Hey Marty, thank you for commenting... Publishing a parts list after the fact is kinda hard since a lot of items are purchased on eBay and don't have designated part numbers and quantities are all over place so you'll end up buying more stuff than you actually need. I pretty much show everything that I used so start at the beginning. You might end up buying stuff and building something that more uniquely fits your needs and taste. Thanks for watching man!
One suggestion for this might be a video to add a secondary small ammo can with just a battery that can be daisy chained to this project to double the AH of the kit.
Bradley, you're one smart man.. Wait until you get a look at the new project I'm working on. .. I was planning on building it first then unveiling it, but since you mentioned it, I'm going to be doing a design build as we go along.... Thank you for the inspiration! Thanks for watching.
@@thisoldmanchannel you are too kind. I have enjoyed your approach to the build design and details. I will mainly use this for ham radio and such. I like the small portable box you have designed but for extended activities an additional battery or two would be nice. I have started to gather the components to build one and follow along. 🤙🏼
I HATE asking you questions because I know you are busy. But I ran into a snag and I really need help. On the above video at time stamp 3:47 you show a receptacle attached to your box for the charger plug. I have scoured the net including the Battery Tender website in search of this receptacle to no avail. Where can I find one? As always Thank You for your knowledge and time>
It's called an SAE Connector and you can find it on ebay which is where I got mine... Actually was a viewer who suggested in the comments that I should use it... Why not? Hey thank you for watching.. Good luck and enjoy!
@@thisoldmanchannel You are The Man!!! Thank you so much for steering me in the right direction. That connector just adds to the clean, professional look! Thanks again!~ Looking forward to more of your video's!! Regards, John
Hey thank you! Just take your time with it and buy components over time. The whole point of it is to relax and enjoy the process, not hurry up and get it done. Thanks for watching, let me know how you're doing with your build... Peace!
Hello Thomas! Thanks for watching. All the parts were purchased on ebay. Have a look at the first video in a new series just published called "Universal Ammo Can Battery Box"... Like and subscribe. Thanks again!
Casey you're 100 percent right! So people built bigger cans and more batteries, including me. Check out my build for the Universal Ammo Can Battery Box. It's really a distribution box with no battery that works off any external 12V. See what you think. Thanks for commenting!
That's actually an excellent idea and I did some casual research on it and only solution I found was using a power inverter to plug a charger into... Typically, what I do is periodically check the voltage on the inboard meter and charge as necessary or after heavy use like running a tire inflator.
@@thisoldmanchannel You be perfectly fine just plugging SLA batteries into the car system, and depending on just how elaborate you want to get with diodes or relays to prevent it from back feeding to the car system when not running so it's always charged when the car battery goes dead
@@thisoldmanchannel Maybe one day I will have the ability to make myself one, I do hope so. I would like to put something together for portable operations. Thank you again.
@@janiceemery2008 Janice it's not exactly rocket science, anybody can build one. I don't have any real skills.. Just tripping ignorantly through life trying stuff and failing miserably and trying again. That being said, I think there's an even better idea out there that's far simpler than building an outlet box with a self contained battery.. I'm going to shoot that video this weekend and post it.
There's no parts list as there are no part numbers for the majority of the items. Best to watch the videos and decide for yourself how you'd like to build your battery box as your needs may vary. Anyhow, thank you for watching!
Hello Kevin, the battery inside is a Power-Sonic with 7 Amp hour rating.. Check out the MTM Zombie box with 3 batteries.. If you got the cash, go lithium... Like and subscribe if you like the videos.. Thanks for watching man.
Hey David, No... There's more than a few videos on larger size Plano boxes... The MTM started out as a easy to build budget box for around $75. Thanks for the watching.. Like and subscribe to see more videos.. There's also quite a few projects in the pipeline.
Copy that... But that's advanced skill level doing what you're doing. I came up with another idea altogether, but got bogged down with other off camera projects lately.
I’ve been following with interest. Very nice build. Would you publish a parts list or links for the parts please. Thanks.

Good Video, I like.. Where did you purchase the white LED lights from?
Thank you! They're 12v truck marker lights from eBay.

When storing in you vehicle for long periods of time, do you have/recommend a DC\DC charger?
