I’m really enjoying the Puma Velocity Nitro as a daily trainer. Great value with the sales you can find. It’s great for the wetter months, so a great winter running shoe in the UK. The grip is fantastic and works on light trails too. I want to try the MagMax too.
Have the 1080v12 right now and looking to upgrade, but I’m new to running and want a “do it all shoe”. Currently eyeing the NB5, Adidas SL2 (90 USD), 1080v14 (130 USD), and the Superblast 2.
Alex here. My advice: get the Superblast 2, if you can find it. I get into how it’s a good “do it all” shoe in an upcoming video. The 1080 V14 is a terrific daily trainer, but it doesn’t quite have the muscle of a workout shoe.
I had the 1080v14 and Glycerin Max both on my feet in store. Both felt great but the 1080v14 just felt slightly more versatile and really not that much less cushioned than the Glycerin Max.
When it comes to Nike, feel they either work for your foot or don’t. I can’t wear them and it has nothing to do with the foam or width. It’s how the upper comes down over the toe. It puts pressure on my toe and cause friction. Going up half a size doesn’t really work. I’ve noticed the same On as well.
I don't understand the hate on the Invincible 3!! Love it so much, I bought two pairs! Easily the most comfortable shoe Nike makes right now. Not a racing shoe! But a great, easy run trainer!
Bought a pair loved them but 2 weeks in the sole was separating. Wanted another pair but got some cloud monsters cause they didn’t have them. Probably dogged a bullet on them
Great video 🙌🏻 I am looking to buy the right shoe to restart a marathon prep after I trained for nyc marathon (3h05’) using only saucony kinvara and adios pro 3 😂 during the last month of prep my knees were cooked and had to hip stretch almost every day but I love ground contact so now I am looking for a little more protection during the daily miles
In general, I always liked the asics nimbus (aesthetically, after 23 I find them carpets) in 2022 I tried the NB 1080 v11, I liked them a lot but something was missing in the back and the tongue to complete them, also the quality of the 25 26 nimbus has many complaints that they tear in the front. Τhe V14s look great! what would it be your opinion between nimbus 26 kai NB 1080v14? thanks!
The Nimbus 26 has a bit more bulk than the V14. Softer, but heavier. It’s also more durable than the V14. But the V14 is more cushioned and textured than the V12, so you’re less likely to have that “missing something” feeling you described.
@marathonhandbook wishing someone could do a review or list of all of the non frazzle dazzle shoes but work well with low stack height, at least below 25mm in the heel. Asics hyperspeed, tartheredge to name a few.
Check out #2😉 - and prepare for three more videos of this sort that rank racing shoes, workout shoes, and shoes for beginners. And spoiler: ASICS had a good year.

He picks NB 1080 as best daily ? wow... lol 😂 running on swamp or soft sponge. I guess this video helps you video either gravitate towards his preference. Shoes feel and rating seems so so subjective
Preference certainly counts for something -- that's why we always recommend that you use these videos as guides, and then go to a running store and test the shoes yourself before buying.
Been really enjoying the Adidas SL2 soft enough for my daily miles with a bit of snap for when I want to do strides or a small threshold workout.
The SL2s fell just out of my top 5. But yes, a great shoe!
@@marathonhandbook why did they fall out. were they displaced or did some problems occur?
I have 6 pairs of invincible 3 and I love it. It has more than 1.200 kilometers and still going.
I combine Brooks Glycerin Max with Hoka Mach 6 for my road running. Seems to be a good combination for me.
Big and cushioned + light and fast. Great combo.

Puma has upped their game this year. The MagMax is also on my wishlist.
These are the shoes I want to get but they are sold out on every site that ships to me 😭
I agree with the IR3. Comfy as heck, doesn't also feel heavy despite of the weight.
Welcome to Team IR3!
i have to admit, i always get sketched out when people rate shoes and their shoes, especially the bottoms doesn't look like its been worn once

That's interesting because I found the V13 to be way too soft...something I didn't notice with the V12, so that's a good rebound.
Nice vid. Been debating between 1080 and fuel cell reb 4
I had the 1080v14 and Glycerin Max both on my feet in store. Both felt great but the 1080v14 just felt slightly more versatile and really not that much less cushioned than the Glycerin Max.
You're certainly hauling less shoe around with the V14.

