Ok, so I don't feel this test accurately tests what the manufacturer is claiming they do. Dropping a snake next to the device isn't really a useful test. The claim is that the noise will deter a snake from coming into the area (25m). They don't claim the device will scare off a snake. Just like when he jumps up and down, the snake doesn't leave. I bet if a snake was approaching and saw him jumping up and down it would choose to go in the opposite direction every time. Now to my experience today. I just effectively did a real world test. Last week I bought 3 of these devices (same as the ones in the video), with as much expectation as I had with my ultrasonic mouse repellers. Today I had a fkoff big eastern brown snake slither happily across my yard from the dairy to another shed within two metres of one of the snake repellers. The snake couldn't give a rat's arse about the snake repeller. So, in the real world, it turns out they are as useless as described in the video. Only thing I can think to do is minimise mice as much as possible and install chicken wire fencing that penetrates the ground around my home.

Good video, but I'm not quite sold on the method of testing, not to mention that the snakes in video are somewhat used to humans and handling, albeit to a limited degree. The other issue is that the snakes were placed directly in close proximity to the repellent devices. I would like to see a more objective field test where the devices are set up around the perimeter of a tent in the wild where wild unhandled snakes live and filmed over a period of at least a few days.
Thanks for the great test. Snakes are more incapable of hearing, (hearing organs are less developed) than to smell or to see, which are several times more developed compared to humans.
Snakes actually have some of the worst eyes- they can tell if there’s movement and that’s about it, the direction their pray is moving is sensed through their sensory of the bodies (not hearing but feel). That’s why freezing for a second to try and find a way out is the best way things hunted by it escape. But the fact that they have such great smell, it makes up for them being nearly blind.

I'm not convinced to be honest. The snakes are probably more distracted by you being next to them rather than the snake repeller. Plus, you're putting the snake in the middle of active pegs. I won't be happy with the test until you put pegs away from a snake and then actually track whether a snake changes direction once they approach a snake repeller. If you can show me that a snake will move toward and even up to the repeller from a distance, then that will be a valid test. This test is like putting a mouse in a bucket of water and saying: "See, the mouse is not deterred by water at all". I live on a farm I expect snakes I do everything in my power around our house and sheds in regards to keeping it clean of tree debris and rubbish where they can hide and even keep bushes trimmed up that little bit so I can see under them but there is only so much I can do. My poor dogs when it’s snake season have shorter walks and aren’t allowed to sniff around just in case so is there anything that snakes don’t like that I can do to deter them. And don’t say if you leave them alone they leave you alone cause I can assure you I have been chased by a snake and it changed directions 3 times towards me so it was no,accident and also a girlfriend who grew up being told that found out the hard way it’s not always true. Thanks 😊
thank you SO much for doing this.
So what DOES work?
