A few days ago I finally got up to date, having watched all the previous episodes whenever I got the chance. I have the same feeling I got when I got to the end of Lord of the Rings and wanted more, more! So it was exciting to watch a fresh episode, knowing that this was what had transpired just a few days ago. Hearing the cow bells, watching the cloud and mist undulating and swirling over the mountains. So majestic, so beautiful it almost hurts! I’m 73 years old so being able to see the Alps through your eyes is an experience I would never have were in not for your inspired vlogs. I live in Japan where everything is much more controlled - at least in the populated areas. Thank you for sharing your wild life. You’ve definitely influenced my outlook on life. Even at my age there’s much to learn! When I saw the mess in the cottage and all the tools being used I wondered how it could possibly be ready for habitation this winter. But even in a week you’ve made such progress. I’m on the edge of my chair with anticipation for next week’s work. Good luck with it all, and thank you again!
Wonderfully said. I too have just finished up watching all the previous videos to be up to date to this one. I feel exactly the same things you say, I am 48 years old and live in America
Did the same thing as I missed a lot. But when I was watching I couldn’t think of anything else for a new video. I am 69 and live in California. It’s nice here but don’t like city life at all anymore. ❤
76, and we are the same...waiting for this serving of peace and serene existence in a crazy world. This place seems isolated from the madness. I run to here every Sunday!!!
Funny how you can be so fond of someone you have never met, each video feels like you are checking in on a family member to see how they are getting on and when he achieves things you feel proud.Great work mate ❤️
And we make him very rich everyday . He travels ,he buys expensive things .This come all from us . I will stop watch because he is so lazy . He always shows only tomatoes, etc .and when you promise tranfomation of old cabine we fans of constructions want to see constructions. He works only when people come to visit and all work for free and make him more rich with likes . The rest is only walking in the same place showing the same ticket , talking about something that he doesn't do it . Slow motion work . No focus ,no concentration . That makes lots of fun of Italian old cabine transformation borded . I stopped to make lazy people rich
We have chickens too, they do the same thing...every time they hear ir see anybody come out of the house; they all come running! Looking for the food😂❤
Dear Martijn, Thank you for giving me a view of what I could see through your eyes. I am almost 79 and always a lover of nature and her beauty. You bring tears to my eyes and a smile to my face. Please continue sharing your world with us. I send you best wishes and hope to see this beautiful home completed someday. Thank you.
The seasons are changing and so are the cabins. The visit to town for boards, the hunt for mushrooms the cows, the farmer's gift of cheese, the chickens, the cold rain, the majestic clouds and sky. The storytelling. All appreciated, so much. Thank you, Martijn. And blessings to the faithful, who stop by here each week to be refreshed by your work,
These are the places I belong, I was born in an adjacent valley in Piemonte. The cattle, the mushrooms, the chickens - all memories of my childhood. t's a pleasure to watch your videos. A lot of distant memories coming back to my mind.
Martijn, another fantastic slice of your lovely existence. Are you not amazed at the positive influence you have on thousands of people now waiting every week for your inspiration? You are a type of humble Guru opening minds and enriching hearts with your unpretentious, simple yet wholesome lifestyle. You open a window to the past that few can ever do. Congratulations for being you, such an artistic rare individual. I appreciate the knowledge that next week once again I feel part of something great and rare. The path to peace of mind.
My 8 yr old grandson just asked if we could watch that guy who builds. We’re watching now in his bed cause he has school tomorrow and it helps him get to sleep like reading which we do also. He just said “I love Martijn Doolaard. So cool.
I love the music of your life! The rustle of wind through the trees, the sounds of a gentle rain, the crackle of a fire, the cackle of the chickens, buzzing of insects. They are all around you, and serve as a reminder that we city-folk need to pause and listen for that music. Thank you for the beauty you bring to our ears!
I am currently crossing the alps by feet, close to where Martijn lives and films his daily life and work. The nature there is marvelous, and Martijn’s weekly inspiration has influenced my decision to do that. Thank you, I look at nature and life differently since I watch that.
