I am lying here in the dark, it's 4 am. I am listening with my headphones to this beautiful song letting the music wrap around me and give me comfort. My husband of 46 yrs is sleeping next to me. I treasure these hours. He is fighting cancer and it scares me to death that he'll lose this battle and I will be left alone with only my memories and the Beegee music. These were our songs when we first fell in love May 1977. We would drive around on warm summer nites listening to them. I close my eyes now, lay my hand on his sleeping body and remember!!!! So beautiful!!
Hey owleyes5599 first and foremost I'm sorry to hear of your husband's situation. Can I ask if he's still fighting? If so I might be able to help you. If you get this please let me know as soon as possible. God bless🙏🙏🙏
My grandfather, Raoul Poliakin, is playing the violin here. We see back of his head and distinctive white hair at 2:35. We knew he sat in for Stayin Alive but didn’t know he was part of this gem. He’s been gone since 1981, only a few years after this recording. He had a long music career with some very well known performers like Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Tommy Dorsey. The Bee Gees were at the end. Not a bad finale.

The Bee Gees sang this song live for a telethon. They donated every penny of this song to the charity UNICEF, this song alone raised $10 million in the 70s that was a lot of money back then. They never kept a penny from this song it was all given away to charity.

I am currently a 24 year old man, holding hands with my Fiancée who's around my age as well. And this song just randomly played on the radio moments before. I had to know the name of this song immediately and here i am now.
My Father passed 4/5/22. And my Mother just passed 4/11/24. And just yesterday on 5/20/24, my sweet boy Ricky, a black and silver pomeranian took his last breath. I lost 3 of the most precious loved ones. I am so heart broken.
My aunt loved to sing to my kids every night. In a small town nestled between rolling hills, there lived a girl named Emma who often felt lost and alone. Every day after school, she wandered to a quaint little church at the edge of town, seeking solace in its warm embrace. It was her refuge, a place where echoes of faith filled the air, comforting her weary heart. They sang of love that conquers fear, of grace that heals, and of dreams that soar. With every note, Emma felt her worries fade away, replaced by the promise of something greater. The choir’s music began to reach beyond the church, spreading hope throughout the town. They performed at local events, touching lives and bringing people together. Emma noticed the smiles that lit up faces as the music played, realizing the profound impact of their message. One evening, while practicing under a starry sky, Emma reflected on her journey. She felt a deep sense of belonging, knowing they were shining a light for others to find their way. Inspired by her experiences, Emma started to write her own songs, weaving her feelings into lyrics about faith, resilience, and hope. With her friends’ encouragement, she began to perform her songs during choir events, sharing her story with the world. The more she sang, the more her spirit lifted, transforming pain into purpose. As the seasons changed, so did Emma. She blossomed into a beacon of light in her community, using her voice to uplift those who felt lost. The little church became a hub of hope, where people gathered not just to listen but to share their own stories of struggle and triumph. Together, they sang not only of faith but also of love, friendship, and the beauty of new beginnings. Through the power of music, Emma found her voice and her purpose, inspiring others to embrace their journeys with courage. The melodies that once filled her heart with longing now resonated with joy, reminding everyone that no matter how dark the night, the dawn will always break, bringing the promise of a new day filled with hope and love. Emma’s story became a testament to the transformative power of faith and community, showing that through music, lives can be changed, hearts can heal, and dreams can come alive. As she looked around at her friends, she knew that together they were creating a symphony of hope, one note at a time. No one, no singer, no writer, no group can produce a magical masterpiece like this or the myriads of songs these brothers have delivered to the world..over five decades their compilation of songs that they sang, and which literally hundreds have covered, is mind boggling and a musical achievement that can never be outdone..sure there have been exceedingly great singers and bands which blessed us with wonderful music as well, but the feat of the Bee Gees is absolutely light years away from the rest... greatness in the musical world will always be trailing behind these brothers. They are simply otherworldly...their class, humility, kindness, versatility, simplicity, resilience, their appreciation and love for the less fortunate is , in my opinion, simply a one in a lifetime God's gift to this world. There is more than just the voices , most people today don’t realize Bee Gees would write not just the words but entire music score for every song they ever made
If I recall correctly, Rolling Stone didn't even include Barry in their Top-200 Greatest Singers list. Really something, huh? I caught the tail-end of a news report a few months ago that said Barry ranked #1 Best Singer, but I can't remember the source and couldn't find the publication. Conclusion: Rolling Stone sucks.
My mom passed in September 2020. This was her favorite band. Listening to them reminds me of her singing in the living room and just being completely immersed in the music. I remember watching her and thinking she was such a dork, I'd give everything I have to just see her singing this again.
Roni...my condolences to you on losing your mom...she's still singing, she's just singing in heaven for the Lord along with all our departed loved ones whom now have been made perfect in Christ...xo
Agreed. Robin and Maurice typically didn't sing in falsetto like Barry, but here, they all 3 sang in falsetto and sounded fantastic. There will never be another group like them again
Wow the memories, priceless, takes me back when the world was full of love. My father played these songs regularly. He use to say now this is music. I now understand 🙏👍💪🏀❤💯
Nothing today comes close to the music of the 60’s 70’s 80’s So blessed to be born in 1960 and grew up with the best. Bee Gees were the best and will live on forever!
My father loved the Bee Gees so much... He´s passed away 17 years ago and I still miss him so much... He always sang like Barry Gibb and joked with his falsetto. I will love this music forever ❤❤❤
Wow I did not know that! Huge bee gees fan but I missed that factoid. Thanks to you I’m following Bed Gees Twitter now so I don’t miss these little nuggets of gold trivia.
_The BeeGees always believed in philanthropy, and the proceeds of this mega hit are but one example of their charitable work. When you listen to this beautiful classic, your heart will be overflowing with honest love and emotion, guaranteed._
Barry Gibb, if you read my comment I want to thank you and your brothers for sharing your talents and giving us such peaceful music. I sang along to all of your songs and still do!
Barry was at the height of his talent here. Truly the greatest falsetto of all time. How many classics did he write? You know during that time the Beegees could have gotten more respect. But you know how snobby people could be with their respective genres. I always loved them
I'm here listening to wonderful music and just remembering when..... I'm from Queensland Australia and a little way up the coast is Redcliffe where they grew up
Just listening and all of a sudden I burst into tears. I miss them and my life back then! They are still so incredibly good! They should have been more appreciated.
WOW! Each time I hear this song, it takes me back to my childhood and the memories of carefree days. The world then was heaven compared to today. This song is timeless and can be listened to in any generation. Thank you Barry, Robin, and Maurice.❤

