I’ve been building up an IEM/Backing tracks rig, your channel is always the right spot to get honest information on cool stuff!!! Having your videos it feels like a cheat code for Donkey Kong Country. Muchas gracias!!!!!
Donkey Kong Country. This is exactly what my band needs. We’ve been using workstation and the anxiety I feel during the show is horrible. Thank you Scott for the comprehensive videos. Best
Donkey Kong Country I do a solo and you've really helped me with Stage Traxx more than anything else. I felt like I was DJ ing while I was playing. Stage Traxx freed me up to be a musician again lol. I appreciate your informative videos because I'm not a tech guy and no longer have band mates around who can do this stuff. Many thanks.
Donkey Kong Country I've been watching all your backing track and media playback device content, it's been really helpful. Thank you so much for doing the leg work. You're always super thorough. We're starting some test shows for a crazy new project in FEBRUARY and this would really help a lot. Thanks again Scott! We had an Auric Audio LR-16 but sold it because we need midi, but we've held off buying the old Auric LP-16 because it's just too old, rare and expensive. Been holding out for all these new products that were coming, so glad we did.
Hi, Scott! My Donkey Kong Country band has been searching for this kind of device for ages, man! To be now straight, I am starting my adventure with backing tracks for my string duo and I see no bigger kickstarter than your amazing work, my wife hates seeing me watching your tutorials but one day she will thank me for learning and even more thank you for sharing your incredible experience. Keep doing this great job, Scott. Greetings from Poland!
Got it one year ago. amazing device with everything you need to replace laptops. Played several gigs with it and it worked really well. One thing I wish they can improve with a firmware update: as a drummer I use headphone output to hear click, cues and live guitar coming to Idoru through aux in. Unfortunately I can hear guitar signal only when idoru is on playing a song. When the playback is stopped between the songs the signal from aux in is not going through. This is really needed in a rehearsing situation. For example you have a new song to rehearse, so you are playing a song again and again and trying to polish some parts. It’s natural to stop playback, play few bars without idoru to check that all is good and then try again the full song. I would love to have the guitar still on in my ears in these situations. But anyway - this device is a solid professional piece of gear. I would recommend it to any band looking for an easy and robust backing track solution.
That is a super solution for when you want to get rid of computers in your band rig. We can now finally play our Donkey Kong Country metal cover with backing tracks properly!
Donkey Kong Country I‘ve been heavily getting into Stage Traxx 3 lately thanks to all of your related videos but I still think this device would perfectly fit for my bands needs. Thank you a lot, Scott!
Donkey Kong Country Great video. And great piece of gear. Personally I prefer stage Traxx on the iPad. No multicables and all of the other features you mention in your wish list.
Yup, that’s what I’m sticking with. And then I need video for my original music, so b beat for original and then stage Traxx for covers. But that’s just for me anyways 🤘

@@ScottUhlMusic b beat is great, my band is using the voicelive extreme 3, but ever since I saw your video on the b beat, I've been looking to upgrade, though this looks great as well... at least it beats the 2 mono track outs on the tc helicon... Played the donkey kong card in my other comment, lol.
I’ve been following your channel for a while now and man, you sure know how to explain stuff well. We’re in the process of implementing backing tracks more and this one does check our boxes, so even if we don’t play Donkey Kong Country live, we’re more than interested in using this one for our next gig 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Great review, as usual, mate! I've used a DigiTech JamMan Delay for many years doing pretty much that, except with all things you expect from electronic devices nowadays (MIDI was the most missed feature, even being stereo or mono is a good to have but 95% of the cases you won't need the second channel... being limited and all, it served me very well. :)
Donkey Kong Country, Scott your videos are excellent. Always done professionally and to the point. I have shared your channel to many of my fellow musicians and we appreciate your continued contribution. Keep up the good work!
From riffs that roar to tones so sweet, His skills and passion rarely meet. Like vines that swing in jungles free, He's got the groove of Donkey Kong Country. For fans who watch, each chord's a thrill, A journey led by Scott Uhl's skill.
This is definitely a great tool for live track performance. Yes, it needs a few additions but at its first stage looks very promising. I use BackTrax on iPad and only use a keyboard track on the L and click and cue on the R so it would be easier for me to covert my mp3 to .wav. Then, I would in Donkey Kong Country. Thank you Scott. Love your vids.
Thank you and all the Donkery Kong Country for this very excellent review and demonstration. This seems to be a step up from the old Digitech Jam Man that is also limited to 16 bit / 44000, however this has better control features for changing songs or going forward or backwards all through foot control as opposed to bending over the jamman to turn dials with hands.
Oooh ohh oohhh! Donkey Kong Country. I love this with midi too! I have been using and iPod touch-left channel for the track and right for the click. This will up the game considerably! Nice video as always!!!!!