I can only add to all the comments in here, because they are saying what we are all feeling. For some reason, your chickens are my favorite on the Internet. They’re just so sweet and you can tell that they like you. Your videos are deliciously long and yet I’m still sad when they end. Thank you for gracing my feed every Sunday while I enjoy my morning cup of coffee. 😌
Martini…a camping tip from the north country where I live. When we go camping, we each find a rock about the size of a small loaf of bread, making sure it’s not from the river or near it (you don’t want to heat up a water logged stone), we place them right next to the fire so they soak up the heat. When ready for bed, we wrap the hot stone in a hand towel, and shove it to the bottom of our sleeping bag. The stone will radiate a beautiful, cozy heat throughout the night against your feet. In fact, the stone will still be warm in the morning. You can do the same, by placing a stone (or two!) on your stove in the early evening.
Its not lost on us the amount of time you're spending getting us interesting camera angles. Your videos are really well produced and edited. Thank you so much for sharing.
The markings on the black and white cow were gorgeous 😍. Now the dormice may have a challenge trying to build nests in the walls again. Windows will really change the interior space. I hope you get whatever is necessary done before it gets too cold. Thoroughly enjoy your videos. 🇨🇦
@@stephaniewillson9383 Thank you so much. I just did a trial packing my car. If it all fits. Will be camping. And touring to meet with real estate agents.
"A promise is a cloud; fulfillment is the rain." Martijn how lovely your homestead is this week. I'm super excited to see the chestnut hobbit door and wow the inside is really starting to show its character. The metal beam supports add a wonderful accent to the beam and wall. I'm so happy friends are coming and getting excited again for the mock-ups to become your reality. Ciao and bountiful blessings. 🌈
Those screws in the T-anchors on the end of your floorbeams are important structural elements and should be dimensioned properly. Their job is to keep the anchors rigid to the beams so you won't introduce a momentum/leverage into the brickwork. Don't underestimate this part....
Yeah. I would have added an upper iron plate, bolted to the lower T piece through the wooden beam. I think it would have been much stronger that way, avoiding risks of instability for the wall.
Structurally those anchors are only good on long term to stop horizontal movement, they are simply too short to carry the full weight of a floor.. It could easily be remedied by either making them longer and securing them really well to the wooden structure or using the cut up beams as pillar, resting on the concrete wall. The latter being the best option.
The scenery in this video was over the top! God's majesty on display for everyone to see. What a wonderful Father we have! All your videos are exceptional but this one was special, especially the clouds lifting. That did something to me. Thank you Martijn for letting us see all the wonder this world offers. 🥰❤
Thank you Martijn 🙏 I love the sense of appreciation and not taking everything for granted, I’m you…the comment you made about the cheese “…he didn’t have to…”. Also, I really enjoy watching how you even handle the stones in such a delicate way as if you are touching silk. Oh before I forget, although I believe you might do so, but I would suggest to frame the old broken plate you found in the wall and hang it in the cabin as a part of the its history. Thank you for sharing yet another interesting video 🙏😇🙌🤗👏
The cowbell song, the cheeses -the visit to the village, the hens, the art of all you film, has become such a weekly delight these past couple of years. Tv is passé, this is my new way. Thank you, Martijn . 🙏🙏
When your bell peppers have the brown spots on bottom and are thin walled adding a calcium amendment to your soil will help the peppers and tomatoes. The green house will be such a blessing to you. To see how far you have come with the walls amazes me. Love how the grass you sowed has flourished. Your mountain shots give a very peaceful feeling to the viewer. TY. Best wishes from San Antonio, Texas, USA
My father was a finish carpenter and jack of all trades. Our homes were always in a state of some kind of remolding. I remember all the wood piles he had collected from other jobs. Such wonderful memories. In my estimation you can keep all of the diamonds and gems. My love and passion is wood. Old wood. Thanks for sharing😊
The scent of freshly split seasoned wood, warm glow of a fire on a crisp cool evening. The tide of mist, gently ebbs and flows, while birdsong and cowbells announce their presence. Life is good 🙏 Thank you Martijn... from Pat - Yukon, Canada.
So glad you added the disclaimer on the mushrooms, so important to have the best teaching possible for gathering and then consuming. The grass looks amazing!!! Sunday just isn't complete without an episode from you.
Groeten uit Nederland. Emotional experience, watching your videos. The incredible strength you radiate, both physical and mental, you are unique. Your drive for perfection and your quest for esthetics in everything you do are truly remarkable. It is hard to think of words worthy of describing you.
