awesome video. enjoyed the journey!! I grew up in kodiak. My dad was coast guard and we were stationed there from 99-05. thats where I graduated high school. Beautiful place. Never hunted anything besides grouse myself but this looked fun!!! that fox was cool!!!!
Best camera work i have ever experiencesd , it was like the bear had me in a death roll , i did not know up from down , right from left, you took cinemaphotography to a level never seen befor.
Dick I agree. That was not a big bear. I'm going this November for my 5th time. Haven't taken one yet as I want one at least 9 foot. I live about 200 miles north of Kodiak.
Your buddy video shooter was hampered by poor equipment I believe. I'm supposing the trip cost you gentlemen more than few dollars? Quality photo gear would have been a minor expense. But, you got some good video of after the kill and some decent still photos of you guys. Congrats, on that trip-of-a-lifetime my friends!
i would be SOOO pissed if I paid all that money and the damn camera man can't keep still and keep the bear in the picture SMFH!!!! camera man is FIRED!!!!!!
They are using today’s resource and technology’s to get the job done. Should they trudge through bear country risking their life walking up on one? Also should they be using primitive weapons? Come on man, get real. These guys pay good money to the locals there to take them hunt and invest money in the local economy. Also wild animals need management that’s where a limited amount of hunters are able to come in.
@@MUCKFOOT⁶⁶⁶ you have to do that cause bears can smell human scent so well you don't wanna go walking around spreading your scent everywhere. if a bear catches wind of your scent he will NEVER come back to that spot
Smart to give a snack to the fox because he may give a yip if a bear sneaks up on your camp. Although you risk him ripping a hole in your tent looking for food. I guess it's all a trade off.
Last day shoot the 7 footer. Rained yesterday, raining today and forecast said rain the rest of the year. Someone prayed for rain and it hasn't stopped since.
There is an awesome full mount griz,in Ankoche airport , what a magnificent beast. It was killed in 2009. I think. Not many things impress me, but that bear did. Thanks Bearhunter5
Alaskan native and grew up on Kodiak Island, me and the people I ran with (both native and white) never got a hard-on to go kill one of these magnificent animals for sport (nor to eat either). Some killed for necessity because the bears would hang around their property. After 30 years of fighting mother nature in the Bering Sea and 10 in Prudhoe Bay OIL patch (-40 temps)....I had too much heart and not enough testosterone to go kill a bear to wall hang and gloat.
Totally agree. I was Aviation search and rescue in the Coast Guard in Kodiak for 4 years and I felt the same way. I really hated when people would show up there to go out in boats spot bears and shoot the biggest and most beautiful for the sport of it. There is karma to killing for sport.
You did an excellent job showing the reality of a Kodiak bear hunt. I was up there hunting April 22nd until I killed on May 1st. I could very much relate to Gearld’s attitude shift around day 5. Thank you for posting.
Very entertaining, thank you and congrats on a nice bear! You guys sure got excited seeing that bathroom after 11 days. Me, I’d rather sh!t outside and have someone dump warm water over my head than use a stinky grungy bathroom. My record is 47 days in AK without running water, didn’t bother me a bit. The bear (Ursus arctos middendorffi)population on kodiak is the healthiest it’s ever been, thanks to hunters and their conservation $$. There been no significant population decline since wildlife managers and biologists have been allowed to manage them. Your bear wasn’t huge and old, but it’s vacancy will now be filled by another bear. There were actually fewer Kodiak bears in the 50’s and 60’s than there are now. The meat from these bears does get consumed, either by animals or I have gifted bear meat to people in closer villages who wanted it. I’ve never eaten it myself, I’m told it tastes sour. Thanks to professional wildlife biologists, wildlife managers, hunters and their conservation dollars, Kodiak bear populations are very healthy, and they should remain so if the professionals are allowed to do their work unimpeded by emotionaly-driven judges/residents/ anti-hunters.
As a Kodiak resident, for the past 56 years I'm well aware of the current healthy bear population. Last summer I had a sow and two cubs in my front yard. They were just passing through though, so they weren't really a problem.
Okay help me understand this. So the bear was killed because he raped someone? He shot and killed some innocent people? He wandered into a school zone? He was black, or brown? ???
A fool and his money are easily separated. This “outfitter” must specialize in taking advantage of people that don’t have the credentials to hunt there. Shame on them for shooting a bear just to have bragging rights. Amateur hour.
Tiny bear nowhere near a Kodiak brown worth shooting for paying big bucks to hunt one. Unless you just wanted to leave with a bear and not empty handed. Yeah that it
I understand how cool it was to have that experience with that fox but training wildlife of any kind to associate people with food is a bad, bad, idea. You guys should know better. Looked like a great hunt though.
Oh Guys your video gives me tension...Don't feed the wildlife guys. Well you got one. Now the fun begins! I guess you didn't like the bear meat? Well most don't either. So The cabins got everything but the wood stove. You mean you never took a swim to bathe it's only 33 degree water! So where's the bear skin???
What about the ones that get killed by trains , trucks , and cars on the highways ? You feel bad for them too ? If so then we should ban trains , trucks , and cars , so no more bears die .
It is beautiful & rather than dying a horribly painful and drawn out death fighting a bigger bear, or depleting the big game population...it was humanely harvested, and what's more beautiful than that? Btw...grow up.
Don’t you feel any remorse for killing such a beautiful animal? Killing for survival food is one thing why would you want to kill such a beautiful creature?
An over population of bears results in a danger to to the residents. . As it is now, we occasionally have one wander into an occupied house. I had a sow and two cubs in my front yard last summer. The "beautiful animal" will kill and eat a sow's cubs in order to mate with the sow. Happens every Spring here one Kodiak.
Do not hunt bears. Let them live out there lives in peace. Why are you so anxious to kill. They look better in the wild so people can enjoy watching them. God Bless.
Good job guys. Anyone with a brain can see your not a professional videographer. Thanks for sharing your adventure. Game and fish provides a certain number of tags to keep the bears from overpopulation. Which would cause disease and starvation. Some people would rather watch that! I'll take a 3 minute death over 3 weeks to months of hell any day.
awesome video. enjoyed the journey!! I grew up in kodiak. My dad was coast guard and we were stationed there from 99-05. thats where I graduated high school. Beautiful place. Never hunted anything besides grouse myself but this looked fun!!! that fox was cool!!!!
This is one of the finest filming and scenic video I've seen this would be. Hunt of a lifetime
Best camera work i have ever experiencesd , it was like the bear had me in a death roll , i did not know up from down , right from left, you took cinemaphotography to a level never seen befor.
Absolutely the worst camera work on a bear hunt I have ever watched.
WORST!
Horrible camera action
That was an awesome video Great Bear Hunt lots of bears and I love the fishing
It is pretty but in my book its a small bear
Have you hunted Alaska?
Hermosos paisajes ⛰️ buena casería saludos desde Colombia 🇨🇴 un participante más de tu canal
All the way to Kodiak for a 7.5ft sow.
The bear had a nice coat and the size is not everything
I'm pretty surprised the guide let him shoot that one. 9' or bigger has to be the goal.
Someone needs a camera man and someone who knows the size of a bear.
Dick I agree. That was not a big bear. I'm going this November for my 5th time. Haven't taken one yet as I want one at least 9 foot.
I live about 200 miles north of Kodiak.
Nice to see the fox meeting, we call it mountainfox here.
Awesome coat...congrats!
👍👍👍
So beautiful there many blessings 🙌🙏

