destiny.
I was sad to hear that the author/composer had died. Rest in peace.

Oh yeah I remember this song I used to sing this in my room as kid. They sound like the Hollies a little bit but this was when the radio played an amazing range of songs from every different genre of music. I miss those days of radio. Long may they live and thanks to You-Tube we get them at the touch of a button Love it Glenn Augustyn

This is my favorite song from growing up listening to "oldies" radio, thanks to my Mom and also her old record collection, which I now own. I'm so grateful for all of it, but this song just does it for me. I wish I had experienced all of the 60's &70's first hand. I was born way too late! So glad we can still listen to the best era of music, forever.
Marmalade was such an excellent band. Every member played so damn well. Dean has such a beautiful, soulful voice. I want to personally thank you guys for this song in particular.

Eternity will not be about any of us or what we have done. It will all be about Jesus Christ who died on a cross to save us from our sins. The changing of sunlight to moonlight
    Reflections of my life
Oh, how they fill my eyes
The greetings of people in trouble
    Reflections of my life
Oh, how they fill my eyes
    All my sorrow
    Sad tomorrow
Take me back to my old home
All my crying (all my crying)
    Feel I'm dying, dying
Take me back to my old home
    I'm changing, arranging
    I'm changing, I'm changing everything
    Ah, everything around me
The world is a bad place
A bad place, a terrible place to live
Oh, but I don't wanna die
    All my sorrow
    Sad tomorrow
Take me back to my old home
All my crying (all my crying)
    Feel I'm dying, dying
Take me back to my old home
All my sorrow (all my sorrow)
    Sad towmorrow
Take me back (take me back) to my old home
All my crying (all my crying)
    Feel I'm dying, dying