So nice❣️Really enjoyed this one. There’s so much to comment on. Loved the scene of the girls in the coop and you in the background looking for mushrooms. Also, how they nestled in when you were cutting down the tree next to the tent. 🙂 They just love being around you. I bet they keep you company. You found a lot of mushrooms! Please be careful. So glad you have someone to ask. I laughed when you picked the pepper.🙂 I made stuffed peppers for lunch yesterday. I can just imagine how nice your greenhouse will be. That’ll be fun to see. How nice the farmer brought cheese, that was a very nice surprise! Seems like a caring community. I’m glad your dreams are coming true Martijn. Also loved the aerial shots.Really nice show❣️ Hope you have a great, productive week with your helpers. 🍁🐓🌻
Beautiful intro, the clouds rolling around with raindrops falling. Very peaceful. Another favorite video of mine. You keep bringing them to us! 😊 I believe you like the cooler weather, you seem to get a lift about you during cooler weather. It invigorates me. Of course I live in Texas and hibernate for months due to the horrible heat here. So much in this week to love…the views, great shot of you picking mushrooms in the background while the hens ate their greens, your awesome lintel, how nice lying in the grass-ahhh, (can’t do that here, fire ants), 24:56 “magical” and mesmerizing!! Very nice Chestnut salvaged wood. I like the one with the knot in it. I can’t wait to see the door! It was so cute when your hens laid in the grass and watched you as you cut the tree for your stovepipe. “Not many cows, many cows with many bells it’s ridiculous, this is nice sound”. So true! I couldn’t agree more, although I’d probably prefer even fewer. 🫨 I chuckled when you talked of those bells. So glad you are wearing a mask when you mix your mortar. Save those lungs! You talked about leaving the holes that are up high; they do look nice. I have a question, are the holes open all the way through? Surely they can’t be. I always notice the bird platform feeder you built, was it last year? Do you have seed eating birds there on your mountain in the cool and winter months when no natural food is available for them? You can also offer them mealworms. If you do have them it would be nice to feed them. You could put a cam on the feeder and see if you get any to come. Was that a broken plate in the stone wall hole? Is that like the shoe you found? Wonder why they did things like that. Winter is coming, getting firewood ready. Your cabin is looking so nice Martijn, you should be so proud! I look forward to next week, will be good to see what is accomplished. Take care. 💚 from Texas
I love rainy days. It’s also a rainy day here. But things don’t look as beautiful here as they do at your place. Your videos are such a joy for me every week. Thank you.
Can I just say how much I like this channel for the lack of membership. And also for you never asking people to like your videos or to subscribe to your channel. Thank you for being normal.
It’s you tubes fault for not paying them enough for their hard work. There’s a lot of creators asking viewers for donations & it’s really sad. You tube should be ashamed. I emailed them to complain about this cap in hand donations. It’s getting ridiculous.
Ok ... this is turning into a Leonardo-esque reconstruction. The shots of the beams and the stones basking in golden light as you ply the walls with waistcoat and headlamp. No stone unturned in the redevelopment of these cottages with acute attention to detail. There's a growing artistry in the videos as the maestro engages with his historic enclave.
Oh how i enjoy my Sundays, watching your week unfold. All those familiar sounds and sights. As soon as you said mushrooms i shouted "mushroom omelette ". Few herbs thrown in , bit of butter and cheese. Yummy! I watched your very first video the other day. How far you have come . It's a joy to be part of it. 😊😊
Thank you, Martijn, for another episode. I can no longer imagine my Sundays without these magnificent mountains. The house is transformed and becomes residential. Soon you will light the fireplace and meet the first snow under a reliable roof. It's also nice to see that you already have so many friends in these places. Good luck next week!
Greetings once again from sunny Florida. 👒 The rain, the fog and the cowbells. Not too loud but not too softly with their musical accompaniment. October is one week away and wondering where the time went. You have created such a wonderful remembrance in the recordings to one day, far into the future, perhaps show your children. I must also say a warm smile came upon me as I read The Guardian article about my old friend Martijn.