This is one of the best products I've ever seen. Not only does it change the way you play backing tracks on stage, but it also makes it easier and more professional. I would really love to have this for my live shows, even if I don't win. I think I am still getting one for Christmas 😊. I wonder if it can be programmed as a controller to play Donkey Kong Country
Pretty cool product. I currently play backing tracks from the TC Helicon Voicelive 3 Extreme, so the idea of pedal-based backing tracks is cool. Having a multitrack output option is great. Donkey Kong Country!
Sometimes I feel lost in the wilderness when it comes to backing tracks but something like this would be exactly what I need to get out of Donkey Kong Country! Another great video, Scott.
My dad brought home a tabletop arcade machine in the 80's and our house became Donkey Kong Country in the neighborhood (true story). Great review as always @scottuhl. Appreciate the thorough insights about the Idoru backing track pedal. Appears to do everything I wish my Boss RC-600 did, without the extraneous functionality. I particularly like the six outputs, and ability to customize. Agree with the cons, however, I am not quite as dynamic of a player, and have a much smaller set list that I could easily convert to wav. This would work great for my setup! The only other feature that would make this even better would be battery power for portability.
Scott. Great video. Been looking at this since their kickstarter campaign. Thanks for the review. Donkey kong country - one of my faves Thanks for pointing out the live “concerns”.
I could so use one of these! What an amazing product! I could go ape with this type of device like I'm the champ in Donkey Kong Country. When only relying on yourself, sometimes you can only sing and play one instrument at a time.
Donkey Kong Country - this would be perfect for my new solo funk act. I have been writing and was wondering about foot pedals to play back backings instead of having the computer or iPad set up. Thanks Scott for all of your videos, it makes navigating new equipment amazing 🤩 🎶
Donkey Kong Country. I just moved from northwest of Toronto, to Yonkers New York. I lost a lot of band mates in that move. I don’t know a soul here, so the pedal could fill in musically, be much more sober but probably less in the way of conversation. Scott, thanks for all the informative videos along the way. Especially regarding PA’s and wireless systems.
Donkey Kong Country I just recently subscribed to your channel and each video you have is always of great help and insight! More videos and more power to you!!!
Hi Scott!! It's always a pleasure to see your videos about the different devices that appear on the market. It's been a huge coincidence that you came across this device, recently my B.Beat broke down and we went back to the computer to be able to use the back tracks....so I'm going to try my luck with Donkey Kong Country!!
Well dang DONKEY KONG COUNTRY! This is exactly what I'm looking for. As a guitarist ,I've been struggling with having backing tracks easily accessible . I have been following you for a while and your katana MK2 video convinced me to purchase one. I Love it! And I have learned so much about midi from you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your teaching style is very easy to follow.
Donkey Kong Country. Been wanting to pick up one of these for my live sets as it could add a lot in terms of playing the parts that I don't have band members for. Nice review! Best one I've seen yet.
Hey Scott, I like idea of the 6 outputs and the midi control that the Idoru P1 offers. I also liked your set list ideas that you showed. That can make the show more exciting for both the band and requester. Anyways, thanks again and Donkey Kong Country!
Playing Donkey Kong Country is like hunting for the perfect pedal. Lots of trials, a few pitfalls, and when you finally get it right, it’s pure ape-solute bliss!🐵 Great video!👏
A very interesting pedal, Scott. Thanks for a great review. I agree with your wishlist items, esp. being able to know what song's coming up next and whether the unit's going to play it automatically or pause. Thanks again for the review and yes, Donkey Kong Country all the way! :)
I don't comment often, but I really appreciate your efforts, Scott, to educate us gigging musicians. This backing track pedal looks just right for two bands I play drums in, and even for my own solo live shows where I play guitar and sing. Looks like I need to visit Donkey Kong Country!!!
Thanks Scott for the great video. Again, I love the honesty when something is "not right for you". Your honest and detailed reviews are appreciated. Similarly, this product is not right for me, but hopefully it goes to a good home.
Donkey Kong Country. Recently started watching videos on this channel. I've been trying to implement backing tracks in my band's live show and have been very curious about this piece of gear. I'm so glad I came across this very informative and helpful channel!
Hi Scott!!! Have been loving your tutorials and product reviews. I sing in a band but also do track shows with the other vocalists in our band. I use my laptop and usb sticks when someone else is handling the sound. This video had me curious. Since my track shows are usually full instrumentation, only live vocals, I guess this wouldn't work for us. I do hope they come out with a version that takes other formats other than wav files. I'm going to throw in my Donkey Kong Country because I have a guitarist that wants to join in on our track shows. The stems of course can be without guitar so we can go with live guitar and vocals. We'll learn to work with the device to enhance what we're doing. Keep those tutorials coming.
