Other than fuel economy, I feel the patrol is better vehicle with that v8 tested reliability, comfort, ride quality. LC slightly better in off road maneuverability
Also seating space the patrol wins. I think the real test will be the 10 auto gearbox in the LC300, if Ford is anything to go by, then there will be a lot of trouble and not under any warranty.
@@patrolofficial1530when they say landcruiser is bettter somebody allways says toyota is paying but when they say patrol is better somebody allways say.oh hang on nobody has ever said that😂😂😂
you can really tell when they favor others , i have the best of both worlds , the best SUV here is the Patrol hands down , and then it goes to a further level when you do your mods to bring it into the present
No one can beat the patrol, i drive patrol Philippines big flood Manila the water already inside the the seat I drive patrol almost 1 hr in flood never stop keep going until I go home.
Huge advantage is the Patrol has a rear locking differential, it is there for a reason and has been designed to work and integrate with the vehicles electronics. It is obvious that the Patrol will function best off road when the rear differential lock is engaged, so test it in that state at all times!!!! A fully locked axle differential will trump any electronic wizardry in low grip situations. The locking central differential in the Toyota merely makes the Toyota as capable as the patrol without the Patrols REAR axle locking differential engaged. I guarantee the Patrol will go further than the Landcruiser when the rear axle diff is locked. A real lack of fundamental drivetrain knowledge.
Nissan patrol give a good ride throughout bad terrains ,,I have a land cruiser and I have a patrol and am telling u base off experience ,the land cruiser suspension can't walk against the NISSAN PATROL ,land cruiser suspension is very rigid
The fuel economy numbers must be independently confirmed as the Toyotas usually get much worse fuel economy than advertised, thus this so called review is little more than an advertisement for Toyota , basically hearsay no real facts other than the right side knock which indicates a design flaw.
Yeh, this reviewer showed his colours when he said the "knock" was due to it being a Press vehicle - FFS it's an LC so its supossed to take punishment isn't it? Then he sheepisly says it's a reported fault coming from the marketplace. and is being investigaetd. This is serious and yet just swpet by the wayside in this review. Give me a break.
In South-Africa the price difference between the y62 and L300 is even more pronounced, the difference could see you ad: front + rear off-road bumpers, a winch, snorkel, roof-rac, drawers, tires and rims, turbo or super charger, etc. al of it on the y62. Makes you think twice over!?
Seem to be digging really deep to find things better with the brand new 300 🤣 Do some basic research though guys, does not look good when you get basic things like service intervals wrong, disingenuous comparisons are a joke !!
Yep Nissan has changed it’s intervals to 12months 10,000km can’t believe they can’t even get simple facts wrong And I don’t think he knows much about cars as his complaint it more feedback in the steering wheels…. Last time I checked that’s a good thing as you want feedback 🤦♂️
I sold my patrol .only bought it caus of the bogans on here talkin it up turns out it was a peice of crap but my new 300 is awsome never go back but i suppose if you cant afford something you may aswell criticise it ay
As far as I know, that suspension knock or "popping" sound coming from the front (especially when you are turning the wheel, or articulating) is pretty common on off-road Toyota trucks and SUVs. There is an extension off the lower ball joint housing. It is a steering stop that is meant to interface and make contact with the reinforcement on the lower front wishbone. So when you are turning, it can make a contact at some instances. I think the idea is that it is better to have the two pieces making contact rather than the hydraulic rack and pinion binding up within itself.
The thing these guys always forget to mention is resale value.? Lots of people whinge about the 300 series price but they don't realize the 200/300 series resale value is the highest of any car on the market in Australia. In other words you'll always get your money back and then some.! We can expect the 300 just like the 200 to be very affordable to run forever. You simply can't go wrong with the 300 Series when you take into consideration resale value.!
The Nissan y62 has better resale value than the Landcuiser 200, some are selling used more than the new price , in 2014 the ST L was available at 55 k on heavy discount worth 60k plus 7 years later....unbelievable!
Seriously you think about resale value. The 300 is an unproven new model with no long term results. Talk to real people and see how they feel about all the bullshit electronics. If you look hard enough the only thing driving up the resale value are the dealer networks because you simply can’t get a new cruiser within a year. That doesn’t mean people are dumb enough to pay that. Toyota is heavily marketed in this country where as all Nissan needs is its heritage and proven performance. Patrol all the way.
Not only money but u also get a very good ride throughout bad terrains ,,I have a land cruiser and I have a patrol and am telling u base off experience ,the land cruiser suspension can't walk against the NISSAN PATROL
The fact you’re comparing the latest offering from Toyota to an old platform patrol with a facelift is absolutely comical🤣🤣🤣 That tells me just how overpriced the 300 is and how good the patrol is. How about comparing the 300 to the Ram 1500 limited. The price gap is closer for a start and both are new.
If only LC300 is the same size of the patrol, a landslide victory for Toyota, LC is kinda Small and short for full size suv, the wheelbase is so short, a midsize everest has longer wheelbase than LC300! LC interior space is small atleast when ur 6’2 in height. Wish the LC300 is same size as the American Size TOYOTA SEQUOIA
Uuuggghhh- why can’t we get the off road equipment in U.S. no skid plates, locker, hill assist/crawl, and only 2 4wd modes. Can we bring the new U.S. to Aus and get the 4wd capabilities? Between Nissan and LC on road is nowhere close. LC is like driving a tractor onroad.
Thank you y62 for making toyota lift a finger to make the new toyota have a decent traction control system over the old 200 or the toyota fan boys would still be driving something like the 70 series hasn’t that developed 😂
I'd always choose Toyota over Nissan, whichever category it was. I just love the styling of the new Cruiser.......rugged and tough. I hear the new engine isn't too shabby either.
Never gonna happen.. with Euro 7 around the corner this will be the last diesel Landcruiser.. the EPA will kill every diesel in the passenger car industry
Other than fuel economy, I feel the patrol is better vehicle with that v8 tested reliability, comfort, ride quality. LC slightly better in off road maneuverability
Absolutely, better car in most areas.
He gets pay to talk this crop about land cruiser, a patrol is way better

The $40.000 differences in price buys lots of petrol !
add new bumpers (front & rear) would equal or better than the LC.
Keep goin - it’s gone stupid now
you can buy a used Land Cruiser for $40k as well
Nissan Patrol all day everyday!💪
You forgot to mention that the 3rd back seat is very tight in Toyota and is not confirmable as your feat will be high.
I would go with Patrol.
How long did you say the LC300's waiting list is???
4 f years

For $20,000 aud, you can do the same. For the same cost as the LC stock, you'll have a patrol fully ready to go well and truly into the wild
Another Toyota advertisement not surprising as Toyota is carsales biggest client.

Of course with an older Generation Nissan Patrol vs 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser
Nissan has 12 month service intervals, getting the basics wrong is inexcusable.
The Nissan's third row seats don't fold completely flat into the floor.

What an utter heap of $41t comparison - irrelevant to serious off roaders. "Kinetic suspension technology" - seriously!!!
