The annoying green guy just stared into to the distance at the thought of doing laundry for the whole royal army. You could see just how much he was realizing it was truly a logistical nightmare like the Galactic Emperor said.
One would think "that emperor is an idiot", but think again: Annoying green guy was giving stupid propositions, so the proper answer to that is a stupid one.
Cause, Why would a good emperor invade a village for the sake of it?

Also, it's pretty clear that Galactic Emperor isn't cool with him, but keeps him around. Even if they disagree, the Galactic Emperor is wise enough to see Green Guy knows what's going on a tiny bit. The distant stare was likely Green Guy Realizing that he would be doing the laundry in addition to digging crumbs out of the throne cushion.

I never understand if Joel’s awkwardness is real or just acting, but at this point, I’m convinced he’s just confidently awkward at all times of the day and night.

It took me 3 months to "dare myself" to watch his live action videos, and man I'm glad I made the jump. From the 5 minute shorts films to the hour long movies, this channel is a homemade, but professional, masterpiece.

I'm not usually a fan of rotoscoping, but like, I'd straight up pay to see a feature length rotoscoped animated movie by Joel. The writing and direction just makes it all work so beautifully.
I know this is 8 months old but I could totally see this sorta stuff on comedy central or adult swim, its fucking hilarious and Joel is an amazing director capable of making anybody act well
You should check out the full films on his channel if you haven't seen them (Each is about 60-90 minutes). "Pretend That You Love Me" and "We Have to Leave Here Together" make me cry every time.

Joel out here just setting the record straight with how the audiences for creators on RUclips unintentionally combine forces with the algorithms to restrict what creators can explore and still have this be a viable place to grow that audience.
I found your channel through your animations, and have become completely enamored with all your content. You're a creative, positive and thoughtful individual who is honest and direct with your audience while still being entertaining.
@AyamiGamin now this is the comment that needs to be seen in all honesty. joel’s content is more than just animations and while they may be his most popular, it doesn’t mean people should just look at only this type of content. the live actions are hilarious and root from a style of content that youtube doesn’t really have so much of anymore and that is videos made from pure creativity. kinda like old smosh and old nigahiga.

The audience *is* what causes the algorithm to behave the way it does.
@@VineFynn The audience is not intentionally doing these things. It is down to what RUclips has taught the algorithm to focus on. The metrics they tell it have value are what it uses to decode the viewers actions and produce recommendations built around that. I don't think most viewers want what the algorithm is doing, where it narrows down on a select handful or style of videos

Music groups have two kinds of audiences: one that wants the band to stay as they were (mostly childhood fans) and one that likes to see a band grow.
If a band changes its style the first group will get mad and if the band plays the same repertoire the latter will say that they don’t evolve enough (and don’t get with the times).
I really love how Joel is so giddy when talking about the stuff he makes. He really sounds like talking about something he really loves to a close friend.

I think the leader of my group project took this took seriously and stopped talking to everyone and instead complained why no one's doing anything when deadlines are near, they literally just stay quiet and when you ask them they'll call you an idiot for not knowing since the start, the only one that knew what to do was their bestie who's basically a simp for them

I get the feeling that Joel really doesn’t like doing the animations. Almost like he’s bummed that the animations are what went viral instead of his other stuff. I mean, his live action stuff is great! I enjoy his live action skits as well. They’re a bit low budget, but his writing style makes it work well! I just hope he doesn’t get too burnt out on the animations. The trailing mission parody video is a great example of what an animation can do. The visual gag of that car just repeatedly ramming into another car was hilarious, you can’t do that with live action. Maybe he could do some networking and bring another animator on board to lighten the load and expand what he’s able to do with them?
Anyway, Joel if you read this, stay strong dude! 💪 I’m excited for whatever comes next, be it live action or animated!

Genius idea
As someone who works on literary creations and is just starting out, I really appreciate the monologue's sentiment. Encouraging creativity and experimentation amongst creators is valued so much, and having that support is so nice.
I always wanted to have a go at writing a novella or even just short stories, but doubted my ability and talent.
Perhaps I'll give it a try.
A deleted scene would be the live action shots of this. You put way more effort in this than to call it just a deleted scene.
They dress entire sets, film, cut, sync, and edit audio and folly for deleted scenes in film…

Joel's stuff reminds me of the good old days of RUclips, when people just wanted to share cool things because there was no way to monetize their work (outside of branding). So its nice to see a creator do something just because of their passion.

He probably only had to color over one frame because he stayed remarkably still. I'm sure he did that on purpose to save himself the headache of coloring multiple frames.
@@nibiyabi he doesn't animate every frame. He did a video on his process before and a lot of its automated. Think a single scene of him sitting wouldnt be too much work. (Or at least the effort is not directly proportional to the length of the scene)

Thanks Joel I love you too. I really enjoy your content, from the animations, to the movie with Mason. It has a dry sense of humor that I really enjoy. More than that though, your content has a sort of genuine feel to it. I don't know if it's the occasional break in character from one of the cast members that you leave in the final cut or these monologues you do. It really makes me feel like I know you as a person to some extent as well as a creator, and brings back memories of my friends and I recording stuff on our super 8s well before RUclips. I meant what I said in the beginning though Joel, I love you. I hope you can keep creating with the artistic passion you have. Stay true to yourself and make the genuine content you want to make. The vocal minority may be screaming for more animations, and the animations may get more clicks, but you got to 1.17M subscribers by making content you really wanted to make. Genuine passion projects and not releases meeting specific criteria, to be released by a deadline. You do you boo, see you next release.