Nice!! This little device would be perfect for someone like me. With my main band, ive never been able to fully commit to the full on click track.. Theres a vibe and flow of energy thats live that I like to keep. holding on certain parts longer some nights depening on the crowd response or what is happening between tunes. So having the ability to cue parts and backing tracks is HUGE. Could make, making the show so much better! Also Donkey kong country is one of the best games and sound tracks of all time!
Donkey Kong Country. Thanks for introducing this pedal! It's super useful for my band since we have a lot of layers in our musics and with this pedal we could play them as they are!
This pedal would definitely get me all the way to Donkey Kong Country with a hands free option to control my tracks live. Cool unit, and gotta love the depth of your reviews!
I'm so glad I discovered this channel because of products like this. I run monitors and tracks for a couple of bands and a product like this would save me SOOO much time in programing. The routing looks dead simple and the dedicated controls for the headphone out is killer!!!! I borderline hate running a reaper session as the drummer for my band as I constantly have kill my back bending down to get to the laptop on the floor, this is something that I would LOVE to have here in Donkey Kong Country (Australia)
I don't know what in Donkey Kong Country changed but I'm glad it did, as I am seeing your videos back in my feed. That said, I could see something like this being handy for benefit concerts at church.
I got on their email list a couple years ago when they had sold out of the first launch. Meanwhile I learned how to use OnSong and play my backing tracks from my iPad. I’m sure the Idoru has much better audio quality and on the fly editing and mixing. For now my simple setup works for me. Maybe someday. Cheers.
Love this pedal, been willing this into existence for ages! Looks like a great bit of kit even if it costs almost 29x amount of a copy of Donkey Kong Country!
Ive just bought a digitech Jam man stereo to play sound bites for songs. only cost £50, has a memory card and you can cycle through your samples as if they are loops using the footswitch! 🙂
Donkey Kong Country, I'm playing solo with backing tracks. I'm being using a Roland Vima JM-5 for years. Playing with stems would be nice, Thanks for a lot of good videos from you
Thanks Scott for another very good review. I appreciate your videos and the way you present the information. You keep a good pace and cover a good amount of information in the time. Thanks again for all you do and remember this is Donkey Kong Country.
Great review! We've been looking for equipment to use backing tracks properly and easily. This is a great product, I think. It would be a great addition to the Donkey Kong Country!
Thank you Scott. Looks like a nice unit. I have been using the Boss RC5 to playback backing tracks when i do clinics and workshops as well as some solo shows. This opens up a lot of possibilities. I do like the 32 bit float 48k files of the boss units. They help with the Donkey Kong Country tunes but they are really big files
Interesting piece of gear.. We don't currently use backing tracks, but this could certainly pave the way for us. Thanks for the review on the Donkey Kong Country Idoru P1!
It looks like a fun piece of gear, pretty much like a pedal for stage traxx3 only thing is lacking some of ST3 functions but it can get them via firmware update later down the road. Wish you could also play Donkey Kong Country on it as well. Thank you for all your videos Scott, it’s really helped me step up my live shows to an all-wireless rig and to build my IRM rack.
Donkey Kong Country. Love the pedal format! I hope they add those minor firmware features, because it's already a very interesting device. Thanks for the detailed review! 🎸
Looks like a pretty nice alternated to those other audio interfaces that were still dependent on a tablet, etc. I can imagine a few people this would be great for. On a side note, 100K subs is right around the corner! Cheers!
I love the music in Donkey Kong Country! I think DKC2 was the best. Love your channel, it’s been a huge help for my cover band to upgrade our setup. This device might be exactly what we are looking for, though not being able to change the setlist midset is going to be tough.
This looks great 😃 despite the hiccups, I could really use this for some shows. I've always had trouble finding musicians to gig with and this could be the solution.
As someone that's just started venturing into the phase of migrating from tracks on an iPod to looking at computers with midi, I've felt like I was playing Donkey Kong Country on hard mode, whilst blindfolded. The P1 looks like it would solve all my problems and make me much less Cranky Kong, and more Funky Kong!
Thanks for another great review and overview Scott! My band has kicked around using backing tracks but haven’t been completely sold on it. This would be great to give it a try on a few tunes before going full on backing tracks. Can’t wait for the new Universal theme park to open next year and see Donkey Kong Country for real! 🙂
Great review Scott. I know what you mean about the always changing setlist based on crowd response. If there were a way to have an iPad or iPhone interface and scroll through the setlist using a touch screen, that would make it more flexable for deviating from a setlist. That iOS app should be what they develop next and it should have a checkbox next to the song in the set so you know which songs you have already played. I hope Idoru sees your video and reads our comments for future firmware and development updates. Donkey Kong Country.
