What did you think of Game 1? Should Dallas be concerned?
I think they will be okay I think they need Kyrie Irving to a lot more better and I feel like Tim hardway Jr definitely has to play more in this series overall as a whole starting in game 2.🏀💯
Even when my team loses, Deuce and Mo are 🎶 THE PODCAST THAT YOU KNOW! 🎶
Mavs fan here. Here are my takeaways from the game:
- Boston came out on all cylinders. Dallas mostly because of the inexperience of our younger guys was intimidated a bit in the first quarter by the Boston crowd and the energy. It will be fixed going forward.
- Porzingis had an amazing first quarter where he didn’t miss at all and took some tough shots. He may be taking his anger on Luka and the Mavs. If he continues to do that the series may be over quickly. But I doubt that can be sustained over a series.
- Kyrie had a horrible game. If he doesn’t have a better game in the series, it may be over for us.
- The assist numbers will be fixed as we move on. Mavs had one of the worst assist figures as a team.
- In my experience when a team comes out frantically with intensity at the first game of a series, it is because they lack confidence that they cannot sustain consistency and solid game over a series. Eg. Clippers and OKC. Mavs lost the first games against both of these teams overwhelmingly. Against clippers we were down 30 points at half time. Deep down all teams are afraid of Mavs and Luka/Kyrie duo, so they try to overcompensate by playing aggressively in the first quarter. To me it just displays weakness. Mavs had a better second half when the nerves quieted down.
- Other than the crazy 3 point shooting, I didn’t see anything in particular that the Celtics were doing that overly concerning to me. Timberwolves were playing with the same intensity in defense.
- It’s first to 4. So it’s a long series. Adjustments will be made.
Crazy good shooting 3, otherwise, their game was as all the others BORING as hell.
Appreciate the breakdown!
As a mavs fan, i'm still comfortable with our position after game 1. We were blown out by OKC and LAC in those game ones. Kidd always makes adjustments.
Just looked at the stats, Dallas was one assist shy of a triple double. Not Luka, Dallas. 😂😂
Lol thats a wild stat
Not concerned. We'll make adjustments, we missed a lot of good looks throughout the game, Kyrie was non existent. I don't count on that to happen again. It is gonna be a tough series though for sure. I expect a better performance in game 2 and I will be at game 3 on the NBA FINALS in Dallas!!! Let's go Mavs.
Y’all cooked. Not enough shooting to keep up with the Celtics.
@@rp2808bad matchup for sure, but also series just begun.
What adjustments? Y’all defense is based on leaving shooters open that works when you’re playing Giddy, Choking Jalen Williams, NAW, KAT, McDaniels, and Kyle Anderson. Good luck giving Boston shooters open looks half the game
Last time Boston played Kyrie in the playoffs he averaged 21 points Kyrie having a big game would actually be the outlier
We lost but we will be back strong in game 2
Really think it'll be a good series
Wondering if the Mavs are now suffering from the same “we win the title in the last series” affliction that impacted the Wolves. Minnesota was playing for one reason, to beat Denver. Wondering if the Mavs are just happy to be in the finals.
Facts… also doesn’t help that their #2 player is too mentally fragile & can’t win a game against their opponent
Dallas just came out flat on the road. Outscored by 17 in the first quarter and lost by 18…
@@Mac2Mon You impress me, I watched your menthaly tough Tatum, even his shooting was great, right?
You're pathetic! He was in the same run for title with way better team for third time...Jesus!
feeling okay....just like in Clippers and OKC....testing the waters....wait for LUKA's comeback points after a loss....TESTING THE WATERS guys.....the LOBS are coming at game 2.....
They came out flat and Porzingis was scorching hot from 3
Redddd hot
Our first game loss continues. Not worried at all. Game 2 is when the game starts for us. I still have faith we will make adjustments & Kyrie will have a breakout game!
Eh DnM
I saw a weak BOS. No reason for them to only up by 8,Mavs were gassed but showed a 30pt game ain't safe.
No team should ever be concerned after a game 1 loss unless they lost there superstar due to injury plenty of time for Mavs to make adjustments we'll see what happens just hoping for a good competitive series 👍
Refs were trash again! Never giving the Mavs a foul when they fouled at the basket, Luka and Kyrie can't get a call, while Boston getting every touch foul possible! It's not like they need help! Best starting 5 in league! The great Tatum, who looks like the 3 or 4th best player on that team! Luka on 1 leg and no help from anyone. This team still needs a 3 pt shooter, next yr hopefully. But we need Kyrie to Show up and earn his money! We can do this if Kyrie would help out! Need more than 14 pts a gm! Hopefully team plays better at home, need 2 wins, tie it up! Go Mavs!
Boston already blew their load 😂. Mavs in 6
Hahaha
Boston was just coming at them from all directions defensively, I don't think there are any answers for Dallas. We are going to find out if they (Boston) are going to step on Dallas' throat in game 2. There just isn't enough super-star power on the Mavs when Kyrie is struggling. Maybe if Mavs were a bit younger on average, they could hang. Dallas will win at least one at home, unlike the Pacers who choked miserably in Game 1
Quarters 2,3,4 were separated by one point total. Let’s not overreact.
good mindset. Gotta come out with the right approach at the start of the game. Good learning experience
It's a 48 minute game, not 36
@@dabneyoffermein595right. They came out flat and that was the difference in the game. They need to get off to better starts
My for you page failed me. 🙃 Great analysis as always. Dallas came out swinging at Porzingis, Horford, etc. and that was a resounding “we haven’t come here to be the reason for a loss”. Luka started looking really tired toward the end of the game, and also looked out of sorts with how little was open assist-wise in the paint. Tatum on the big confused them, I think, and then Kyrie could not buy a bucket. Both he and Luka had really bad turnovers, and some role players decided to play hero ball, but are NOT him. All that said, Boston came out with a good plan, executed, and looked good for most of the game. Game 2 is gonna show us everything we need to know about the series. Is this going to be a competitive grind where 4th quarter execution means something, or is it going to be an uphill battle that requires a throw from Boston in order for the Mavs to take a couple games.
@@kukuljonjonkwondo1588 take away from game 2… Kyrie is letting everyone down. You can’t be too upset, because it’s not a lack of effort. The Celtics are playing good 1 on 1 defense for the most part on him, but that’s not the reason either. It’s the worst word in sports. The yips. He’s dribbling off of his foot… passing the ball to no one… 0-8 from three… it’s actually incredible to watch