So nice to see the chickens foraging and following you around. How will you protect them over the winter from the elements? The walls are looking so beautiful now. WOW ! Thx for sharing your hardworking life with us. ❣❣
Martijn. I’m one of many who love your videos. I have been watching you for over a year now since I stumbled upon one of your very early videos. The lack of dialog captured my attention and your continued devotion to quality craftsmanship. To me it is like a meditation; I become calm, relaxed and fully concentrated on your work. I have shared your story with my family members hoping they will tune in to your delightful weekly chapters and share the joy I receive from them. I’m glad to say that now my husband is hooked and we watch together. It’s one of the few programs we share. Thank you for what you do. Gail and Bob of Seattle, WA
Another superb video. I just relish sitting back and taking in all you do. Two of my favorite things in nature you shared...mountains and clouds. Nothing compares. Thanks so much Martijn. I know it's quite the commitment to continue week after week sharing your life. I so appreciate it!
I look forward to these videos every week. I purposefully waited to watch this one, as to not have such a long gap without a new video. I guess two days was my limit on how long I could wait. ❤
Your work on the cabin exterior somehow made the cabin look even more beautiful! It’s completed its look, like finally putting on a jacket to a bespoke suit. I love hearing the chickens make themselves known with their signature squawk! Thank you for sharing Martijn! 🙏💃🏻🐓
A living cell requires energy not only for all its functions, but also for the maintenance of its structure- Albert Szent. Thank you for more of those beautiful moving nature events. Smiled as i saw you laying in the grass enjoying them too. Take care Martijn.
Enjoyed this week’s video as I always do. The mix of work, the cows, the chickens, cheese, foraging for mushrooms, a nap, firewood prep and ending with a fire delighted the eye and told the story of the harmony of your daily life. The warning about the mushrooms was both apt and timely with Australia agog with 4 recent Death Cap mushroom poisonings resulting in 3 fatalities and a potential murder investigation. We’re all aghast. 😱
Very exciting! Maybe its an idea to have a ground heated ventilation greenhouse. It should give a more stable temperature during night and day. If you have enough overburden you can put these pipes in the ground. Also you can have a sunken greenhouse that does not stand as high, and thus is less susceptible to damage due to high winds. Looking good Martijn! Greetings, Jeff
Thank you so much for setting your vlog to downloadable again Martjin. Much appreciated! Your vlogs are so therapeutic... soothing, peaceful, calming, de-stressing, refreshing...not to mention the feast of visual beauty...wouldn't want to ever miss a single one!
Martijn, I would like to see you invest in a half-face respirator with P100 filters to protect you from all of the silica dust. You have so much work still to do. Wire brushing out old grout. Mixing new grout. You need to protect your lungs. It adds up. And you would be demonstrating good health and safety practices for your audience….and save some lungs…..including yours. As always, we enjoyed the episode and your commitment to high quality, creative workmanship and video editing!
I always wondered why some of the artists of the past always seemed to have a hazy foggy cast to their backgrounds---and seeing your foggy clouds hugging the mountains, I can see why! There is always this hazy quality to the air (and paintings) that is mysterious and kind of spooky, in a way I guess. Kudos on your stonemasonry, Martijn----one moment your outside walls had these gaps and then, poof, they are gone. A very satisfying episode as you prepare for Old Man Winter to come calling.
My friends are out of town, so I go deep into the woods of South Dakota to feed their livestock. The stream cutting through the pasture, that I have to cross to get to the horses, (and get my feet wet, makes the most lovely babbling song. The hazy day, just like you are having, lays a grayness over the trail of damp soil strewn with Chestnut tops everywhere; eaten by squirrels, horses, white tail deer and wild turkeys. Male turkeys are everywhere hiding in ravenes and thick foliage because hunting season is here. The deer leap out of sight when we come into sight. Watching you today reminded me that you are very blessed, and so are my friends. And I got a taste of it today.
It is sad to think if hunting season. But we have problems with over population, and many deer starve to death or die if disease. It is best for some of them to be used to feed a hungry family at this time of year.
Эх, грибочки, да с картошечкой... завидую по-хорошему. Удачи тебе Мартин, здоровья в нелёгком труде, пусть задуманное воплотится в жизнь и радует тебя. Обнимаю 🤗
Good to see the drainage is working. So important to stop mould and damp in the cabin. Love that mist in the mornings, ethereal. First fire for the season. Nice. Enjoy.
The cows are the best in the highlands ... when i went to switzerland and austria ... the cows were sooooo niceee and the bells were a joy to hear 😁...
