Yeah, they vibrate on a pattern, which is great except then it goes dormant for 2 minutes, then operates for 3-5 seconds once. So really you need four units to get enough vibration going to freak them out. They do get stuck on a single mode. They operate a small brushless motor that spins a weight to vibrate the tip. The battery is 3.7 volts dc and surprisingly that tiny solar cell puts out 4.5 volts. That's a high output. But I used one for two weeks and the mole lived right next to it, tunneling every day. So I bought the scissors traps. They've outsmarted it so far.
They are actually NOT waterproof! I bought 32 of them, and all of them broke after 3 months because water entered the inside. They did replace them, but the same problem remains, they are NOT waterproof, thus the electric components get destroyed. The water enters through the top solar square and goes through the black plastic layer, where 4 screws are keeping this assembled together. This is the weak point where water enters the inside and ruins the electric components,
Not an expert here, but the rechargeable battery could have been bad, try replacing it. You will have to disassemble the product to get to the battery though. Hope this helps.

Ah man, the one you have seems great. The one my brother installed probably driving my neighbor insane.
Thanks for posting. I’ll give it a try.
I cant find the link to the product. What is the brand?

Quiet my arse. These could get you murdered by driving your neighbors crazy. I hate my neighbor for putting these pieces of garbage outside my window.
These ones are much more quiet than other ones. I can only hear it from 6 ft away or closer, if I'm really paying attention.
Are you still mole free?
Still mole free! It’s pretty awesome. I was always skeptical of these, but they have been great!
Awesome! Thank you. I will be buying some today. I have been perplexed as to how to rid my yard of these things.
Update: bought and installed four of these 2 weeks ago and within 1-2 days my mole activity ceased. I can't thank you enough!@@kevinsgarage
Are you still mole free (December 2023) ?