Cub killer
The Camera man is fired !
Man I'd fire that cameraman!!
The kid was not a cameraman, he was, supposedly, a guide. Not a very good one at that.
44:44 amazing 👍
Good show ,had good luck happy for you guys thank you enjoy r,d
i would be SOOO pissed if I paid all that money and the damn camera man can't keep still and keep the bear in the picture SMFH!!!! camera man is FIRED!!!!!!
Looks like a cub!
That bear should not have been shot, young bear, the guy’s comments are BS
background music is hell of nerve wracking
❤❤❤
Gotta love old people working the cameras.
Congratulations
Did you go with a guide or a family resident?
That's a small bear. Too young.
You need to hire a new guide and camera man..lol
lol did you kill the brush you were shooting at 😂
What did the bear measure out to be?
It looked to me like about a six foot sow.
Nice job! Some negative comments about video quality, but fine for non professionals. Nice to see because I'll never have the opportunity.
Why didn’t you keep the wolf fish.?,they are great tasting. Thanks Bearhunter5
That was a Kodiak Bear? I shot a Grizzly on the Alaska Range that was about the same size. I hope you didn't spend too much money.
Good for you
Please tell me that you took more of that bear than the back straps and the head-hide.
This is not what I call hunting!
yeah, they are looking through telescopes
2 miles away from the bears from a boat,
They are using today’s resource and technology’s to get the job done. Should they trudge through bear country risking their life walking up on one? Also should they be using primitive weapons? @@legend_tay3049 no. real men hunt them with bows
@@MUCKFOOT⁶⁶⁶ Why not with a knife ?🤣
What is it about five years about 7 1/2 feet
What Bay was this in Kodiak?
It’s not a gigantic though.
What did it square?
Let’s see your bear hunt then.
@@nrolled2888 A good Kodiak guide would not have let the guy shoot that one.
Smart to give a snack to the fox because he may give a yip if a bear sneaks up on your camp. Although you risk him ripping a hole in your tent looking for food. I guess it's all a trade off.
Some people shouldn't hunt.................what a joke.
Why don't tell me what you shot the bear with ? A 300 mag ? A 338 win ?
When you accidentally beach your boat we called that planting potatoes. Out of all the things I have killed in my lifetime I never took pleasure in it
We flew in that exact plane with Willie to Zachar Bay.
To bad you didn't have a camera guy with you !
Twenty seven minutes of waiting for you to not get the shot. Steve Rinella, you are not. The fox part was cool, though.
That ain’t no monster little cub
Why?
Great hunt. Is it true that you also filmed The Blair Witch Project? Maybe rename this video The Bear Witch Project??
What a camera man
Nothing like a REAL WILDERNESS HUNT BY AIRPLANE; MAN UP, CANOE, BACK PACK. ROFLMAO.
What was wrong with the camera man?
WHY ?
Why what?
Goodnight🤦♂️...another city-dwelling whiner who has no earthly idea of what CONSERVATION is...disgustingly pathetic.
Hold the camera still making me dizzy haha
Last day shoot the 7 footer. Rained yesterday, raining today and forecast said rain the rest of the year. Someone prayed for rain and it hasn't stopped since.
Bear looked awful young. Hope I'm wrong
You're not wrong. It was a very small bear and I think it was a female. Legal, but frowned upon.
There is an awesome full mount griz,in Ankoche airport , what a magnificent beast. It was killed in 2009. I think. Not many things impress me, but that bear did. Thanks Bearhunter5