Looking forward to seeing your windows go in. I have a dining room table made of recycled chestnut which is so beautiful. Younger people don’t appreciate the beauty of recycling. Love watching all you have done

@@irisvucemilovic79Don't be. In times like these, we get to know our true selves and those we meet along the way. Over the last year and a half, I have met a lot of amazing people. Sometimes you just need a distraction so you don't lose yourself. Then Martjin's films are like balm for the soul 😁 The worst thing is that there was no new episode on Sunday 😅 It's almost like an addiction. 🤣 I watched some of the earlier films instead, although it wasn't the same.
Yes, I felt that chill in the air this morning in Austria. Seeing you install the stove in the tent made me really hope you get the cabin habitable before winter gets fierce. Best wishes.
Martijn, I can't tell you how much I look forward to every single video you post. Not only is your daily activity relaxing, the mountains, the rain and thunderstorms, and the music you use are all magical. I would love to visit and help out in some way one of these days if I'm able to. My deepest respect and admiration. God bless the work you do every single day. I have been a great fan since the very beginning. Prayers from SW TX 🥰❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🤠
Dear Martijn, unfortunately I see that things are going slowly. And I understand that alone it is very difficult and the works are carried out very slowly. We are already at the end of September and with these deadlines even the cabin will not be finished in time and you will have to live in the cold again this winter. I'm very sorry about this, because seeing you work in the cold with so much snow last year was painful. I hope you have some other friends who can help you finish at least the walls of the cabin, the staircase and the wood stove so you can sleep warmly. Then you can calmly finish everything else. Good work.
At the minimum he has six weeks to get the stove going inside the house, before the snow comes. But the freezing might also still take two months. All in all you and we don’t know. I’m sure he’ll handle it. Even with snow outside, the work inside can still progress. Relax, it’s his responsibility.
He's 40ish years old, and lived in various places, and travelled the world for years on a bike with a tent! You'd think he knows something by now..... He'll be fine ☺
@melindastclair and @Spiegelvoorelkaar, I'm not desperate. I know perfectly well what Martijn did in her life, he told all of us. We all know that he is a strong man, but that doesn't mean that it's nice to work with half a meter of snow at 3, 4, 5 degrees below zero. The mountains in winter are tough despite having a home. Living in a tent in the snow I think is difficult for everyone. And from what he said this summer, I think he had hopes of spending the winter inside the cabin. I worked in the mountains for over 10 years where people skied. And I know what I'm saying: living at zero degrees all day and even at night, despite the sleeping bag, would be hard for everyone. Because it's one thing to stay in the cold during work and then stay warm in the evening, and another thing to stay in the cold all day and all night.
Pointing the walls: One week with the help of his friends. Installing the oven: another week or two. Floorboards upstairs: A day or two. Windows: A few days. Floor downstairs: A few days. = Ready to move in temporarily. All the electric and water installations can follow in the winter. He can still cook/ shower/ use the loo outdoors. Seems like it's not impossible to be in the (of course not completely finished) cabin before the first snow!
Another fabulous episode in the series. Your graciousness in sharing your life and progress weekly is a testament to your courage and determination. Bravo on your journey! Thanks for sharing your story with us.
It’s always just so dreamy watching your videos 😊. The perfect escape from this exasperating world we’re experiencing. Good for you for finding this slice of heaven and God bless you for all the hard work and sharing your treasures with us around the world who’ve found you. Your hens are wonderful. And that freckled faced cow wow what a unique face 😊
Thank you Martijn. You amaze me with your artistry and industry, and I've been gratefully following you since the beginning of this venture. Watching you prepare for the coming winter at this autumnal equinox time was comforting. Blessed be.
Good morning! I live near the Adirondack mountains in N.Y. & the peace of the mountains is magical. I think it is your place of peace & life. There is nothing like having them around you. They settle the mind! Love the mist in the morning! Best of luck with making a mountain home! Stay warm & dry!!
Hi Martijn, it is the highlight of our week when your video arrives, so hard to resist a sneak peek. We so enjoy the real life pace, the thoughtful planing needed to get it right and appreciate the careful considered construction that you demand of yourself. You seem to have the balance of a satisfying life just right. It has been wonderful to watch your story. Really loved this week's video. The quality of the camera and drone shots, the storytelling, cooking, building, picking up mushrooms, the music, it really felt like the old times. Great work, Martijn!