Donkey Kong Country. I've been looking at this with great interest, the MIDI features especially! I really like the idea of being able to give this to a drummer, and letting them take charge.
Scott, you hit it on the head about the changes that would greatly enhance this unit. It DOES seem great for solo acts though. I'm in the process of putting together songs for a solo act and actually going to sing after all these years. Donkey Kong Country.
Im recently looking to start a band. Im an intermediate bass player and a vocalist. Ive decides to go out and perform in the clubs or even the streets since recruiting members with the same goal is hard for me so maybe by performing i can get some people to join me who are motivated and, talented and easy to work with. That padal sounds like something i can use. By the way, I've been watching your channel and I appreciate what you do. Most of us as beginners in the game have no clue about this gears and their use, you truly are helping us. Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country! That's Scott for another great review and for finding the gear for us working musicians! There's so much stuff out there and you always seem to find the stuff that we didn't even know we needed!

Glad it’s helpful to you! 🙏
Cheers.
Donkey Long Country! These units look awesome, perfect for solo rock musicians.
Donkey kong country
Great video as usual Scott!
I do love your honest gear reviews. Nice to see that the laptop-free market is getting competitive! Donkey Kong Country
Game changer! Such a cool start into backing tracks. Feels like Donkey Kong Country!
Interesting product and great in depth info Scott! Let's get you to 100K! That's some serious Donkey Kong Country
Thanks man! Almost there!!! 🤞
Donkey Kong Country, I'm playing solo with backing tracks. I'm being using a Roland Vima JM-5 for years. Playing with stems would be nice, Thanks for a lot of good videos from you
Donkey Kong Country! Thanks for bringing gear focused toward backing tracks + midi to light Scott
Thanks Scott for another very good review. I appreciate your videos and the way you present the information. You keep a good pace and cover a good amount of information in the time. Thanks again for all you do and remember this is Donkey Kong Country.
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Great video as always Scott. Always enjoy your demo videos. Donkey Kong Country
Was waiting for this (found you on your friend's video haha) This will be great for my Donkey Kong Country cover band! I do wish it had more outs haha
Haha nice! Chris is a great dude 🤘
Cheers!
Thanks man! It’s soooo close! Thanks for the support 🤘
Donkey Kong Country ❤ I love the professionalism! Great channel for live gear!!!
Thank you 🙏
I love the music in Donkey Kong Country! I think DKC2 was the best. Love your channel, it’s been a huge help for my cover band to upgrade our setup. This device might be exactly what we are looking for, though not being able to change the setlist midset is going to be tough.
I loved all 3 of the originals! They still hold up to this day
This looks great 😃 despite the hiccups, I could really use this for some shows. I've always had trouble finding musicians to gig with and this could be the solution.
Oh, I forgot, donkey Kong country! Lol
Hahaha nice references 🤘
Thanks for another great review and overview Scott! My band has kicked around using backing tracks but haven’t been completely sold on it. This would be great to give it a try on a few tunes before going full on backing tracks. Can’t wait for the new Universal theme park to open next year and see Donkey Kong Country for real! 🙂
So F#*Kin excited for this EP. Very interested in this unit. Cheers
I love how you give so many playback options on your channel! Its like playing Donkey Kong Country so many levels! :-)
Thank you 🙏
Donkey Kong Country. This is perfect, it would be great to use this to move away from the need to use a laptop for backing tracks live. Thanks Scott!
Donkey Kong Country! On point! I’m really digging your reviews and learn so much from your videos!
Looks great! I'm surprised that there aren't more devices like this. Just what I need for my Donkey Kong Country music band.
Donkey Kong Country, thanks for the opportunity to get such a product. Help sponsor the Kickstart program.
Really appreciate the *pragmatic* review and analysis work you do! Please keep up the great work.
Thank you 🙏 Glad you’ve enjoyed the videos!
Looks sweet! Thanks for making great review videos for Donkey Kong Country!
Thanks for the video Scott. I like how it's "almost" a Stage Trax3 in pedal for. Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country!
That's Scott for another great review and for finding the gear for us working musicians! There's so much stuff out there and you always seem to find the stuff that we didn't even know we needed!
Glad to help 🤘🤘
Donkey Kong Country … sending the barrels down hill, well I suppose that’s better than whizzing cannonballs. I’ve been using my old rc300,
I have to tell you , the subject matter of your reviews is spot on.
Donkey Kong Country! Dangggg, this is the Key thing for solo musicians. Congratulations on finding this.
Well Donkey Kong Country! I’ve been trying to figure out for weeks a setup that will do exactly this! Thank you for your great review of this awesome product!