pretty fucking senseless if you ask me.
Maybe but a lot of natives make money guiding non native hunters to kill them….🤔
Your comment is spot on to what I would say about this video, Fellow Alaskan here and SMH!
Totally agree. I was Aviation search and rescue in the Coast Guard in Kodiak for 4 years and I felt the same way. I really hated when people would show up there to go out in boats spot bears and shoot the biggest and most beautiful for the sport of it. There is karma to killing for sport.
What do they do with the meat? Does anyone eat it or does it taste bad?
26 k views and only 118 subs. Based on this video it’s no wonder why

He said hot water heater! LMAO! WHY WOULD YOU HEAT HOT WATER?
Too bad you couldn't get video of the hit.
Great video, keep going.😍
Did you shoot from the boat???? Why the giggling. Horrible camera stuff.
Congratulations old man forgetting the bear too bad you had a child behind the camera

Shouldn’t even be Feeding the wildlife because next time it will be braiding someone’s camp
Swearing doesn’t add anything

camera man 🤣🤣
When you finish cleaning the bear and head back to camp ..... please throw the camera man over the side of the boat.
Sure could do without all the music or turn it way down.
Come on guys all that good video an you couldn’t even show the kill shot. I give you all a big fat f
I understand how cool it was to have that experience with that fox but training wildlife of any kind to associate people with food is a bad, bad, idea. You guys should know better. Looked like a great hunt though.
The foxes in Alaska all are tame and will approach humans.
Why you feeding the wildlife? That’s wrong
This looks like so much fun, great video!
Tough camera work. Very shakey.
Are you trying to kill that animal feeding him chocolate that is toxic to any type of dog breed
getting dizzy when you pan so fast- not worth watching the rest
great hunt, really? you stalked them from a boat and then you didn’t even take all of the meat, very wasteful!
In Alaska you are not required to save bear meat for human consumption.
I’m sry Morgan mead all that leading up to excitment an no video. You r all likeable guys but u let your watchers down. Damit boys