Hello Martijn! It’s all coming along nicely & looking fabulous. The chickens adore living there…. Nice to see them scratching around under the trees. Those mushrooms look yummy, so good to be able to pick them & put them straight in the frying pan for breakfast. The renovations in the cabin are going to be magic when finished. I’m really looking forward to see where you are going to put the stairs that connect to the above room. Loved the video once again. Stay well & happy. Cheers Noeline. 🇦🇺🙏👏👍🇦🇺
I absolutely LOVE every video. You give us so much. Thank you!!!!! for allowing us to “live on the mountain” with you even if for just a little while. Sending you love energy of all the gods to keep you safe and well. Cheers
Yes, I chuckle to myself when I see that also. I believe staying close to Martijn stems from their attack from a neighbours dog that happened earlier this summer when he first let them free roam.
I find your videos so relaxing and soothing. When the weekly video ends I start looking forward to the next one. Thank You so much, watching your video every week is better than seeing a therapist once a week.
Imagining your sense of satisfaction seeing the rain channel in the drainage as designed. That was a lot of water shunted away from the house. Your stone work is amazing, totally disappeared into the wall as a whole. Thanks for bringing us along.
Thank you again... I'm always excited when I see you arrive in my mail...such hard work...but you take it in your stride...you know the saying 'how do you eat an Elephant'..."one step at a time" haha 😄 Thanks also for the mushroom information. Namaste ❤️
These videos are so soothing. Like so many here I’m getting close to 67 & retirement can be stressful. No matter what’s going on, I turn on one of the videos and almost immediately feel so peaceful. I jumped ahead today, chronologically I’m only on about episode 34 or so, so I don’t have to wait for new episodes. Thank you for recording & sharing your progression of turning these beautiful old structures into a home again.
Gracias Martijn! Your chickens following you WOW! The sound of the cow bells and the owner bringing you cheese as thanks for letting them eat your grass. Nice. Mushrooms, etc. The walls look very good. Impressive what you had accomplished. Saludos desde Costa Rica. 🇨🇷
Hi Martin🎉 beautiful day here in Lago Maggiore after a week of rain , probably one of my last swims in the lake this season. The water is very high. I can see snow on the far Alps and it's definitely mushroom season. Nice to have your video to inspire me to get out and forage for mushrooms on the hills
This sounds amazing! Last autumn I had my last swim at the Lido in Ascona the first week of November! It was a very warm week but one night snow fell and the next day the lake was freezing cold! Still dipped in the water, it woke up my whole body haha. Loved this season at the lake and in the valleys, hopefully I can come back next year! Greetings from Hamburg ♡

My 8 yr old grandson just asked if we could watch that guy who builds. We’re watching now in his bed cause he has school tomorrow and it helps him get to sleep like reading which we do also. He just said “I love Martijn Doolaard. So cool.
🥰🥰🥰
😊
I wonder how he pronounces the name.
@@BalboaBaggins when I say his name he pronounces it exactly.
I love the way you tap the beams, as if they're your friends.
I liked that delicate touch too😊
I noted that, too. A little pat on the back to them.
Well, they are his friends.
Like a proud dad
Nice, your guardian angels are always there for you, they're keeping you company !...
We watch it Sunday nights to go to sleep by. Then, I set up my laptop in the kitchen on Monday and wach anything I missed as I fix dinner.
❤
Oddly, (maybe not, maybe others feel this too... i cannot read all comments 😂)
I like the clean-up... it inspires me to get more done!
Bravo people of out door leaving!
Its not lost on us the amount of time you're spending getting us interesting camera angles. Your videos are really well produced and edited. Thank you so much for sharing.
I like the cowbells, too! It was nice that your neighbor gave you the cheese. Your place always looks great!
The markings on the black and white cow were gorgeous 😍. Now the dormice may have a challenge trying to build nests in the walls again.
Windows will really change the interior space.
I hope you get whatever is necessary done before it gets too cold.
Thoroughly enjoy your videos. 🇨🇦
Thank you Martijn for your sharing. I never miss a week. It’s so calming and inspiring. Next month I will go to Italia… find my own heaven.
Safe travels!!! Sending good vibes that your trip is successful and you find home!!!

Exactly!
Got rid of cable, only watch u tube.
