I was out in Albuquerque when they announced Robin's passing. So sad. I made 2 trips there and the time before Whitney Houston passed while there. Sad place in NM
1980. I was wrecked in an accident. When I woke it was my nurse Linda Sparrow took care of me. She sang this song and pounded on my back to clear my lungs. Thank you all.
My dad who’s since long gone was a man of music who loved opera, jazz and arts. I played this song to him in 1978 when I was 17 and he was 56. He instantly loved the song and many times I found him listening to my record on his own. If my dad was alive today he would have been 98. Miss him dearly. This song is a masterpiece in that it has crossed generations. I’m now almost 60, still love this song.
I agree with you about how it crossing generations..... I was about 5 or 6 when it was released, living with my grandparents and siblings in a small village in Guyana (South America).... this was one of my first favourites at that young age.... the thing blew my little mind; I fell in love with it so totally... it still gives me strong memories of palm trees and seaside breeze which is the environment I lived in when exposed to this song. I'm almost 50 now and still get goosebumps on every listen. I guess your dad's prior tastes, and subsequent love of this song shows the caliber of this beautiful creation.
In my opinion, this is one of the best ballads of all time. This song is so full of emotional content, it touches me so deeply and has the effect of bringing out smiles and tears in me at the same time. It's a timeless classic !!!!

My grandpa loved the Bee Gees, and he passed away Jan 1 2023. I remember when I was a kid, he got 'Bee Gees: One Night Only' on DVD, and him, my grandma, and I would sing and dance to it several evenings in a row. This song brings me back to that happy time