What are your go-to shoes at the moment?
I’m also struggling with Nike shoes due to narrow toe box area. Going half a size up does help but a shoe feels rather big though still comfortable.
Personally, I like the V13 better than the V14. Notably lighter and a bit softer. Still, I love them both!!
Fair enough - the V13s were a big jump in quality from the V12.
A really good video, thank you. I also like your disclaimers.
Thanks for watching!
Great recap!!😃

I don't understand the hate on the Invincible 3!! Love it so much, I bought two pairs! Easily the most comfortable shoe Nike makes right now. Not a racing shoe! But a great, easy run trainer!
The most divisive shoe in running!
I believe it's bc of the heel slip. Loving mine so far. No heel slip bc of the runner's knot.
@jjcornelio7741 That's the only think I can think of. Otherwise this shoe is super!
Bought a pair loved them but 2 weeks in the sole was separating. Wanted another pair but got some cloud monsters cause they didn’t have them. Probably dogged a bullet on them
@jakeflores4755 I had the same problem with one of my pairs. I just crazy glued it. Still love it and think it's the most comfortable shoe Nike makes.
Bought my invencible because of you mate! What a great shoe!

I see the trend of your rating is base on oldest to newest shoes
1080V14 weigh very close to the More V5.. Love the V5 for recovery runs.
It’s a good shoe. The 1080 V14 is a bit like the V5’s slim cousin.
Hi just want to ask if it's okay to use in first time 21k marathon?
Great video 🙌🏻 I am looking to buy the right shoe to restart a marathon prep after I trained for nyc marathon (3h05’) using only saucony kinvara and adios pro 3 😂 during the last month of prep my knees were cooked and had to hip stretch almost every day but I love ground contact so now I am looking for a little more protection during the daily miles

Very good video n review bro... tq🙏

How could the 1080 fit for wide feet?
The D width trends a bit narrow. You may want to try a wider size, like 2E, if you’re concerned.
Really wanted to see the New Balance Rebel v4 up there, but solid list
Wait for our list of top workout shoes of 2024… you might see it there 😉
@@marathonhandbook can't wait!
Saucony kinvara 14 use??
Anything that doesnt have a stack height of 25mm or more. I live to feel the ground and my feet live it too.
You’re not alone.. maximalism isn’t for everyone!
@marathonhandbook wishing someone could do a review or list of all of the non frazzle dazzle shoes but work well with low stack height, at least below 25mm in the heel. Asics hyperspeed, tartheredge to name a few.
Topo Athletic? They have a ton of good shoes, Specter 2 long run monster and Cyone 2, another speed pure peba monster!
Did you consider any asics at all? 🤷♀️
Check out #2😉 - and prepare for three more videos of this sort that rank racing shoes, workout shoes, and shoes for beginners. And spoiler: ASICS had a good year.
👌
No Saucony's either?
@@marathonhandbook Saucony's?
Not in this video - but we do feature one new Saucony kick in an upcoming Top 5… stay tuned!
What about adidas prime x 2 strung? 🤔
Workout shoe!
God, please dont let me see a lot of people wearing asics at the gym.
Too late :)
Brook ❤❤
where is superblast 2
You may find it in a similar, upcoming video about the best running shoes of 2024 for workouts!
It’s weird u don’t have the rebel v4 in there
For that, wait for a similar, upcoming video on workout shoes 😉
@@marathonhandbook but isn't that shoe considered a daily trainer? and what exactly is a workout shoe? is that a shoe for tempo?
Glycerin 21 best looking in the beige
Hot take!
Very informative video thank you 🙏🏼

Top 5 with the same 5 to 7 shoes, every year. Get those clicks, brother
They must be the top 5 for a reason then 🤷🏻♂️
+1 @kosukemedia
$200.00 now seems to be the new $140.00
Yes - better shoes = higher prices.
Nike invincible is the Worst running shoe I ever have. It is too squishy for running and it got midsole peeling post three runs.
i got incivible 3 and superblast 2 but im kinda bored any of these going to beat those?
Depends what you mean by beat. Are you looking for something faster? With more support?
Novablast 4
New balance always wins
You put the nova 5 for best shoes of 2024? It hasn't even been released yet lmao
It has! More info here: news-emea.asics.com/latest-news/feel-comfort--find-energy--asics-launches-the-new-novablast--5-shoe/s/7a278b46-1dc8-46e0-9117-061a5a1c69e9
Invincible 3 .....most polarizing of 2024!😂

@marathonhandbook just to be clear, I have NB 1080v13. Is 1080V14 much different than v13?
Anyone who doesn’t like the invincible 3 is simply just wrong as its an amazing shoe
🙌🙌
Agreed!! I don't understand the hate on this shoe! The most comfortable shoe Nike makes!
Tell my big toe that gets destroyed by any Nike upper. No thanks.
@leslie6217 Hey big toe!!! MOST COMFORTABLE NIKE SHOE YOU CAN GET! :)
It’s the awful heel slip had to send back.
Why does this video feel religious
I don't agree with you about Hoka shoes. There is something in common with the rest. They are as ugly as all of them.
Ruthless take!
that nike invincible is extremely horrible!!! don't buy them
Why?
@ not comfortable for running