Yes the soil must be pretty fertile for the grass to have shot up like that. No wonder the cows wanted it!
I’m in Cedar Park! What a difference in scenery between Central TX and Martijn’s beautiful surroundings.
The scent of freshly split seasoned wood,
warm glow of a fire on a crisp cool evening.
The tide of mist, gently ebbs and flows,
while birdsong and cowbells announce their presence.
Life is good 🙏 Thank you Martijn...

Loved the chickens settling down to watch you at 38.08! Well done on the Guardian article. 👍
So glad you added the disclaimer on the mushrooms, so important to have the best teaching possible for gathering and then consuming.
The grass looks amazing!!!
Sunday just isn't complete without an episode from you.
You are making me smile like nobody else can, you are bringing peace in my heart
@OfficialMartijnDoolaard--_ jo wtf?
Take care.

The cows are so beautiful! Receiving cheese from the cows that grazed on your property must be satisfying. Time for a cheese and mushroom omelete! 🧀🍄🥚
Martijn, the technical fascination of what you are currently doing is immense.
I love how the chickens follow you around the property, and good to see the brown hen,s leg has healed.
The grass looks amazing. I can't believe how lush and full it is, being just planted.

You’d never get tired of those views and the ever changing clouds…
Greetings,
Jeff
Thank you so much for setting your vlog to downloadable again Martjin.
Much appreciated!
Your vlogs are so therapeutic... soothing, peaceful, calming, de-stressing, refreshing...not to mention the feast of visual beauty...wouldn't want to ever miss a single one!
Thank You, for the Soul Banquet. You are cherished.
Martijn,
I would like to see you invest in a half-face respirator with P100 filters to protect you from all of the silica dust.
Realy wright important!!
It is best for some of them to be used to feed a hungry family at this time of year.
a God bless You!!
That black-and-white cow at 15:30 is amazing 🐄

It's almost like an addiction. 🤣 I watched some of the earlier films instead, although it wasn't the same.
Yes, I felt that chill in the air this morning in Austria. Seeing you install the stove in the tent made me really hope you get the cabin habitable before winter gets fierce. Best wishes.

I’d like to comment on the chickens have you noticed how they follow you around. Especially the white one she wants to be near you ❤ very special
I call her Lil' Buddy because of that. :)
He’s really not far away now.
The natural light flooding the cabin when the doors are open is beautiful. Would you consider part- glazing your doors?
Thank you Martijn. You amaze me with your artistry and industry, and I've been gratefully following you since the beginning of this venture. Watching you prepare for the coming winter at this autumnal equinox time was comforting. Blessed be.

Really loved this week's video. The quality of the camera and drone shots, the storytelling, cooking, building, picking up mushrooms, the music, it really felt like the old times. Great work, Martijn!
How envious I am of you delighting your self with those mushrooms, good for you! 😋👍👏🍄
Hello Martijn! It’s all coming along nicely & looking fabulous. The chickens adore living there…. Nice to see them scratching around under the trees. Those mushrooms look yummy, so good to be able to pick them & put them straight in the frying pan for breakfast.

Greetings from the Slieve Bloom Mountains in Ireland ... wonderful workmanship Martijn..
Love how the chickens seek you out and plonk down is your vicinity. The mushrooms look delicious.
Yes, I chuckle to myself when I see that also. I believe staying close to Martijn stems from their attack from a neighbours dog that happened earlier this summer when he first let them free roam.
@@Oldmane-420Martijn makes their fossicking so much more productive by turning stones over and generally rearranging the countryside for them …
I think it's also because they didn't have a rooster to "protect" them and lead the flock, so Martijn effectively provides that function.
I find your videos so relaxing and soothing. When the weekly video ends I start looking forward to the next one. Thank You so much, watching your video every week is better than seeing a therapist once a week.
I can’t wait to see the cabin in winter! The cozy warmth of the stove with the new renovations is going to be amazing!
Imagining your sense of satisfaction seeing the rain channel in the drainage as designed. That was a lot of water shunted away from the house. Your stone work is amazing, totally disappeared into the wall as a whole. Thanks for bringing us along.
Thank you again... I'm always excited when I see you arrive in my mail...such hard work...but you take it in your stride...you know the saying 'how do you eat an Elephant'..."one step at a time" haha 😄