My sister is on hospice and today it looks like she will ascend. My heart is breaking. We were Young once and the Bee gees meant so much to us. I'm playing and posting their songs in remembering those years. Such beautiful songs and memories. I know one day I will follow her. For you baby sister. Love you so much Terry Kay.
We are here for such a short time. I was also very close to my sister in our younger years. I even saw 'Saturday Night Fever' with her. Who sees movies as a young adult with their sister? She is still alive but we are very very distant now, and not really in each other's lives. I hope and pray you will make it through.
Completely understand how it feels. My dad, relatives, some friends have all gone already. Greatest pain, and still is today, is my very beloved Pembroke Corgi, GIRL GIRL who passed. Coming to 2 yrs, and the pain & loss is still there. God bless & comfort us all,
She passed 2am on the 6th. Asking for a sip of water that hospice wouldn't let her have. Asking for help. I'm a retired nurse. 2 other family members are nurses. And we could not wet her tongue. My heart was sad and to know how she passed, made it so much worse. A dose of morphine sent her on her way. I talked about our younger years with my ex husband today, when she was young.
The Bee Gees will always be my favorite band. Their songs are just timeless, liked by every generation, and their songs are played anywhere. Listening to Bee Gees, reminds me of my late father. He’s the first one introduced me of the Bee Gees, since then they are my favorite band. Thank you dad, I’ll never forget the times we spent together listening to Bee Gees. Love ya forever, dad (1956-2014).

I lived through the best 40 years of music the world will ever know; the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. There was hit after hit, decade after decade from the greatest groups and artists ever! They created music that will live on forever. I was so lucky to be alive then!
Hard to believe this was forty years ago! I was 14 at the time. These guys dominated the radio airwaves. Couldn’t stop them. One song after the other; hit after hit. All the talent and genius. They were and are unprecedented, unrelenting and unforgettable. The music lives on!
Hi Daniel, I was almost 9 years old, and I loved to listen to these guys up until now. I'm Mexican, I was just a regular kid listening to this kind of music. I started with the Grand Funk,. MY friends thought I was weird for liking this music. After baseball in the little league was this kind of music, loving every moment of it.
Bee Gees can not be considered just a musical group ... Bee Gees was the soundtrack of an era ... rivers of tears rolled down the faces of a generation as they heard the sound of the Bee Gees ... there will never be another like there will never be equal time...

Best songs by the Bee Gees! I was a teenager in the 1980s ... the world definitely needs more love nowadays! This is real music and a classic. I can listen to this over and over again.
i love the bee gees they are a part of the soundtrack to my 70s childhood.. we used to play this track on our stereo on weekend mornings while fixing pancake breakfasts- their music never fails to bring a smile to my face - i have such special memories of my childhood years thanks to the bee gees, fleetwood mac and other 70s bands
I read your post and I got goosebumps...it was almost like you were describing my own childhood....I wouldn't have changed a thing and I'm sure you feel the same!!
Minatos oh there are no words to explain how delightful it was to be a child then- people just wanting to party and have a good time- as a nation we came thru the turmoil of vietnam and the 60s and survived exhausted and only wanting to experience fun times and joy again - it seemed a simple time with simple pleasures
and too much heaven is a song that sums up that beautiful time- with all the violence and unrest we're seeing this ballad needs to be played 24/7 everywhere- the lyrics, wow they touch my heart- one of the most beautiful ballads ever written
They just don't make music like this anymore !! This song and their lyrics ; voices and harmonies goes at the core of my heart and uplifts my soul !! Thanks Barry ; Robin and Maurice for everything !!!
This is December 2024 & this iconic and classic song of BEE GEES continues to be exceedingly electrifying, enormously exciting, exceptionally enthralling, exquisitely elegant and exclusively entertaining even today. The lyrics are likeably laudable and lovely. The music is marvellously melodious, magnificently memorable, magically momentous and mesmerising. The singing is singularly soulful, sincere, superb, spellbinding, sweet and simply spectacular.❤❤❤❤❤❤

Poor Barry is alone now. He lost Robin, Maurice, and Andy. I read how hard it’s been for him to sing without them.
His sister Leslie is still alive and his wife Leslie and their 5 kids and grandkids ..... loved the Bee Gees

If I recall correctly, Rolling Stone didn't even include Barry in their Top-200 Greatest Singers list. Really something, huh? I caught the tail-end of a news report a few months ago that said Barry ranked #1 Best Singer, but I can't remember the source and couldn't find the publication.

We are here for such a short time. I was also very close to my sister in our younger years. I even saw 'Saturday Night Fever' with her. Who sees movies as a young adult with their sister? She is still alive but we are very very distant now, and not really in each other's lives. I hope and pray you will make it through.
